Other Things to Note
What we don't have:
Please take note that while there is a television (with DVD hookup), we do not subscribe to a cable service. This seems to disappoint some people. But like we said in one of the photos, Virginia Woolf is hovering and she'd just rather read a book.
Due to recent changes, we also no longer have in-house laundry facilities. Apologies for the inconvenience.
We prefer no pets, but if you can't part with Snuggles or Rover, let's hope they're clean and quiet. Most of our neighbours are not dog friendly, so we try not to aggravate or provoke them with noisy or jumpy dogs.
We ask guests to leave the apartment in the same condition as they found it.
We love this house. She is over a hundred years old and we treat her with care.
And most of all: Enjoy!
The place had plenty of space for me, my husband, two small children and my parents. My father is elderly and disabled and the fact that this apt is on the first floor was a big plus for us. There was a parking space and a small garden where the kids could play. The place was centrally located, just a short bus ride away from the metro.
We had a fabulous family stay. Our host went beyond all expectations to make a family celebration perfect. Space accommodated family that included two couples and a 10 month old baby. Wonderful foodie neighbourhood - meals can be enjoyed in the apartment or at local restaurants and cafés.
We loved Kathryn's apartment! It was bright, clean and exactly as advertized. The bed was super comfortable. A definite plus is the parking spot in the back: Montreal parking can drive you crazy so it's nice to not have to worry about figuring the parking signs on the street. A native Montrealer who lived for a long time in the Mile-End, I was happy to find myself back in this great Montreal neighborhood. You're close to everything, including bagels. Kathryn responded quickly to all messages and was very helpful. We would definitely stay in Kathryn's apartment again.
I recently took a trip to Montreal with four of my friends to explore the incredible restaurant scene a bit and this apartment could not have been more perfect for us! It was plenty of space, very comfortable, gorgeous and in a great neighborhood. The neighborhood is quiet, but close to many stellar restaurants and bars. It was also a short walk to Mont Royal, one of the highlights of our trip. It isnt a far walk from the Laurier subway stop, which was convenient for us, though we didnt even need a train ride for the most part of our trip! Everything was so close.
Kathryn was incredibly prompt, friendly and helpful in answering all of my (many) questions and more. I would recommend this apartment to anyone traveling to Montreal, and I hope to revisit it myself one day!
It really made our trip fantastic!
The apartment was absolutely gorgeous. The beds were super comfortable. My mother, father and I were able to cook an amazing dinner in the kitchen. The location is close to everything and I really could not have asked for a better weekend. Anyone considering a stay in Montreal should stay here.
This is the second time that we have stayed at Kathryn's home. It was wonderful! The home is very comfortable with lots of room, great kitchen, large dining room and living room. The parking space in the back is very helpful as there is very little street parking. The neighbourhood is fabulous, lots of shops, restaurants and cafes close by. Kathryn is a great host, she provided the key as arranged and was helpful with anything we needed. We will stay here again.
Amazing 4-day stay at Kathryn's apartment!! Classic it is, full of character and style. So comfortable, clean and spacious. I've stayed in Montreal many times, but always on the other side of Parc. This is an absolutely beautiful and quiet area too, still close to everything. Very accomodating on check-in. Sad to leave, would highly recommend.
We are Leila & Kathryn, a self-employed writer/editor and a self-employed historian/researcher/community worker.
We live in the city and farm in the country. Our chickens lay green eggs.
We dream of tap dancing and Italian sports cars, but settle for neither.
We talk of cabbages and kings but don't like either.
We speak English and French très bien, merci beaucoup.
We love our old apartment and hope you do, too.
