Heritage English Bay 1BR, Vancouver

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Bidwell St, Vancouver, BC V6G 1Y1, Canada

The Space

Make yourself at home in our beach front apartment.

Entire one bedroom apartment in Vancouver's lovely West End, across the street from English Bay beach. Just a short walk (less than a minute) to Denman and Davie Sts with restaurants, nightlife, and the relaxed atmosphere of Vancouver. A few steps in the other direction is the seawall with access to Stanley Park. Four beaches within a short walk! If you like going for runs or walks, we are in the perfect location!

Our place has beautiful hardwood floors, a queen sized bedroom, full bath with a clawfoot bathtub (and it has a shower too), large kitchen with gas stove, and a huge living room with some nice vintage touches. The building is one of the oldest in the West End and has some nice quirks.

You're welcome to use the wireless internet or our computer, as well as spices and condiments, cooking gadgets, or numerous boardgames. (Basically, we live here so it is a fully stocked house for you to make yourself at home in). If it's summer we'll have a beach bag packed and ready to go for you with beach blanket and a frisbee.

The buses on Davie St and Beach Ave give ready access to the rest of the city. It's a ~25 minute walk to the Canada line station at Yaletown, or to the Skytrain (email hidden).

Here is the full disclosure section:
Parking: Most of the parking around our place requires a residents permit. The visitor parking spots are available overnight, but you have to move your car every two hours during the day, which is a pain. HOWEVER there is a hotel about 2 blocks away that has parking for $15 overnight. They said they never get booked up.

Shower: Because this is an old building, sometimes the shower temperature varies a bit, especially during peak shower times. It has never presented a big problem for us, but it's just something to be aware of.

  • Will and Colleen have an adorable apartment- lots of cool artwork, plenty of board games and a really cozy bedroom! The apartment is in a great location. I've never been to Vancouver and things were very accessible by bus or on foot. I really enjoyed waking up for an am run in Stanley Park. There are tons of restaurants nearby but we also enjoyed making a meal in the apartment too.

Colleen was super available and checked in with me several times before arrival which I really appreciated! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

  • This is the perfect apartment to venture about Vancouver from. Centrally located, has a full kitchen, comfy bed and a nice feel. We had a great time in the apartment. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone.

  • We had a wonderful stay! The place was in a perfect spot -- we were walking distance from Stanley Park, the Davie neighborhood and Robson Street. The apartment was cozy, clean and Colleen was really quick to respond and accommodating. They even had Ticket to Ride (one of our favorite games :)). The only difficult part was parking since most is for residents or 2 hours. However, we just left the car all day in Stanley Park (5 min walk) for $5 per day and found street parking at night. Thanks Colleen and Will!

  • A great place in a great neighbourhood.

We absolutely loved Will and Colleen's place, as it's situated around the corner from two major streets, each chock-full of bars, restaurants, and shopping as well as a stone's throw from Stanley Park.

The apartment itself was very clean, big enough for the two of us and our son, plus Will and Colleen left us a very helpful welcome list (including restaurant recommendations) inviting us to make ourselves completely at home.

We'd love to stay again when we make our way back to Vancouver.

  • Good space in a great location with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Colleen was very generous with her belongings, easy to communicate with and answered queries promptly.

  • Will and Colleen's apt was in a great location - close to Stanley Park and West end shopping and dining. They were wonderful hosts and left us plenty of local info. Wish we had more time to spend with them, they were interesting people. Thanks

  • Will & Colleen were welcoming, thoughtful, and fun hosts. Their apartment is great for couples or singles and came with very detailed instructions and recommendations on almost every possible need that a traveler could encounter (English Bay and Let's Roll Sushi turned out to be gems just a 5 minute or less walk away!) The beach bag they packed also came in very handy since my boyfriend and I tried to pack light and didn't bring a beach blanket with us. Their apartment got great light in the morning and is filled with fun decorations that has inspired me to get my apartment in order! Bus transportation was also fairly easy and frequent and allowed us to get to North Vancouver and Richmond (with connection to Canada Line) without a problem.

  • Awesome location steps to the beach! This funky apartment is great for walking the West End and enjoying English Bay.

  • Will and Colleen's apartment was the perfect place to stay: the English Bay beach is just a minute or two walk from the front door, Stanley Park only a little further, and the shops and restaurants on Davie street just a couple of blocks away. For us a great location! The apartment itself is lovely, very cosily decorated, and in an interesting old building. Will and Colleen were great hosts: they are flexible and friendly, made special arrangements to bring us the keys in advance, left cute notes around the place for us, and were very quick to respond to all our messages. Their house manual is very extensive and made everything very easy for us. They had even created a collaborative art project to which guests were invited to contribute however they wished (we didn't notice it until just before leaving, unfortunately, so look out for it if you stay here!). Overall, it was a great experience, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

  • Very lovely hosts with a very cosy and warm place in a heritage building just close to English Bay and close to Denman street with superior traffic connections, restaurants & just close to Stanley Park

We enjoyed this place far more than any hotel in town - a lovely way to enjoy yourself in Vancouver. Probably just as good as Air bnb can be.
