This is a small, trendy, cute and clean studio that fits right in with the Lower East Side! Everything has been custom built and designed and you will be very comfortable. It is small (200 sq feet) so it is perfect for a couple or two friends travelling. I have a queen-size ottoman style bed and a fold out bench/cot.
Other amenities include wireless internet, flat screen tv, AC and fan, closet, full bathroom, linens and bedding, and full kitchen for cooking.
The location is amazing, 2 blocks from the 2nd avenue stop on the F train and in the middle of all the restaurants, shops and clubs.
I look forward to meeting you!!
p.s. My apartment was in Apartment Therapy's Small, Cool Spaces contest in the Teeny-Tiny Category.
We had a great experience! The apartment is so cute and very comfortable. It was clean and had everything we needed. The location was favorable as bars, restaurants, movies, etc. are in walking distance. Kara was very easy to communicate with, responded in a timely manner, and very accommodating with our travel schedule, delays and all.
Place is a little tiny but has a lot of style and was very clean. It's perfect for a couple or a single person.
It's located in the middle of one of the trendiest places in NY, on Orchard street, so there are plenty of things to do.
Kara did a good job at welcoming me, I did enjoy my stay.
My niece and I stayed at Kara's flat for a weekend in March. The experience was extremely positive! Kara was very flexible with our arrival/departure times and she was quick to reply throughout the weekend when we needed her. The flat is very conveniently located as well. Overall a very positive experience. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay!
The apartment is really clean, beautiful and in the best location! Like described it's small but for 2 people its absolutely enough. Kara is a wonderful host who answers really quickly to any questions/concers. Top!
Sometimes when one finds a place as nice as this, there is the temptation NOT to review it so no one else discovers it and you have a better chance of getting it the next time. This apartment--and this host's support network--is one of those places) Kara's space was an absolute delight.
Kara's apartment was a perfect fit for our weekend trip to NYC. The location was walking distance to so many great restaurants, shops and bars. As the other reviews have all stated, the apartment is really small but it totally works for a couple. The apartment is REALLY hot, we had the windows open and air conditioner on the entire time and it was literally 10 degrees outside. Not the most environmentally friendly situation but it was fine. We met Karas housekeeper to pick up the keys and that worked out fine as well. There's no elevator so if you have a lot of luggage be prepared to carry it up 4 flights. Other than that it was pretty quiet and really cozy - we loved our experience!
nice, clean and cozy. you can feel the interior design was made with a soul.
Kara is a great Host, she help us to check in earlier and gave us good advices to get to the apartment. She was helpful and respectful of our privacy.
The apartment smell was lovely and very clean, the location is very good, near several subway stations and the lovely little Italy, although it is very small, the street is a little bit noisy and if you carry a heavy luggage (our case), you will need a strong arm to climb it up to the 4th floor (no elevator).
It was a very good experience...
Kara's place is perfect! It really felt like we were actually living in the city. The neighborhood has great restaurants and bars and we never felt unsafe walking back late at night. The process of getting the keys couldn't have been easier and Kara was very accommodating and willing to work with our hour of arrival and departure. We would definitely stay here again!
We stayed at Kara's for two nights (November 2013). She was quick to respond and we met her cleaning lady for keys (on Thanksgiving). As mentioned by other recent guests: the wifi/cable did not work, almost all of the lights were out, and, while it wasn't a disaster, it wasn't exactly clean, either. The apartment was hot (no fault of Kara's), so we made use of the AC and fan and kept a window open. With the windows open, street noise was obviously louder, but it wasn't terribly noisy until around 4am when the bars closed. Overall, the stay was fine, but we've stayed in nicer places in LES for the same price.
