I got there late and could not meet Warren, although my friends who got there earlier did, and said he was a friendly guy. Whenever we needed help, he answered texts quickly. The neighborhood was very nice, and calm, with plenty of parking spots. He let us check out later than planned, which was very nice of him.
The place is large, and nice. Our main problem with the apartment was cleanliness. It was dusty, a bit messy, and floors were dirty. The backyard, we did not dare going. Not acceptable when we're charged $75 for cleaning.
The other problem was the A/C. I was lucky enough to be in the room with the AC, so it was great. However the other two rooms, which supposedly also have A/C, don't or weren't cooled enough, and my friends told me they were dying in their rooms at night.
All in all, despite the space, nice neighborhood, easy access to subway, and friendly host, I probably would not stay there again until issues with the a/c and cleanliness are taken care of.
Hi, I'm very sorry about the cleanliness. You arrived the same day as other guests were checking out (as I had disclosed and we had discussed before you booked). I think the cleaner did not have enough time to complete her job. I will avoid scheduling so tightly in the future as well as substitute our cleaner. I don't want you feel you were mischarged so I will send you a refund of the cleaning fee. Most guests have not had any cleaning issues with our house or backyard.
As for the AC, I wish you had texted me. We have central AC. The front room is a bit stronger than the back rooms but you only needed to lower the temperature.
The host was very communicative about all of the details regarding the location and operation of the apartment. He also allowed us to leave our bags for a late departure (14:30 rather than 12:00).
Warren was very accommodating and easy to reach. All the sleeping spots were comfy. The space accommodated us nicely-- It was nice to have two sitting areas and we had plenty of sleeping options. The house has lots of charm leaving me with the feeling that I was visiting an old friend. The proximity of the house to the park and the subway was perfect. The neighborhood was sweet and had most necessities.
Warren was a great host, made the process very easy and welcoming. Warren was very easy to reach and returned messages quickly. Very helpful and well planned. The location is great to get in and out of NYC. plenty of room for 5 guests and has a lot of stuff. Parking was easy and so was the access to the trains. Overall worked well for us.
There was a break-in right across the street on the first day so we were a bit nervous with all the police activity.
Had a minor issue with the toilet not working on the last day.
The house had a lot of stuff every where
Thanks Sunny, glad you had a great stay! I feel so awkward about the break-in because our house/block/street had never had an issue ever before that. It happened in an apartment building that has a full time doorman. No one was hurt but I want to reassure guests about the safety of the neighborhood and Brooklyn in general. See this chart for reassurance. (website hidden)
My family and I had a wonderful experience and Warren's house for our mini reunion. The place is very well appointed and comfortable. Warren and his wife were very attentive and always responded immediately to requests. We really enjoyed our time here.
Warren's home made our trip to New York very enjoyable. The listing was exactly what we found. It was close to the subway which gave us easy access to the rest of the city and everything we wanted to do. Warren made everything very easy and we enjoyed the neighborhood as well.
A great place and a great location for exploring Brooklyn and beyond. Warren and his family's place is convenient and comfortable.
