My wife and I had an absolutely charming time with our hosts Denny and Aimee. Their house is stunning; overlooking a tidal estuary. The locally sourced breakfast they served was delicious, some of the best bacon I've had! I would highly recommend a stay here. Cheers!
We had a great time! The view from the porch was beautiful and we had a nice time relaxing outside. We were close by to Portsmouth and enjoyed being able to explore that area. Breakfast with Denny and Aimee was really enjoyable and we appreciated their recommendations of things to do nearby. Overall everything worked out well!
I very much enjoyed my stay with Denny & Aimee. They are very interesting people and true artists. Growing up around artists is kind of what attracted me to the house. This is the right setting for that type of creativity. I personally love the old fashioned/antique architecture. The view around the home is a million dollar view.
I appreciate the fact that Denny allowed me to play his piano and wish I could have done more of it.
They make a very nice breakfast in the morning.....I made an error thinking that we could use the kitchen, but it was not checked off in the summary of amenities. It was nice to have chats with them in the morning......they also have an adorable dog.
I am new, quite new to airbnb.........when you stay in someones however it is not, nor should it be expected to be like a hotel, motel or vacation cottage. It is not really the same as a B&B either.....
Yes I recommend, especially for artisitc types, they make everything organic and are quite involved in that movement.
One negative; bathroom could have been cleaner......but Aimee uses all organic products.
I wish them the best of luck with their art and galleries.....and piano practicing!
Nina, thanks for the feedback. We're aware of the bathroom's shortcomings and have taken steps to rectify them. Since we don't own the home, we have a reluctance to invest a lot of many into it. But it's certainly on our list. As for the use of the kitchen, there haven't been many guests interested in using it, so it hasn't been something we've paid much attention to. But your suggestions are noted. Thank you! We enjoyed having you and Patty and especially enjoyed your love and appreciation for art and your love and playing of the piano. Come by anytime to practice!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Dennis and Aimee. In addition to being amazing artists and creative people, they are simply welcoming and accommodating hosts. We lingered around the breakfast table long after breakfast was eaten and done, just chatting. We even got to swap some piano pieces on their grand piano.
Their house is also just perfectly situated with beautiful views. Breakfast was delicious and all locally sourced-- does it get any better than this?
We right away fell in love with this beautiful house. I can’t stop admiring their wonderful paintings all over the wall. Denny and Aimee were wonderful hosts. They make delicious breakfast, organic eggs and butter, especially the bacon from local farm. Everything was just perfect. Highly recommended!
It was great to meet Denny and Aimee, even though we only stayed for one night. Breakfast was delicious and my girlfriend and I had a great time talking to them. A really interesting, lively, and inspirational couple. They have a great dog as well. The house itself is beautiful and rustic, with paintings everywhere and a nice view of some countryside from the porch. Like another reviewer said, it isn't a modern luxury suite, but everything was clean and worked. We feel lucky to have met Denny and Aimee and strongly recommend staying with them.
I can't say one bad thing about our stay, except we didn't stay longer. Denny and Aimee were the type of hosts your dream of. We immediately connected on many levels, and are sure to be back. I could have easily sat on the porch for weeks with a good book, but our stay was short and packed with lots to do, so that didn't happen this time around... maybe next time... We will be back!!
Denny and Aimee were the perfect hosts with an idyllic home. Staying with Denny and Aimee was my first Airbnb experience and they could not have been more welcoming, warm and accommodating. Their home, with the wrap around porch and artwork, is something out a storybook. I highly recommend staying with Denny and Aimee.
(email hidden) to spend an overnight in Maine! Atmosphere and character, easygoing comfort and something close to rural quiet – Denny and Aimee’s 1910 home is full of porches and 49-pane windows. The forecasts had proven wrong and the sun came out this past weekend so that we got to enjoy Nubble Light and drive up to Ogunquit for a trek along the Marginal Way. Our two hosts and their interesting histories were part of the pleasant surprise of the weekend. They served eggs at breakfast that showed the deepest yellow I have ever seen in yolks, and their thick bacon hailed from Rosemont Market in Portland. Quality establishment. We hope to go back.
This is a wonderful home with thoughtful and talented hosts. We only stayed one night, but it was just the escape we were looking for, and with great proximity to Portsmouth. Denny and Aimee are really interesting people and a pleasure to speak with. Paleo friendly for any cavemen out there on AirBnB with a delicious breakfast!
