Guest will be greeted by myself (Juliet) or Iain and one of is usually available if you require any information. On occasion when I work breakfast will be laid out and you will be required to self/serve, but we will let you know if that is to happen.
The area is called Davidson's Mains, we are five minute's walk away to friendly pubs serving food, two Indian take away's, a chinese take away and a Fish & Chip shop. Also in the village there is a Tesco Supermarket, two Banks, a Chemist, two Hairdressers, a Beauticians, a Post Office, a Dry Cleaners/laundromat, a Cafe, three Churches and a large tree enclosed park with kids playpark.
We are neighbours to Lauriston Castle a 16th-century tower house which overlooks the Firth of Forth. There are tours of the Castle at the weekend but the grounds are open daily and free to visit including the Japanese garden and fantastic views to the sea.
You can take lovely sea shore and river walks around to Cramond. Cramond Village and harbour have Roman Ruins and the earliest known site of human settlement in Scotland.
We have private parking on our drive and are on a good bus route. The bus stop is a five minute walk away where you can catch a bus every 10 to 20 minutes to the city centre (a 20 minute bus ride away) or to the airport (a 35 minute bus ride away).
You can get a bus to us from the airport which requires one change of bus.
A taxi is around £15 and takes about 20 minutes.
There is also a cycle path just behind our house to the centre, if you wish to hire bikes.

Great experience. Very helpful host. Rooms were comfy and clean. Excellent all round.
I was made very welcome. Juliet is a lovely, easy going lady who is happy to spend time chatting, which made me feel at ease. I felt comfortable in this family home, and the flexibility of breakfast timing and also checking out was very helpful. Juliet's family is lovely too and I enjoyed meeting everyone. The room itself was an absolute haven to me, very comfortable bed, quietly situated at the back of the house, warm, very good size and with lots of drawer and wardrobe space. The house itself is immaculately presented in its decor, including a fabulous shower room, with soft bathsheets to use (which was a lovely surprise having been to plenty of B&B's with small scratch towels)! All in all, I felt I could have stayed much longer!
Juliet and Ian welcome me into their beautiful home with open arms. My first impressions of Scotland were a bit challenging and they managed to change my entire perspective and attitude (along with another amazing guest who was also staying at their place). I am very grateful for the help they gave me in regards to seeing the city, understanding bus routes (which were absolutely straight forward anf quick from extremely close to their home), and a perfect vegetarian self serve breakfast each morning. Highly recommend and will miss the characters of both very much during the rest of my Scottish adventure. I will be back! And hope to host their family one day in Canada:)
Juliet and Iain are friendly welcoming hosts. They were very happy to chat and offer suggestions to make our stay the best it could be. Their home is beautiful and the accommodation just as pictured.
We have just returned from a three night stay in Juliet and Ian's lovely family home. As advertised the B & B is very comfortable with everything you could possibly need. The location is very good with easy access to both airport and city centre. There is parking available should you need to bring a car. Tesco is 2 minutes walk and pub, bakery and cafe very close at hand. We will definitely recommend this B & B to our Dutch friends.
We thoroughly enjoyed out stay with Juliet and Ian. We felt so at home. Our room was very comfortable, pleasant and (email hidden)ey welcomed us and were so helpful giving us directions and helping us find interesting sites to visit that were close. We had a lovely walk around their small area and visited some of their cute shops and pubs. The accommodations were very close to stores and restaurants and this was very helpful because we were without a vehicle. Thanks Juliet and Ian for helping to make this part of our visit to Scotland so memorable!
Our stay in Juliet's house was really nice and we enjoyed every minute of it. The house is lovely and the standard of the room and bathroom are high. Everything was perfectly clean and very comfortable. Juliet and her husband are very nice and always ready to advise us on what to visit and do in the city.
