Another wonderful stay! Next time we will stay longer...perfect space to spread out! Lovely and clean, awesome, stocked kitchen.
Thanks for another great stay and hope to see you again soon!
Sybil and Keith were there to greet us upon our arrival and gave us a complete tour of our accomodations. They really made is feel welcome. The place is very large, open and very clean (exactly as described). The location is very rural but very close to Victoria and Sidney. Very relaxing atmosphere. We came as a group of four and never felt cramped; bedrooms are large and spacious and kitchen is well appointed. They are great hosts and we would highly recommend ther spot.
Fantastic place to stay while on the island for a wedding in Sidney! It was a perfect location to access Sidney and downtown Victoria. The suite was clean, bright, spacious and had all the amenities to make our stay comfortable. Thanks, Sybil!
Sybil and Keith were excellent hosts. They provided us with everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen was very clean and well stocked with dishes and utensils. And they were CLEAN!! (which is not so easy to find with some airbnb hosts.
We had plenty of room and made use of pretty much every one of them. We spent a lot of time in the family room (extra bedroom) too and our kids learned to play the piano. Now we are looking into lessons. I hope we didn't bother Sybil and Keith too much. With the late sunshine, our kids were more than eager to stay up and play the organ until the sun set. Good thing there is volume control on it.
We loved the location and we visited the farm across the street every day. 2 of the days we went over twice lol. We got fresh eggs from the farm and visited with the animals after our long days of hiking.
The futon in the family room is not very comfortable. My husband and I sacrified our backs to let the kids sleep in the master and 2nd bedroom. But with all the activities we did, we knocked out pretty cold without a problem.
I would highly recommend this place, we really fell in love with the area. And Sybil and Keith are very kind people. Thanks for a wonderful stay!!
Sybil and Keith have a wonderful downstairs flat that felt like home from the moment we walked in. It was clean, bright, excellently furnished, spacious, and comfortable - with a counter full of Vancouver Island information and lots of books, games, etc. We enjoyed having a full sized washer and dryer in the flat as we were traveling for an extended period and a fully equipped kitchen. Sybil and Keith greeted us when we arrived, gave us a quick tour of the flat and let us know they were fully available if we needed anything. Very accommodating, friendly and helpful couple with a lovely home!
We had a wonderful experience staying with Sybil Bowler and her husband, Keith! The Bowlers are so friendly and helpful. The home they shared with us was spotlessly clean and very attractive. It is in a wonderful area of Victoria - close to Butchard Gardens and many other attractions. We highly recommend Town and Country to everyone.
We are a retired professional couple that love to travel. Keith was born in the English Midlands and has also lived on the Isle of Wight and Scotland before emigrating to Canada. He had a long career in Administration, first at Toronto University and later at the University of Vancouver.
Sybil comes from Wales and later Bristol, England where she attended University for a degree in French and German.
We met in Toronto, where Keith studied Business Administration and Sybil completed courses at the Faculty of Education. Toronto was our home for 27 years. Our 3 children, now grown up and also living in Western Canada, were born there.
Our love of travel has taken us to almost every state and province in North America and to many parts of Europe as well as Australia and New Zealand. We have camped, cruised, exchanged timeshares and made our own itineraries to all kinds of interesting places.
At home on beautiful Vancouver Island we enjoy gardening, walking reading and entertaining. Sybil is involved in teaching Bible at our local church and helping out with after-school programmes on our nearby First Nations Reserve. She is also busy writing a family history dating back to the late 1700's.
Keith is a keen philatelist and avid reader of mysteries. We both enjoy photography and spend time working on restoring old photos. As a family we reinvented an old Irish word game to produce our own Aletteration, which can be bought in boxes or accessed on an ap.
When the tennis grand slams are on you will usually find us in front of the TV. In 2010 Keith had the privilege, when volunteering at the winter Olympics in Vancouver and Whistler, of chauffeuring VIP's to their various destinations. We have a timeshare in Whistler and Keith is involved as a member of the owners' committee for the upkeep and improvement of the property.
Since becoming airbnb hosts two years ago we have had the pleasure of offering our home to guests from many countries of Europe, Korea, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand as well as Canada and the U.S. A few have made return visits. We always enjoy meeting new people.
