When I was planning my last trip to New York I didn’t know very much about the city. I’d only visited once before and I stayed in Midtown. Choosing a place to stay for this trip was a daunting task because I wanted to venture out of the usual tourist areas but I also wanted an easy commute around the city.
Niya’s house is located on a beautiful and quiet street and is within walking distance to some more bustling streets with shops and restaurants. Niya recommended Connecticut Muffin for breakfast and it was so charming that I went back every morning for the rest of my stay. Manhattan is easily accessible from Niya’s place, although it is a little bit of a walk to the subway station. Unfortunately, my vacation coincided with some repair work on the A line which added a lot of time to my commute home at the end of the night. I assume this is a rare occurrence, though.
The room in Niya’s home is exactly as pictured. It was a gorgeous and comfortable space and Niya clearly put a lot of thought into the décor. I had all the amenities I needed, including air conditioning.
Getting to know Niya was one of the highlights of my trip. He’s funny, warm, and charming and he made me feel right at home. It was evident that he’s an experienced host because he thought of everything I could possibly need during my stay and his recommendations about transportation and restaurants were invaluable. It was a relief that Niya could be flexible with our check-in/out times, especially when our departing flight was rescheduled at the last minute.
I definitely recommend staying at Niya’s during your trip to Brooklyn. It was a great experience and I would like to visit again someday.
Quaint space. Do note it's a bit warm in the summer. Spacious. I feel the price especially with cleaning fee was a bit much for the area compared to similar listings. Easy subway access. The bed was intensely firm. It's worth noting it's a very very firm, uncomfortable mattress. Being said, Niya is wonderful and very helpful. If you stay be sure to check out Sit & Wonder coffee shop.

we really enjoyed our stay. it felt like an own apartment and niya took care of everything. would love to come back one day!
Niya's studio was perfect for our trip! It's located just a few blocks away from the subway that will get you into Manhattan in under thirty minutes, and within walking distance of dozens of restaurants and markets. The studio itself is spacious and beautiful! With lots of great art work and some useful guidebooks. Unfortunately, we were not able to meet Niya, but he had a friend there to meet us(even after our flight had been delayed two hours!) who was very friendly and welcoming and answered any questions we had. Highly recommended. Thank you, Niya for making our vacation great!
This was a very lovely place to stay. Niya was very welcoming and helpful. It was nice to stay in Brooklyn. I would recommend an Indian restaurant towards the station called India House and Connecticut Muffin for breakfast. Niya also recommended a really good, reasonable taxi service to take us back to the airport.
