About this listing
I live in a 1 bedroom apartment directly facing beautiful Parc Lafontaine in the Plateau borough of Montreal. In my apartment there is high speed internet, a claw-foot bathtub/shower, a full double bed, a kitchen with fridge, stove, and toaster oven, and a LOT of plants.
I have a small balcony with a table and chairs, (that I share with my neighbour who is cool, and never home) and a sunny fire escape with lots of plants, a bamboo mat and a small BBQ.
Smoking is allowed in the building, but I'd prefer if you smoked outside. My cat would also prefer this. She is grey and pretty and very shy around strangers.
There is free parking in the street, and a BIXI station half a block away. I am about a 5-7 minute walk from Mont Royal and Sherbrooke metro stations, 5 minutes to St-Denis and Mont Royal, and about 10 minutes to St Laurent. There are a lot of great restaurants on Duluth street, which is just around the corner. I'm also about a 10 min walk from the Village.
Interaction with Guests
I will meet you if my schedule allows but if not I'll arrange to get my keys to you another way!
It's a beautiful residential neighbourhood that's very central in Montreal and close to restaurants and shopping.
My place is about a 7 minute walk to the orange line, and has close access to several buses.
Make yourself at home but respect my belongings! If something breaks just leave a note or let me know. I'll leave a sheet for you with details about the wifi and shower.
My cat is very shy so please don't force her to come out of hiding if she doesn't do so on her own! In the summer I will come by once every day or two (at an agreed upon time) to water my plants if necessary!
I cannot recommend Heather and her apartment highly enough! Although Heather was away the weekend we went to visit, she was very easy to get in contact with if we needed her. Everything in the apartment was exactly as shown on the website. It was in a great location and we enjoyed spending time in the beautiful park right across the street. Everything that we wanted to do was within a reasonable walking/biking distance.
We had a wonderful stay at Heather's apartment. It's exactly like the pictures: warm and cozy. We felt right at home.
Heather was a great host and very responsive. Key pick up and drop off was straightforward, and the check out process was simple.
The apartment is right around the corner from several Bixi stops and an easy walk to a bunch of great restaurants. Thanks for a great stay, Heather!
The location is perfect for anybody who wants to discover Le Plateau. The neighbourhood is lovely and quite beautiful. It is near a metro station, La Banquise, La Fontaine park many coffee shops. The apartment was nice.
Great neighborhood! Apartment was very Montreal!
Place was just like the pictures.
Old building, but cosy and clean apartment with fun, quirky decor.
Felt like we were staying at a friend's place.
Heather responded to emails quickly and no problems with key pick up or drop off.
Heather's place was perfect for our trip to Montreal. It's centrally located and in close proximity to all the top spots to eat and explore. Her cat Heidi is extremely sweet and we were happy to hang out with her while at the apartment.
We'd love to stay here again the next time we visit. Heather's place was quaint and minimalist, and met all of our needs.
As first time Airbnb users, I really wasn't sure what to expect. Heathers place is very cozy & comfortable with a good amount of space for 2. The pictures are a very true representation of the apartment. The location was absolutely the best part - ridiculously convenient to so many different areas either by foot or bike or car. The beautiful park directly across the street is also an amazing perk! Heather responded immediately to our texts with any questions we had. Also have to put a shout out to Heidi - very friendly cat who welcomed us each time we came in from exploring.
Thank you both! :)
Heather is super simple to deal with, easy email communication and sms.
The apartment is in the best possible location in Montreal (I used to live in MTL). You can't really ask for a better location.
It's small and there's a lot of stuff in it, but it has tonnes of character, and an awesome (small) outdoor patio (covered) overlooking park Lafontaine.
If you are a minimalist zen type when it comes to furnishings you'll probably find it a bit discombobulating!
About the Host, Heather
I am a 28 year old Halifax ex-pat who has been living in Montreal for the past six years. I am an art education student at Concordia University as well as a musician, cat lover and freelance artist.
I love gardening, biking, good food, and I spend a lot of time in the summer at the pool or in one of Montreal's many beautiful parks.
I'm on Airbnb to supplement my income while I'm in school, so if you're staying at my place, I will most likely be crashing at a friend's place nearby for the length of your stay! I will stop in every day or two to water my plants and feed my cat, who is very sweet but very shy - you probably won't see her!
My apartment is fully furnished, with a fridge and stove, shower and full bed, and the neighbours in my building are mostly young, and pretty quiet. The building is old and has great 6ft windows, high ceilings and wood floors. The location can't be beat!
