Historical house in the heart of colonial neighborhood San Angel. It's very well located, close to the traditional neighborhood of Coyoacan, the University of Mexico and the Saturday Bazaar, and a block away from the House-Studio of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, by the same architect. Close to the lines 3 and 7 of the subway, and 5 minutes away from the Metrobus. Located in a beautiful, safe and silent neighborhood of Mexico City.
The house has two well-furnished bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a full kitchen and a living room with a splendid view to gorgeous garden. There is Wi-fi available, a car can safely park on the streets outside, and towels and bed sheets will be provided. We can also provide delicious continental breakfast if you'd like us to.
This used to be the house and studio of the renowned architect and muralist Juan O'Gorman, known for his functionalist and organic buildings. The house was built on 1939 and is a truly unique building, built at the same time and in the same style as Frida Kahlo's own house in the Coyoacán neighborhood. O'Gorman is also the designer of the iconic 9-storey-tall stone mosaic in the University of Mexico Central Library, a UNESCO World Heritage Site site.
Its unique Mexican functionalist architecture matches the great decoration. This place is truly an oasis in the city, and we guarantee you won't regret a single second spent here :)
* If you rent the whole place, you would have the house to yourself, while we would move to an independent bedroom on the other side of the garden. The kitchen would be shared for mealtimes only.
