Interaction with Guests
This is our home and we work during the day, but are present and available during the evenings and weekends should you have any questions or need recommendations. We have lived in the neighborhood for over 10 years, and are very knowledgeable about all it has to offer.
Cobble Hill is a charming Brooklyn neighborhood that is centrally located in NYC.
The apartment is nestled on a quiet street between Smith and Court Streets, the two main commercial streets of the neighborhood. On them you'll find lots of great restaurants of every variety, coffee shops, outdoor cafes, bookstores, movie theaters, boutiques, galleries, bars and all the necessary convenience stores. The neighborhood is known for its beautiful historic brownstones and tree-lined streets.
The apartment is a short walk to the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM to the locals), the new Barclay Center, Brooklyn Bridge Park, the Promenade (best views of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty), and Downtown Brooklyn.
Manhattan is 10 minutes by subway, and the subway entrance is literally steps from our front door at the Bergen stop of the F and G subway lines. Taxis are also readily available on Smith Street.
Other Things to Note
We have a small dog. She is very friendly, well-behaved and lovable.

We ask that you wash and dry any kitchen items immediately after use - there's plenty of detergent to wash up or you can easily load the dishwasher. We recycle in our home.
We're easy going so you can come and go as you please, we'd just ask you keep the noise down if you're coming home in the late night hours during the week as we are up and off to work early!
We'd also prefer that you don't use the washing machine and dryer after 11pm and before 7am, just to keep the noise down.

Excellent stay with perfect hosts! This place is a gem in Brooklyn. Nice and quiet neighborhood and only 20 minutes subway ride to the heart of Manhattan. I highly recommend Chris and Don's place.
Chris and Don were fantastic hosts! They live in a great neighbourhood in a lovely home. Would happily stay with them anytime I'm in New York!
Don and Chris were superb hosts. Their Brooklyn townhouse is absolutely lovely, warm and comfortable. A bottle of water and a couple of chocolates made me feel most welcome, as did the fact that Chris whisked my bags down yo my room while Don was telling me about the house. I was in town for two weeks yo help my daughter with a new baby, so I did not take advantage of the great offerings of the area, but from experience, I know this to be one of Brooklyn's best neighborhoods for restaurants, shops and vibrant city life in a village atmosphere. Must mention that the private bathroom I had is great with a fabulous shower.
This was our third visit to Chris and Don's townhouse and we once again had a great experience there. The convenient location, the very quiet bedroom and warm hospitality can't be matched. We hope to be back for a stay soon.
Thank you Chris and Don. You guys were friendly and amazing hosts. The house was beautiful, warm, and cozy. There are so many beautiful arts and collections inside the house, we feel like we are living in the gallery. We hope one day we will have more time to go over the history of each collection you have in the house. Four days in the city is not long enough.
Everything in the house matched the pictures and descriptions here on the website. On top of that, 2 minutes walk from your front door to subway station is icing on the cake. The neighborhood is nice with many shops and restaurants. We wish we have more time to explore Brooklyn and the city. Until then, stay warm and say hi to Sissy (the dog) for us.
It was the first trip to New York and we had a few days with Chris and Don spend. We were made to feel very welcome to us from the first minute. Even our very late arrival due to flight changes was not a problem. Both have given us lots of tips and for the departure Don has organized our taxi.
The Town House is quietly but are around a lot of restaurants and bars. With the subway you do not need long to Manhattan.
We can only recommend Chris & Don, they are very attentive and welcoming hosts. We will gladly come again!
What a GEM in the heart of Cobble Hill. Chris and Don are hospitable, generous and gracious hosts. The room is quiet, comfy, private and clean. Great bathroom! Super location convenient to Smith St. and Court St. shopping and dining. I highly recommend Chris & Don's Brooklyn pad!
We're a friendly outgoing couple who loves entertaining and meeting new people. New York has been our home since 2005 and we like to share our knowledge of the city with out-of-town friends and visiting guests. Don works in the commercial real estate field and Chris is entrenched in the world of advertising and healthcare technology. We are both originally from the Midwest and have traveled throughout the US and Europe, with a little Central America thrown in for good measure. We have a Norfolk Terrier who is a trained and registered therapy dog. She is very well behaved, mild-mannered and does not shed.
