Huge apartment with lots of plants and 14' tall ceilings in Pilsen. My place is perfect for folks that are traveling with lots of gear that they want to keep inside rather than out in their vehicle. Families must have kids that love dogs and no little ones under the age of 10! I don't have a T.V. but I do have a lot of board games.
I used to host two different listings in this space but I have decided to switch it up and offer the entire front of the apartment as one listing. You will have 2 private bedrooms.
One bedroom has a queen sized bed and small closet.
The other bedroom has a full sized lofted bed and a extra long single sized bed underneath. The futons in the living room are both a full sized bed when not in couch form.
I live in a private bedroom in the rear of the apartment with my own entrance. I will be sharing the bathroom and kitchen with you. I will keep things tidy but expect you to do the same.
My dog Puck will bark every time you come home but he is all talk. I will not tolerate guests that are scared of dogs. Please find another place to stay if you are the least bit shy about hanging out with Puck!
I charge $59/ night for solo travelers and ask for $10 more per person up to 4 total. So 2 guests is $69/night, 3 guests is $79/night, 4 guests is $89/night. I do not negotiate between April and December. January through March I will happily extend special offers.
FYI I had to ditch the couch in the pictures due to it falling apart. I'll have to update the pictures soon.
Full access to everywhere except the back bedroom. I live there.
Interaction with Guests
I will be in and out so if you are home I'll make nice! Ask me anything you like, I've gotten pretty good at hosting after 3 years.
Fun neighborhood. Lots of good food and entertainment. Art gallery open studios every month on the 2nd Friday is less than a block away.
Less than 2 minute walk to buses or bike sharing station. Less than 10 minute walk to the nearest train station which gets you to any train you want in less than another 10 minutes.
Other Things to Note
I have one party on the second Friday of every month. If you are staying here on one of those Fridays you can join in on the fun or not, but I hope you will!
Please do not bring anyone else back to the apartment. Keep tidy in the kitchen but feel free to use all of the gear. Make yourselves at home!
We had a very good stay. Interesting location with lots of character. Greg was well organized, highly amenable and a very interesting guy to meet. Sadly, the dog was at the vet so we never got to meet the dog. Neighborhood is in the early stages of gentrification, very safe but it's a good walk to most amenities. Highly recommend the "Board and Beer" at 18th and Racine. Location is ideal for those arriving by car but planning to take the "L" downtown.
We really enjoyed our time in Chicago in Gregory's awesome apartment. I can highly recommend both, the host and the apartment.
My boyfriend and I recently celebrated our 2 year anniversary at Greg's. It was a spectacular celebration! Greg allowed us to bring in a private chef for the evening, and also 2 other couples to join our dinning festivities. He let us move his place around to fit the mood of the night. He was an awesome host, very friendly, and talkative. He also gave us a lot of privacy. His space is decorated with beautiful plants and a gorgeous tree. The rooms are amazing and the ceilings are really high! If you're about organic vibes and a down to Earth feel, Greg's is definitely a place to stay!
Greg was a total pro-host. Within a few mins of arriving, he made us at home, gave us a run down of logistics for the space, and highlighted the best of the neighborhood, and Chicago. Greg's recommendations became our staples in Pilsen - he knows the area and folks well. His place is truly unique, with stories behind art pieces scattered around the apt. Based on his description, we know what we were getting into by staying with Greg -- a beautiful, unique, art-filled space -- and would definitely stay with him again for our next trip to Chicago.
Gregory's place was in an interesting part of Chicago near some great, funky places like Dusek's, Skylark, and a few unique shops. The loft bunk bed was really fun and his place was huge! He gave us some great recommendations and was a really cool, hospitable guy!
Gregory's spot is beautiful. High ceilings, lots of natural light, plants galore. We had two bedrooms to choose from and the one with the loft bed and futon was so cozy and nice for my boyfriend and I in the middle of winter in Chicago. You do share a common living spaces with Gregory, which we found no issue with since he was so friendly and out of the house most of the time. I love the Pilsen neighborhood and would recommend this airbnb to anybody, especially those traveling with more than two people.
