There is a shared kitchen and 2 full bathrooms.
you can use the washer / dryer that is in the bigger bathroom. Just put one tablespoon of soap in the machine, if you put more then the machine will not wash it properly.
We stayed four nights in March. Great space and location. Close to everything. The two bathrooms are key to avoid overlap with any other guests and making your own meals in the full kitchen will save you money. We met Pétur, Rósa, and their 2 dogs and they were lovely. Sundhöllin Public Pool is very close and a great place to relax after a day of exploring. Takk fyrir
Placed perfectly on the main road of Laugavegur, this apartment was spacious enough for 8 people. The apartment was clean and fully stocked with smaller toiletries when we arrive. The common area was perfect to gather and hang out. Everything was within walking distance from this location. There was even two parking spaces for our rental cars. This spot was great.
A great location, clean, and right on the main street. Very convenient from the airport as well!
Wonderful guesthouse! Very convenient and centrally located, next to all the shops and restaurants. We had a very comfortable stay.
Rosa's guesthouse was perfect for our stay! While we didn't meet Rosa, her husband Peter stopped by and was a wealth of useful information for which tours to take and which to avoid, as well as explaining how to use the washer/dryer combo. He also recommended a few local pools that were amazing and very inexpensive.
The beds are incredibly comfortable, and everything was clean. The noise from the street was up close and personal, but if you are a light sleeper you will already be prepared with a sleeping mask and earplugs. The blinds/window coverings do not fully close, which is pretty much the only thing we would change about these wonderful accommodations.
The neighbourhood is a delight, very pedestrian friendly and full of boutiques, small hotels, restaurants and bars. As food and alcohol is very pricey in Iceland, we were very grateful for the kitchen.
Thank you Rosa for our excellent stay in Iceland!!
Hey Rosa, as ever, I had a very pleasant stay at your guest house on my way home to the UK - for the first time in the company of others; the new second bathroom bathroom suddenly made sense - still no queues! :) One again I appreciated having such a warm and cosy base in the centre of Reykjavik to retreat to because it rained again! Thanks muchly, Dennis
This is a great place to stay -- Rosa and Peter and very friendly, nice and helpful.
The apartment is great! Clean, comfortable and in a great location. The cool thing about this guest house is you get to meet other travelers staying in Iceland as well. We met really nice people and made new friends.
Rosa's place is in an amazing location. I booked a surprise trip for my husband and it was brilliant. You're right on Laugavegur, walking distance to great bars, restaurants, the centre, the harbour, everything. We walked everywhere except for the lights tour but they all pick up from a few doors down. It was very clean and though the walls are thin and the street lights are bright, we didn't have any problems (but we're used to London noise, it was quiet season and we were the only guests for most of the time so others may not feel the same).
My only issue was that we arrived very late from our flight and though we were given the code to the keybox, we didn't even know what room we were in (so which key to actually take). It wasn't a big deal but just make sure you ask Rosa ALL the questions you have as she doesn't give you more information that exactly what you've asked.
I'd definitely stay again. It's great for singles, couples, or if you have a group of you. It's also SO much cheaper than the hotels and hostels. And Reykjavik is one of the coolest cities I have been too. I wish I could go back right now.
Rosa's guesthouse was just what I needed. Located right in the heart of the city, the door was located right off the main street in town. I saw only one other person staying in the place briefly. Only stayed one night, but would happily stay again!
Rosa's Guesthouse is a great accomodation solution in Reykjavik. Located in the heart of the city in a traditional building, it was recently renovated and provides all comforts and amenities. Kitchen and bathrooms are clean, large and well equipped. The only negative note is about the room we stayed in, which was overlooking the main street and a bit noisy: moreover, windows could not be opened and therefore, the air was a bit stagnant.
