  • Wonderful relaxing stay, Estaban was away and his father Steven there. Neat host, enthusiastic and knowledgable about the area, transport and activities available in Quepos and around Costa Rica.
Yara kept the lodge lovely and clean and made tasty breakfasts for those that wanted it.
Really enjoyed having the pool and hammocks, close enough to town to walk yet in a nice quiet neighborhood.

  • I enjoyed my stay at Villas Jacquelina. I backpacked there from downtown Quepos. Taxi service was quick and cheap—making the Villas a nice and quiet retreat to stay outside of town. The bedroom, bathroom and pool were all very clean. My room had a big ceiling fan above the bed and a window, so the room was nice and cool at night. The thing I appreciated about Villas Jacquelina the most was the service. We were well taken care of by the staff. Snorkel gear was loaned to us to use at the beach. The breakfast was delicious (and cheap). I even received shuttle service from the staff to the Quepos bus station upon checkout. All in all, a great experience. Thank you

  • Villa Jacquelina was awesome! Esteban and his family were so friendly, hospitable, and knowledgeable about the area. The location was perfect; a short walk to the shops and beaches in Quepos, and very close to Manuel Antonio. We will definitely go back if we are in the area in the future!!

  • Villas Jacquelina is a nice place. However, the place is located on a dirt road full of gravel. It is a hard 15 minutes walk to town and in the evening the dirt road is very poor lit. I had a very big room with 2 full beds and 1 single bed. I was told I was getting the deluxe room for $60.00/night which was reduced to $45.00/night. My deluxe room did not have any air conditioner. It has a ceiling fun and not TV. (3 beds for 1 person) It seems that the rooms do not have any TV sets. On my last night, there was not hot water and Esteban could not fix the boiler because it was too dark too work on it. On the plus side, Esteban is a nice guy who came to pick me up to the bus station and welcome me with a coconut water. In addition, they would give a ride to anyone to the bus station early in the morning. Breakfast was good.

  • Esteban and his crew were fabulous hosts. They made sure that all of my friends and I were comfortable and treated like we were part of their family! Esteban even went out of his way and cooked an ABSOLUTELY amazing fish dinner for all of us! Besides the breakfast tacos he made us the next day, it was probably the most delicious meal we had in Costa Rica!! Also thank you to EM for the awesome yoga class! There is no better spot in the world to do yoga than on top of Villa Jacquelina, facing the morning sun, while listening to all of the birds and animals that surrounded us! The Zendo team will definitely be back next year to stay at the Villa Jacquelina!

  • From the moment I arrived to the moment I left I felt incredibly welcomed, at ease and at home at Villas Jacquelina. Esteban was helpful, informative and absolutely delightful! VJ is clean, quiet, BEAUTIFUL and hands-down my new favorite home away from home. I can't wait to go back! It has everything you need: a fully equipped kitchen, pool, CLEAN bathrooms, sweeping views, indoor and outdoor eating and lounging, guide books and attractions catalogs. There is even a daily shuttle to downtown Quepos and rooftop yoga! I HIGHLY recommend letting Esteban take care of you while abroad. I'll be back!! See you sooner than later I hope!

  • Esteban and his staff are very friendly and helpful. The daily breakfast is amazing and there is yoga ($8) offered at 7a.m. in the morning. You think that's early, but it's actually perfect since it's not bloody hot yet. The location is a bit out of Quepos but I like that since it's quiet. The walk into town isn't bad at all and there are plenty of good restaurants in town if you don't want to go to Manuel Antonio to eat. The hostel is beautiful and clean; the staff take a lot of pride in keeping their facility tidy and customers happy.

  • While we were at villas Jacqueline ,Esteban's family was arriving and it made the stay even more enjoyable. They are very friendly group and very welcoming. We shared meals with the owners and had a great time. It is far enough away from the noise of downtown yet close enough to walk there. Thanks for teaching us some great games....especially the dice game lol. :)

  • Villas Jacquelina is a quaint hotel/hostel about a 15 minute walk from the town of Quepos. Great kitchen for cooking your meals. Eating /lounging area with hammocks and great views! The pool was much needed on those hot days! Beds are comfortable, bathrooms (shared) stay very clean! Daily shuttle to the Quepos bus station - it's an easy 15 minute ride to Manuel Antonio. Esteban is a fantastic host - friendly, knowledgeable, easy-going and fun! The rest of the staff was equally friendly and pleasant! I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and ability to meet other travelers. I didn't want to leave!

  • We had a great time here. There's as so much wildlife in and around the hostel - we saw iguanas, a praying mantis, exotic birds and even a crab and frog - and that's just around the room. Then there's the glorious National Parks. Steve was really helpful with local knowledge and he happily gave anyone a lift in a morning for shopping, tours, etc. The eating area became a grotto with twinkly lights at night and being able to cook was great.

I am a 24 year old recent San Diego State University graduate. I moved to Costa Rica 2 years ago to help my Dad and his Costa Rican Family start our business (villas jacquelina). I love sports and good times and am always doing things in the area. I know everything to do in the area and often inform my guests on where to go and what to do. I am an amazing host because it is what i love to do and I value each person that passes through my place. Staying with us is like staying with family.
