Welcome to The Conservatory, tucked into the heart of the charming, historic village of Horton Bay. Conveniently located in the middle of the “golden triangle” of Boyne City, Petoskey, and Charlevoix. The Horton Bay beach and boat launch is a short walk (less than 5 mins) and closer yet to the Horton Bay General Store.

The space is thoughtfully designed to give you a comfortable, inspiring stay using timeless, vintage furniture and decor with an earthy, modern vibe.

The space
The house has recently been fully renovated to give you a relaxing, inspiring, and comfortable stay. The space features 3 unique bedrooms with incredibly comfortable queen size beds, two full bathrooms, a full kitchen, breakfast nook, dining area, TV/recreation room, reading nook, and of course the glass conservatory room! You will LOVE all the natural light that the space offers. Likewise, the wonderful star gazing at night through the towering, vaulted windows cannot be beat! Each room has been curated to give you a sense of peace and tranquility.

Neighborhood highlights

Peaceful, quiet neighborhood with close proximity to the historic Horton Bay School House, The Redfox Inn book store, and the the Horton Bay General Store. Horton Bay is known for its quirky, lively people - exemplified by the comedic Horton Bay 4th of July Parade through the hamlet put on by locals dating decades back. You'll find yourself thinking about days past when Ernest Hemingway spent his youth wandering the hills of Horton Bay hunting and fishing the local stream - highlighted in his book "The Nick Adams Stories." He celebrated his marriage with breakfast at the Pinehurst Lodge, a mere 100 yards from The Conservatory and spent many afternoons at the Horton Bay General Store. As you enjoy your walk down to the Horton Bay launch and beach, you can imagine the bustling logging operation that happened in the late 1800s and carried through the turn of the century. If you put on a pair of swim goggles (and are determined) you can still find old nail shanks and railroad spikes! Overall, you will fall in love with the natural beauty, the old trees, the rolling hills and farmland, and of course - the lake!
