About this listing
We are located on top of the hill above Foxburg and the Foxburg Golf course, You can walk to the golf course from the cottage, but would want a car to drive down the hill into Foxburg. about 1 mile. There are: 2 restaurants, 1, open for breakfast.
The cottage is private and complete, with one double bed and a queen size futon couch, a 40 inch big screen TV with DVD, & Direct TV. The cottage is located away from the stone home. It is connected to the house via a 20 by 20 ft, setting area, that has a grill and large table under it. It has Wifi, Direct TV, heat, and a/c. There is a microwave, small refrigerator, dishes, with silverware, but no kitchen. It is a one bedroom, living room, bath all in one area. A divider between the bath and the bedroom! Outside stairs up to the cottage, easy parking and you can, if you wish, walk down a little path to the golf course.
There is a gas barbecue, and a nice sitting area outside with couch and love seat, etc. Also a long table if you wish to cook outside on the grill. It is a remolded private stone cottage located on our property just above the oldest operating golf course in USA. The Foxburg Golf Course. We are located just 4 miles off of Interstate I-80, yet we are in a remote quite area! Just up the hill form Foxburg. There is canoeing on the Allegheny River, bike rentals, Segway and horse carriage tours on the historic Riverstone mansion. This mansion was given to Mr. Fox by William Penn!
Two great restaurants in Foxburg: one is up scale,
The Allegheny Grill: For information on the Allegheny Grill, go to: (website hidden) This "Grill" has been voted on having one of the best views of all restaurants in USA! The other is "Foxburg Pizzia" a nice pizza and sub's shop, serving a great breakfast, Also a winery is in "downtown" Foxburg, with outside seating! But missing, is Mac Donald's, gas stations, 7-11's. etc.! Close to Grove City College, Slippery Rock College, and Clarion State College!
It is a non smoking and no pets cottage. We have one friendly dog on the premisses. However the cottage it totally pet free, as their has never been any pets in the cottage since I remodeled it, and before that, for at least 20 years!
Foxburg is a town of only about 200 people, the golf course offers a leisurely pace, so you can golf at your own speed. You will find the cottage, very clean, and neat, with everything you will need for your stay, coffee, water, soft drinks, and little beer, and if you need anything, just let us know! We are also just 1 mile from the Allegheny river with its canoe, bike rentals, and Segway tours. We are a friendly host and will do whatever it takes to make your stay enjoyable. Check out the Web Site: (website hidden) for information on whats going on this month in Foxburg and the Allegheny River.

Other Things to Note
The Foxburg Pizza shop serves great breakfast, lunch and dinner, if you do not want the the higher end Allegheny Grill dinning experience, they serve lunch and dinners with great view of the Allegheny River!
No Smoking, dogs are ok, but check with us. Note one of the two beds is a fold out futon, the other is normal size double bed. The bathroom adjoins the bedroom, and there is a divider to keep it private. There are steps up to the cottage. Children under 5 may stay for free. Just don't include them in the number of guest staying.
The surrounding area is beautiful and serene. My daughters and I enjoyed the quiet and relaxing atmosphere The apartment is spacious and cozy. The ved was comfortable and so was the futon for one of my daughters. We enjoyed sitting and having tea together at the table provided in the nook and also having the refrigerator our breakfast foods. Richard has created a lovely place for guests to visit and have an enjoyable retreat. We were happy that Grove City College was a short 25 minute drive through the countryside where we visited my daughter.
This was an amazing place! Rick and Lerma were very friendly, accommodative and helpful! The house is surrounded by pine trees and the air is really fresh so with the windows opened even my mom was sleeping well. The upper floor apartment is very cozy, clean and comfortable for three people. Rick kindly let us using his portable gas grill and took us for fishing trip next morning.
Great experience! Highly recommend it to anyone who is gonna travel to Foxburg.
Richard and Lerma were extremely accommodating and responsive. They lost power and made sure we would have what we would need but, the power came back on before we arrived.
The cottage was exactly what is pictured. It was perfect for our one night stay. If you're going to be in Foxburg, PA, stay here!
The stone is a good value. Interior tastefully furnished works well for two people. Ability to prepare and clean up a meal is limited, but pleasant and comfortable for sharing meal. Pretty exterior surroundings.
Richard and Lerma were wonderful hosts! We arrived rather late but they still greeted us warmly, toured us around our cottage and gave us some suggestions for things to do the next day. The cottage was cozy, complete with a comfy bed, coffee maker and they even stocked the mini fridge with bottled water and beer! We wish we could have stayed longer!
We stopped at Foxburg on our road trip across the country with our 18-month old son, and Rick and Lerma were very welcoming despite us getting lost and arriving much later than we expected. The cottage was exactly as described, and was situated a bit outside of "town" (which is just about 6 stores or so along the Allegheny River). Rick also kindly gave us a ride back to the cottage after we rode down a big hill to get to town for brunch :)
Richard was a delightful host! We booked very shortly before arriving, and everything was perfectly arranged for our arrival. We were in and out like a storm on our way back to New York, but Richard's welcomeness was palpable in even such a short amount of time. The space is gorgeous, adorably situated in a tiny little riverside town, and a great stop for any weary traveler or eager vacationer. Would stay again!

About the Host, Richard
We are a married couple living in Foxburg PA. In a 100 year old stone home that was originally part of the old (1789) Fox estate! We re-moldeled our stone cottage about 3 year ago, for my sons to use when they would fly in from Colorado to visit. But found out that they only come for about 3 days a year as they are so busy with there own car business in Longmont Co. So we now are part of Airbnb!
The home and garage are about 100 years old. We were living in Delray Beach Fl. but found it to busy and crowded, for us, so we have relocated here to a more remote area in Western PA.. There are no Mac Donald's, 7/11's, gas stations nor crowds. From the Cottage we see bears, turkey's and deer etc, We love the quite and remote settings. The Foxburg golf course is the oldest in USA and you can walk to it from the cottage, in less then 5 minutes. Also you can canoe the Allegheny River, fish, ride the bike trails, and walk along a old railroad bed that runs along the Allegheny River. We will welcome you and enjoy having someone use our cottage. I ran my own airplane dealership (Piper) for 40 years in Boulder Colorado, before moving to Delray Beach FL. Lerma grew up in Cebu in the Philippines, we have been married for 4 years. We have a condo in Delray Beach Florida, that we have listed now on this site, for your use, if you wish. Thanks from Lerma and Rick
