I offer a nice loft in Barcelona's Gothic, in a very quiet street but just 2 minutes from many exciting and colorful places: Port Vell, Born, Plaça Sant Jaume, Barceloneta and Las Ramblas. The apartment is in the main a property listed as city heritage. Although in the eighteenth century was profoundly changed, this building retains the medieval structure XV century. Fully refurbished to preserve its original charm, with high ceilings and large windows have been preserved stone walls and windows and wooden beams. His curiosity is that the shower is located where once stood the old well of the building. Amenities are fully present, air conditioning, heating, wifi, bathrooms and fitted kitchen. The master bedroom is on the second level with a dressing and toilet. In the lounge area there are two comfortable sofa beds. In the apartment next door we have “Gótico Barcelona CORREU VELL XS”, also published on the web. The two together are a good option for traveling with friends together, but not mixed.

Great apartment in the most fantastic location.
Clean, comfortable and convenient. Defiantly recommend.
I really really wish I could give this place 5 amazing stars because it is truly a beautiful space that was everything we needed, BUT the minus one star (which may have been a minus 2 or 3 for others is the obnoxious noise factor!!!)
Let me begin with the one complaint before I dive into the positive. Upon arrival we were told that there are two young russian girls living in the apartment next door. We were a young group there in Barcelona with high hopes of partying, but OH MY GOOOOD did these girls take partying to another level!! I mean SCREAMING, SINGING, POUNDING TECHNO MUSIC, GROUPS OF PEOPLE SCREAMING EVERY NIGHT OF OUR STAY FROM 11PM TO 8 AM, every single night. Lots of people going in and out. They had very little respect for us and I literally wish I could post the videos I recorded of their obnoxious behavior, it made it very difficult to get an ounce of sleep.
BUT besides that! It is such a beautiful space is ideal for a group of four. It is in a really quirky part of the gothic quarter just about 5-7 minutes away from las ramblas. I loved the alleys and picturesque cafes in the area. The area was safe and very accessible. Only one flight up which made getting luggage up very easy.
The place looks even better in person with two lovely little balconies, a little terrace in the stairwell, great/comfy linens and blankets, comfy pull out beds, and over all great furniture. It was actually nice to not have a tv and allowed for great friend time. There is a small kitchen that is very functional and lovely. Two toilets and a bathroom that was very clean and water was very hot!
Checking in was great and quick. She was so lovely and so helpful.. It really makes a difference when you deal with great people. Thanks again, we truly loved the flat!
Again, great place, definitely stay here, I will again next time I'm in Barcelona! Just dont stay here if loud noises will bother you.
Also, Tiny note, while the ladder up to the bedroom is adds personality to the flat, it makes it difficult to get luggage up so we kept our downstairs.
Great apartment, great hostess!
As other visitors confirmed already earlier: loft looks in reality exactly as beautiful as on the pictures. Location: just perfect within El Born / Gothic Quarter.
Mónica was very helpful and always available.
Highly recommended & absolutely our address for upcoming stays in BCN again!
This is a very cool loft, in a very cool neighborhood.
We enjoyed our stay here very much. We found the location to be perfect. The loft is clean and is exactly as it looks in the pictures.
We would definitely recommend it!!!
Though the size and space of the apartment is solid in actuality it is much darker than the pictures shown. It is located in an alleyway so there is not much natural light. The location is prime.
Good location in the Gothic Quarter close to all Barcelona attractions.
Excellent WIFI connection & great host was extremely helpful for example Glaenzel booked a taxi for us to the airport. This helped us greatly as we needed to be at the airport 6am & as we were not familiar with Barcelona this ensured that we didn't miss our flight.
Can be a little noisy at night from the alley way the apartment is situated on as well as the others in the apartment block, but is an old building in the Gothic area so noise travels & echoes easily.
Air conditioning unit does not cope with the heat that gets trapped in the upper loft area so on hot days sleeping can get uncomfortable.
But otherwise a great unit in a fantastic location.
Great apartment in an amazing area! The loft was perfect for my husband and I. Great spacing, loved the lofted bedroom and the bed is very comfy. The area was amazing, right near a lot of amazing restaurants and bars, plus very close to the beach. We felt very comfortable and safe in the area. Thanks for a great stay!! We'll be recommending this loft to all of our friends :)
The apt looks exactly like its pictures - beautiful and elegant. The location is great for me since I have always wanted to live in Gotico. This is not the apt for those who want to stay away from tourist area. The apt is located just above the ground level (so 1st floor for Americans and Canadians) therefore you would hear noises from the street. There are a few bars around so be warned of minor noises during the weekend.
Monica is great and very responsive. The only issue I had was the building lost electricity for a few hours. Monica responded in a few mins and promised to come take a look. Fortunately, the electricity was restored even before she came.
This apt is great for singles or a couple.
We stayed three weeks in June in this loft, and really enjoyed our visit. The apartment is just as described and shown in the photos. Not mentioned is that there are a couple of small balconies, which offer a nice view onto the street and restaurant terrace.
The neighborhood is quiet and safe-- we never felt in danger walking home late at night. Keep in mind that "quiet" is relative in the Gothic Quarter. The alleys are narrow and stone, so sounds do drift in from normal street noise-- conversations, cleaning crews, etc. You will have this anywhere in the old quarters. But this apartment is a very quiet and low-traffic area.
Monica was a good hostess and quick to respond to any requests.
We slept on both the loft bed and the couches, and found them to be comfy. It gets a little warm in the loft even with the AC. Downstairs its 2-3C cooler. (18C downstairs, maybe 20-21 up). The kitchenette includes cooktop, fridge, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, and all cookware/dishes. Good for making small meals. There's a supermarket two minutes away for any food or toiletry needs.
The apartment was very spacious for two people. It's ideal for a family or four people who don't mind sharing a big open space. The XS unit next door would probably be fine for two people. We liked stretching out in the big unit though.
Wifi worked very well, and there were plenty of outlets for charging, etc. The water was hot and plentiful. There's no TV or clock/alarm-- you're on vacation!
This apartment is at the southeast end of the Gothic quarter. Ten minutes walk to La Ramblas or the cathedral. Fifteen minutes to Placa de Catalunya. Five minutes to the Jaume I metro. It's a very central place to stay.
Some small cons:
* It is noisier than you'll have at a modern hotel with double glazed windows. You'll find this at any apartment in old town. Normal dinner is maybe 9-11pm, so there's some conversation noise from people walking home until about 12, even with the windows shut. Again, this is one of the quieter areas of the Gothic.
* The ladder to the loft takes some getting used to. If you're mobility impaired or afraid of ladders, it might be an issue. That said, you could do well staying on the first floor which has its own bathroom, and the shower and kitchen.
* We found the amenities clean and functional, but not luxury grade. This would be typical of a European three-star hotel.
Overall we would highly recommend this unit for short or long term stays for anyone looking to experience old Barcelona.
Wonderful flat in the heart of the Gothic quarter! Surrounded by great restaurants and very close to the Borne as well. Beautiful and hard to say negatives, but a little darker inside than thought, quite dusty due to the nature of the old building and the stairs to the loft could pose a few problems for some. All in all a nice flat!
