Great location and great space. Really handy to everywhere and allowed a great taste of Barcelona. A novelty to be so close to our neighbours but also part of the charm of the gothic quarter. We didn't get to meet Glaenzel - her assistant Lola was very nice though we were somewhat surprised to be charged a 25 euro fee upon arrival for a late check-in - something we weren't advised of in advance. The loft experience was wonderful but the ladder up to the bedroom is not for the faint hearted!
We had such a great time in Barcelona, staying in this stylish and perfectly located apartment. Everything was perfect, I would definitely stay there again!
Appartement is prima, functioneel, schoon. Ik vind de trap naar boven wel een beetje gevaarlijk, hee steil en geen leuning. Dat zou ik veranderen als ik de verhuurder was. Bedbank is ook okay. Dubbel bed boven is top! We werden vriendelijk en goed ontvangen door de verhuurder. We gaan zeker terug naar dit appartement als we weer in Barcelona zouden verblijven!
We had a lovely stay at this loft in Barcelona. It was clean, had the amenities we were looking for, and you can't beat the location. Yes, it's a bit darker than the photos, but that's to be expected in the Gothic Quarter. Personally, the ladder took some getting used to, but there were no problems - my husband even carried our suitcases up so we could have them in the dressing area; it wasn't that difficult. Glaenzel and Lola were incredibly responsive and helpful leading up to the trip (and during!), which made the whole process go really smoothly. The loft itself is right within walking distance to lots of shops, restaurants, cafes, etc; we never had to venture out very far to find a delicious meal. We hope to return one day!
L'appartement était tel que nous le souhaitions, juste parfait et très bien situé ! Nous le recommandons de tout coeur. Merci pour tout.
I unfortunetly was not the first one to arrive into the flat so I did not meet the owner and don't have a personal review. However the apartment was as nice as the pictures and in a great location. One comment would be that cleanliness was not so great with no extra toilet paper, tissue paper or any paper at all in the apartment. It was difficult to set up yourself in the bathroom as there was no sink counter top or table to place your tooth brush etc.
The flat is in a great location for sightseeing! All the museums, bars, restaurants are close by so it's a great base. The internet works really well, the shower is great for temperature and pressure and the sheets and towels were very clean and soft. There are more plugs in this flat that you ever thought possible, so you will always have all your devices charged.
However, the flat is slightly awkward. The ladder (that's the only thing you can call it) is precarious and it's difficult to take the suitcase upstairs to leave your clothes in the wardrobe. There is very little light, but as previous reviews mention, this is to be expected as the buildings are very close together. Also if you're not a couple and want to stay here be prepared for very little privacy. There are no doors in the flat apart from the downstairs bathroom and even that has a hole in the ceiling which goes through to the wardrobe. It seems to me that this used to be a cafe or a restaurant that has been converted into a flat.
I was also disappointed that even though I kept in constant contact with the host and tried my best to arrive before 8pm from the airport (only 15 mins late), I was charged 25 EUR. This was listed in the description, but it seemed very pedantic and an unfriendly way to make money. I was however given good directions by Lola and left a map of the city and the metro, which was very useful.
Overall, a decent flat, but don't think I'd stay here again if I came to Barcelona.
Usually I get my guests personally but having family I can not receive them at night. For that reason I send to someone to whom I owe compensate. Sorry, if you didn't like it but it's the best I can do not to increase the rent.
Regarding the shower, it is located where the well of the building was formerly (S XIV), so we liked to keep it.
