About this listing
Nice room, comfy bed, quiet house and quiet neighborhood. Driveway parking, close to Nike and Intel.
This is a spare bedroom that I call the "Cloud Room" because ---you guessed it----it has clouds painted on the walls. It's bright and sunny due to east and south facing windows on the second story with a nice alcove at the south window for reading. It's about 10x12 and has a comfortable double size bed (that converts back to a sectional couch) and the guest bath is located immediately adjacent to the room and has a full bath. There is no private entrance and the room is located just at the top of the stairs. The stairs are located just inside the front entry so coming in and getting to your room is relatively private.
Use of the kitchen is included so long as no meat is cooked (it's a vegetarian household). There is plenty of parking as the house is in a cul-de-sac in a residential neighborhood.
Speaking of the neighborhood, this area is definitely suburban with a couple of strip malls located within walking distance, but primarily this area is best accessed with a car. That said, there is public transit access (bus) off SW 170th Avenue which goes to the closest MAX station which is the Elmonica/SW 170th station at SW 170th and just north of Merlo Drive.
Nike Headquarters is just under 4 miles away. We are a 15 minute drive or less to the various Intel campuses and the Hillsboro Airport. There's plenty of shopping less than 10 minutes away including the Beaverton Farmers Market (May-Oct).
Only one person lives in the home is quiet, hence your stay would be mellow and quiet.
Of note, the home is passive solar and has the hot water is supplied by a solar hot water heater and the room has a portable heater for cold weather months and uses a window fan for warmer months.
There is no smoking allowed.
Entry to the home is shared and not private. The room is located straight up the stairs from the front entry. The private full bath located just outside the private room.
Interaction with Guests
Usually present during guest's stay and will always welcome them. Beyond that the interaction is minimal.
Quiet. In a cul-de-sac. The guest room is in the back of the house on the second floor and looks out to s nice green space. Lots of birds and pleasant croaking of frogs in the spring and summer.
Parking is free. I live in a cul-de-sac in a suburb so there is plenty of free and close parking.

Steven was a nice and respectful host. He accepted our reservation at a late hour without question. The house and room were nice and clean. We enjoyed our stay. Kelli
We enjoyed our stay in the cloud room- comfortable bed and restroom facilities. Our host Steven was pleasant and to the point in check-in/check-out. Thanks Steven!
Great location away from the city and not too far from Oregon's West coast! The neighborhood was nice and safe and Steven was friendly and very accommodating. He was there to greet me and show me the house and go over the wifi and walked me through the door lock process.
Restaurants are not too far at all... I did have a rental car so If You Aren't Driving you might have a different experience with the location.
Steven was very considerate in providing an extra towel for my guest and gave us some good travel tips!
Steven was a great host. Even tho he was really busy he made sure I had everything I needed and made me feel at home, which was really impressive considering all the things he was doing. The room was as described, clean, comfortable and organized. The house is located in a really nice neighborhood as well. Steven was also very communicative and let me know he was going to be busy during my stay, making sure I was OK with it, which was really considerate.
I checked in late at night, and still felt welcome. The room is bright and comfortable. It is in a cheerful hue of sunshiney blue. Everything was clean and neat, even the bathroom. Steven was a great host, friendly, straightforward kind of guy.
I was in Beaverton for a family event and stayed with Steven. Upon arriving, I immediately felt welcome by him and the check in process was quick. He was very organized with a everything in already ready, including a clean room and private bathroom, nice towels, easy to access outlets, and a fan to make the room more comfortable during an unprecedented heat wave.
Throughout my stay, Steven made me feel like I was a welcomed guest in his home and not a stranger staying in his house. He was friendly and very attentive. And he provided me his great smoothie recipe.
Given the opportunity, I would gladly stay with Steven again.
Steven is a fantastic host. The listing was exactly as he described it, and was a cozy place to rest our heads. Thanks for making us feel at home?
