  • We had a very nice stay ! Carrie was very welcoming, always available and helpful giving us some good advice for what to do or where to eat around Kihei.
Great location, very central in Maui.
Everything provided: beach towels, sheets, bodyboard, beach bag, cooler... Even great local breakfast !
    Thanks for everything

  • Carrie & Marty were awesome hosts! Soo nice and helpful.
Their Ohana is really outstanding! There could not have been a better place for our Maui-Adventure. Carrie provides a sensational breakfast with self-made banana bread. Yummy.. ;-)
We highly recommend this place to everyone planning a trip to Maui.

  • Had a wonderful time in Carrie's beautiful loft! It was absolutely cozy, comfortable and private making my 4 night stay well worth it. It is located in a perfect location in Kehei with easy access to the Highway, town and beaches. Carrie has thought of everything to make the stay as comfortable as possible. I would absolutely recommend Carrie's loft to anyone looking to stay in the area. Thank you so much Carrie!! I look forward to staying with you again in the near future. Mahalo! :)

  • The garden, deck are impressive,.location is ok . the living space not really comfortable, you have to cross the whole deck to go to your washroom "2 pieces", and the shower located in the owner laundry room."quite small"

    March 2014
    Response from Carrie:

It is always our intent that our Ohana is a good fit for our guests needs and comfort, that is why our Ad Description & Photos are VERY detailed on Exactly what layout and expectations are. I WISH TO COMMENT--> When you fist did your Inquiry to Book- my 1st Reply was the following: "Aloha Trinh & Allan! We look forward to meeting you. Please read through our House rules and Description- it should answer any questions you may have. -Mahalo! -Carrie :)"
-> The Shower stall is a standard size: 38" x 34", so not sure why you felt is was "quite small". Sad that you made no mention of our hospitality; my serving you fresh fruit, juice, bread each morning, or providing all the amenities and extras. I did enjoy sharing my very limited Vietnamese language skills with you and wish you well. -Aloha.

  • Very small, but full of aloha inside! It was great being able to use the beach chairs and boogie board!

    March 2014
  • Super cute place, and the bed was so comfortable!! We really enjoyed staying here. Carrie was a great host and her banana bread was amazing :)

    February 2014
  • Quaint accommodation, in a nice location. Carrie was a gracious host and shared lots of local information with us. The banana bread and fresh fruit was outstanding and we looked forward to it every morning. The Ohana is very clean as is the bathroom and shower facilities. The only thing I would of liked is a microwave to heat up our leftovers and maybe make some popcorn! The gardens are beautiful, unfortunately we were unable to enjoy them as it rained most of our stay.

    February 2014
    Response from Carrie:

Aloha Yvonne, We did have a microwave in the Ohana, but found that no one used it. Mahalo for your feedback of it being useful. We enjoyed hosting you folks.

  • I only had the opportunity to stay at Carrie and Marty's cottage for one night, but definitely enjoyed my stay. The cottage is clean and inviting, with lush grounds and a beautiful patio space/deck. I stayed in Kihei one night so I could go snorkeling in Makena the next morning before I flew back to Portland. This was the perfect place to stay.

Carrie really took the time to make the Ohana as comfortable as possible and you can tell she really has a passion for making the space a welcome place for guests. She paid attention to all the smallest details - from decorating to posting notes around the Ohana, to providing maps, guides, and other amenities for her guests.

I would recommend this as a great place to stay if you're doing activities in Kihei, Wilea, or any of the surrounding areas. Keep in mind, however, that it is located in a subdivision in the north end of town - not really within walking distance to anything. So as long as you have a rental car, you're good to go - with Kihei's beaches and attractions only being a couple of minutes away by car.

All in all, a great experience!

  • You can really have a good time in Kihei but dont forget to read the house rules. Mahalo for everything! We had a good time.

    January 2014
  • Kihai has the most beautiful beaches on the Island. Carrie took very good care of us. We especially loved the large open deck in the back, with all the comfy chairs. And the breakfast of fresh fruit and her special banana bread served out there every morning.

Self employed, I manufacture Natural Massage Lotion, & also do Graphic Design/Printing.
Aloha!....I'm Carrie... I'm happily married 25 years. My husband & I love to cook, relax, and enjoy nature. We have 2 friendly dogs onsite: a F. Shep-Lab mix "Maggie", and a M. JR. Terrier, "Niblet" who is half couch-potato, half Jack Russell. Living only 4 blocks up from the Beach- we definitely enjoy Maui's Beach lifestyle; Swimming, walking the many amazing Beaches nearby, snorkeling, easy hikes, and generally exploring around the Island. Marty's been playing the Ukelele for a few years, and can play several authentic Hawaiian songs...a Heavenly treat to hear him gently strumming in the morning, or early evening. Our property has several Apple-Banana Trees onsite, Coconut Palms, Plumeria Trees and many types of Flowers that we utilize and enjoy. (ie. I bake Homemade Banana Bread using the Bananas right off our own trees, which I serve to our booked Guests). I dance Hula worship, make Plumeria Flower Leis as hobby, and love to decorate, create, read, cook, garden and bake. --Our favorite type of Guests? Relaxed, easy going, Quiet, considerate, low key and independent visitors are our favorite! You'll find our whole property super tranquil. : ) You will find us easy going, quiet, early-to-bed kinda people (early to bed, early to rise for the Beach, lol ). It's important for us to take time to enjoy life's beauty and peacefulness. We want you to feel our caring "Aloha", and feel like any Hawaiian "Ohana" (family)....Maui is a very special healing place and was our choice to move here to help my husbands longtime chronic pain condition. I manufacture and formulate Natural Massage Lotion, as well as my (main) job- Graphic Design & Print brokering for over 30 yrs. -Being able to utilize my artistic creativity has been a true blessing in creating, decorating, adding my own personal style in designing the Ohana, and property grounds. I really love decorating and creating, it makes me happy to see guests enjoy the environment we've worked so lovingly on. Maui's trade winds, fresh flowing breezes, the Ocean's high mineral salt content, along with all the minerals in the Sand of our many beaches, plus Maui's ambient year long temperatures- experience it, and you'll see why it is a health benefit for many who come here.....and a treat for many who return. We Love Hosting! we have met so many wonderful visiting couples- and we Really enjoy making you feel welcome & well treated ! Your vacation Ohana is very private and it is detached, (we sleep on the opposite end of the property)- so you have lots of privacy and alone time to come and go very independently. We've thought of many, little special details in setting up the Ohana, so our guests feel welcome and comfy.....and want you to enjoy the tropical Backyard and Ohana. By 9pm. all must be quiet, as Maui County wide has a strict ordinance, and we are committed to keeping peaceful existence with our nice neighbors, who are also quiet. :) ......its the Aloha way- to be mindful of others. We are originally from Southern California. We've been to The Big Island, Oahu, France, Germany, and a few states throughout the Mainland. Maui is our forever home now. Our favorite thing that's changed since moving here? .. is the Slower Pace......(the fastest road is 40 mph. (if you want to drive fast)....but expect to drive 20 - 30 m.p.h. on average :-) Maui pace is S-l-o-w,.. so... R e l a x- enjoy yourself ! , and take in all this Beautiful Island has to teach and show you ! (Ps. Fact: Maui Island has the Most Swimming Beaches of any of the Hawaiian Islands, 81 in all)- and where we're located is the Best Location to all those Amazing Beaches ! I tell my Mainland friends: I always wanted to live in a place that when I went on a Vacation- that's where I'd want to be! we live at that place we call "Our little slice of Paradise". Malama pono. e komo mai! Aloha Ke Akua Ka Koa
