Interaction with Guests
My partner and I lead fairly busy lives and don't tend to get to spend too much time with guests when they're visiting. However, we're always happy to sit and chat and tell you about Chicago but are also respectful towards guests who'd like more privacy. All are welcome.
-The Historic Neighborhood & Architecture

Public transit is incredibly convenient with multiple bus stops and lines right outside the front door. We're also located two blocks from the Metra train, which is a fast and easy way to get downtown. Cabs and Uber are also quick.

Generally, we're pretty laid back and have had some great guests. Our overall house rule can be best summed up, "Try to leave the space as you found it."
Convenient location. Average accommodations. Check in and check out process problematic.
Jocelyn made my stay during a hectic time, coming for my daughter's college graduation at UChicago, very seamless. I had different family members arriving at various times, and Jocelyn welcomed them all, making them feel right at home.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Jocelyn's space. As a UC alum, it was like returning to my old college days but in a much improved, bright and cheery apartment! The delightful walk to campus was about 20-25 minutes and we were even closer to the bike path along Lake Michigan. Jocelyn was most welcoming but also respected our privacy. I especially liked the books and artwork in our comfortable, clean room.
I loved staying at Jocelyn's and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine and warm Chicago host. Her home is very spacious, inviting and comfortable. Her and Colin are extremely warm and offered use of the entire space and even made amazing coffee the next morning. I walked less than 10 mins to multiple and fantastic food options and there's even an amazing record store in the neighborhood that delighted me to no end. 10/10!
My wife and I stayed in Jocelyn's wonderful home for five nights during the week of Thanksgiving, and we couldn't have dreamed up more comfortable or welcoming accommodations. The rooms are spacious and clean, the location is ideal (as many guests have pointed out), and Jocelyn herself is the most gracious of hosts. We were sad when our stay came to an end, and comforted by the thought that we are certain to return.
My husband and I visited Chicago for 5 days in October, and stayed with Jocelyn at her lovely Craftsman apartment in Hyde Park. Jocelyn had everything ready for us on our arrival - information about Chicago, wifi password, Starbucks coffee, and a myriad of little touches to make us welcome. We had a wonderful stay. The apartment is perfectly located for a visit to University of Chicago, a short walk to the Metra line and short 15 minute ride to downtown Chicago, and with bus stops virtually outside the door. We couldn't have asked for more.
