Wonderful place with a gorgeous view. Close to several beaches and Kona. The hosts were readily available and prompt to respond to any questions. We had a great time and would definitely recommend staying here.

My travel partner and I stayed 10 nights at the Kona condo. It was clean and well maintained. We loved the open and airy feeling it had. The view from the lanai was, well, awesome. To wake up to that every morning was a great way to start the day. We felt very comfortable with the surroundings and it was a short trip to just about every thing. I must say that the host, Paulette made herself readily available for any questions or concerns we may have had. Very much appreciated that. This was our 6th trip to the islands but our first experience with Airbnb. Everything was near perfect!

Paulette's Kona Condo is in a great location with an open and stunning view of the ocean. There were a few glitches since Paulette lives on the mainland and isn't able to personally oversee management of the property. I had problems accessing the key in the lock box, but Paulette sent someone over to open it (with a hammer!) and the problem was solved in just a few hours. We also had trouble finding the pool key, and raised the ire of the neighbors by climbing over the locked gate for a youngster's pool snorkel lesson before heading to the ocean. Since there is no wifi, I burned through my monthly allocation of data usage quickly in locating directions, finding restaurants and beaches, weather, etc. Paulette had made clear that wifi isn't available but I didn't adequately anticipate how much I rely on it internet for vacation information. Apart from these annoyances, the condo is spacious and comfortable, and it was lovely to have 2 BR with private bath for each. Located south of Kona, the condo is an easy drive into town to listen to music, eat out, enjoy the bustle of Kona, or head off easily to the refuge at Pu'u O Honaunau, snorkeling, or Volcanoes National Park.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The condo is fully stocked with all the little things you don't remember. Getting in was a breeze and Paulette was always very responsive. The open air lanai was really a unique experience. The geckos were very friendly! Can't wait to stay there again!! Reid Cowell. Chelan Washington

This is a wonderful, 2 bedroom condo in a good location with a gorgeous view of the Kona coast from the dining area table and veranda and we spent 9 great days here. It is well appointed and we were very appreciative that there was food and condiments available for our use in the fridge, shelves and pantry and we left extra food (jars, bags of tortilla chips, etc.) for those that came after us. There was also a washer/dryer, beach equipment, sunscreen, lotion and many other useful items that you don't find in a hotel or time share exchange. You felt like you were moving into the owners home. Overall the complex is very quiet - we rarely heard any neighbors and everything is kept very clean. The unit is very unusual in that there are no doors on the two bedrooms, which provides a great feeling of openness. Bedroom opening curtains provide sight privacy, but early risers or those going late to bed need to be very careful not to make noise to bother others in the unit. There is no Wi-Fi or TV in the unit, which was fine for us. We used our phones as "hot spots" and watched Netflix on our laptops when we wanted to watch something. We would definitely return.

The condo was well equipped and clean. It is in a quiet residential area and the view from the lanai is amazing. We could come earlier than planned due to hurricane Iselle. There bed in the masterbedroom was terribly uncompfortable (much too soft). There were no doors to close the livingroom or bedroom from the lanai, which meant that everything was always open, letting in the bugs, wind and rain. We were not informed about that in advance, though the owner knew there was a hurricane approaching and found that very misleading. We ended up spending two days moving furniture the knickknacks, tables, vases, etc. from the lanai and livingroom so nothing would get broken if the hurricane hit the building. After our holiday we emailed the owner and told her how upset we were about this and how scared we had been (we have two little children). The owner felt sorry and asked how she could make us feel better. We asked for a partial refund, but she flatly refused and offered no other form of compensation. She only said we should have gone to a hotel to wait out the hurricane. We fail to see how we could have gone to a hotel upon arrival at the condo with a hurricane fast approaching and most of the hotels being evacuated. We found this to be a very unpleasant and frightening experience and it was so disappointing beacause we had been looking forward to our once in a lifetime trip to Hawaii

Response from Frank:
I'm so sorry that the Decker family had their trip interrupted by the hurricane. I did my best to accommodate them and even made arrangements for them to come early. I would have gladly let them cancel the reservation and refund their money if they had found another place more suitable or if they had decided to leave the island before the hurricane hit. I also kept in contact with them and the neighbors. It was unfortunate timing for everyone concerned.

We stayed at Paulette's for two delightful weeks. It was very well equipped and roomy. The open lanai was very nice and airy. The washer and dryer are nice so you don't have to take too much clothes. the pool area was clean and sunny. Paulette was quite solicitous and called us to check on status. the location is convenient for Kona, just a few yards from Hwy 11 the main road on the island and close to a popular walking path for morning strolls. It was about 10 min to downtown Kona. The view was great. The only downside was that we had to leave.

I am one member of a family of five who shares in ownership of our Hawaiian condo. We are all from Montana but consider Kona our second home. We love the mountains, outdoors, sunshine, warm weather, fun times and the ocean. Hawaii offers all of those. It gives us pleasure to share our condo with people who want a place to rest, relax and retreat into the spirit and gentle ways of our island. We are family friendly and appreciate others who are thoughtful about sharing our home. As our guest, we try to make your stay informative, enjoyable and relaxing. One of our favorite things to do is to sit on the lanai soaking in the magical views of the ocean. We are sky mile fans and make as many trips over as possible. Probably our motto would be: Treat others as you would like to be treated. Aloha
