The space

Be our guest in rural Vermont! This quiet private space is located on the first floor of the back of our house and has its own entrance. It has a lovely bedroom, living room (with fireplace) and efficiency kitchen. In the master bedroom there is a queen bed, a bureau, a desk, closet and bathroom attached. The bathroom has a new generously sized walk-in tiled shower. For extra sleeping space, convert the full-size futon couch in the living room. The kitchen has a four element electric range with large oven, sink, a mini-refrigerator filled with breakfast goodies and beverages. Out the living room door is a private porch with comfortable chairs that looks out on our backyard. We can accommodate 1 big car or 2 compact cars. There is a TV in the living room and we have wireless internet.

It is a 3 minute walk over the Covered Bridge (on the Ottaquechee River) to the village of Woodstock, which is full of historical sites, restaurants and gift shops! River Street is the perfect place for a morning stroll to Faulkner Park or a hike up Mt. Peg or Mt. Tom. Winter travelers will enjoy our proximity to Suicide Six Ski Mountain (10- min. drive), Killington Ski Resort, Pico and Okemo (30 min. drive). You will be able to have a full day at the mountain, without the hectic environment of a ski town, and if there's a day you'd like to partake in other winter activities, we'll be happy to direct you to the best sledding hills/skating ponds etc. in the area.

We are 1.75 hours from Burlington, 1 hours from Montpelier, 2.5 hours from Boston MA and 30 minutes from Hanover and Lebanon, NH.

Guest access

Our airbnb space is located in the rear, downstairs section of our house. It has the feel of a completely private apartment with it's own private entrance, even though it has a separate connecting door to our main house. We have a year round tenant that lives upstairs, above the airbnb space and they have their own separate entrance.

Interaction with guests

The space is very private and we leave it up to the individual on how much interaction they desire. Many of our guests have visited Woodstock before so they know where they are headed. We are always available for suggestions on where to eat or go if needed.

The neighborhood

It is a walkers' paradise. 3 minutes walk to the Historic Village of Woodstock, 3 minutes walk to Faulkner Park, 3 minutes walk to the Ottauquechee River (swimming and fishing), 3 minutes walk to the Mt. Tom trails, 3 minute walk to the Library, Town Hall Theatre and local restaurants. 5 minute walk to Billing Farm and the Mt Peg trails.

House Rules
Check-in is after 2PM

Cassidy and Pete occupy the apartment directly above the airbnb space, so we expect everyone to be quiet during the evening, night and early morning hours. It is also a shared driveway so it is important to not block the access of others and keep your cars in the designated space. We are happy to accommodate families, but no more than 4 adults will be allowed per night.

Cassidy grew up just outside Woodstock, and after living in a few different places for a number of years, she is happy to be back to her small-town roots. She currently works as a potter for ShackletonThomas, making hand-made functional pieces on the potters wheel. She enjoys playing ukulele, cooking, swimming, gardening, traveling, and hiking. Cassidy and her husband, Pete, live in the apartment nextdoor to the airbnb. Although the airbnb space is owned by their landlord (Jed Dickinson), Cassidy has been cleaning the apartment for quite some time, and has recently taken over the management side as well.
