The Space

Private, sunny room in a very quiet, established east side neighborhood. You'll find a queen size bed with luxury linens, and a private bathroom in a neat house only 3 short blocks from the historic Sonoma Plaza. We request a two night minimum on holiday weekends.

Enjoy wine country and the charming town of Sonoma. Renowned restaurants, wineries, tasting rooms, shops and an art museum are all within walking distance. The Plaza currently has over 20 tasting rooms so you can partake and walk home without worrying about the drive.

For those who wish to explore further, there are shops that rent bicycles close by and hiking and walking trails; the hosts would be happy to suggest routes We have a couple of bicycles available for use.

Wireless internet, outside court yard with herb garden, a beautiful backyard and a petanque court (like bocce ball) for your use. You may have kitchen and laundry room privileges. Easy street parking in front of the house. We have a large but sometimes shy lap cat. Fresh coffee and juice available.

There is a lot going on in all seasons in Sonoma, The Tuesday evening Farmers Market is not to be missed; we also have a Friday morning Farmers Market where you can spot many of the town chefs planning their meals. The grape harvest in the fall brings people from around the world to enjoy the colors and aromas of the wine country and the olive harvest and festival in the winter keeps the action going year round.

There is an art museum and two small history museums to see as well as the historic mission, the Vallejo house and some interesting wine-related museums. The Olive Festival has the Blessing of the Olives in the mission in January, with wonderful music and speakers and there is an International Film Festival in early April.

We hope you enjoy our house, the town and neighborhood as much as we do.

Guest Access

Guests are welcome to use any of the outdoor areas. We have a very nice courtyard were they want to have coffee in the morning or maybe a glass of wine in the evening.

The Neighborhood

If you are here on Tuesday Evenings during the Summer and Fall we would really recommend that you visit our Farmers Market which is held in the Central Plaza. It's quite the social event. Everyone brings the kids,a bottle of wine, buys something to eat and makes an evening of it. A truly unique experience!

  • My mom and I really enjoyed staying with Bobbie and Pat. They had great information and maps left in the room and gave us ideas on which wineries to visit and where to find good restaurants. They were a very short walk from Sonoma Plaza. The room and bathroom were lovely. We really enjoyed Sonoma: the weather and the town.

  • My husband Gary and I had a wonderful experience staying at Bobbie and Pat's lovely home. The room was great and as advertised it was a short walk to the Sonoma Plaza. It was nice to be able to sit outside on the patio and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. Pat was a great host (we did not meet Bobbie since she was out of town) and gave us pointers on local wineries and wonderful places to eat. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay while in Sonoma. When we come back to the area - we will definitely stay at Bobbie and Pat's home if available. This was our first experience using airbnb and it really worked out well for us.

  • We had a short stay with Bobbi and Pat and enjoyed every minute. They are gracious hosts, their home is beautiful, neat and clean. They are very knowledgeable about the activities and restaurants available in the area. And the bed is super comfy.
Thank you, Bobbi and Pat for hosting us and we look forward to seeing you again in the future!

  • Bobbie and Pat were great hosts- flexible, thoughtful, welcoming without being pushy or intrusive. We stayed in Sonoma for a wedding my husband was in and our arrival time kept changing. They left a key with instructions and the room was just as described- clean, ready for our arrival and she even had bath robes for us! The bathroom was also clean and private. We would stay there again if we ever head back to Sonoma!

  • Bobbie and Pat ont été de très bons hôtes. Ils ont donné de bons conseils et nous ont fait sentir à l'aise. L'emplacement est parfait, à quelques minutes de marche du centre. La chambre est jolie.

  • My wife and I spent nine days and eight nights at "Walk to Historic Sonoma Plaza" -- it was a marvelous experience. Our hosts, Pat and Bobbie Collins were SO accommodating, hospitable, and friendly. We shared their house with them -- we had a bedroom and bathroom for ourselves, but had free use of the kitchen (including a shelf in their refrigerator), washer and dryer, and their living room as well as their gorgeous courtyard (which we used frequently) and other areas of their yard (including a Bocce Ball court and another patio in the back yard -- the courtyard was so nice, we didn't use these much). We were given a key to the front door so our access to the house was the same as theirs.

Our bedroom and bathroom were very nicely appointed and very smartly decorated. Our hosts graciously (and thoughtfully) provided bathrobes, bottles of mineral water, wine glasses, and a corkscrew.

Pat and Bobbie are a wealth of information regarding things to see, do, and eat in the Sonoma Valley. We never felt that we were imposing on them; in fact we almost felt like we were friends of the family invited for an extended stay in their house. By the time we had to leave, it was almost like leaving family.

Our stay with the Collins was a perfect balance of them letting us have our privacy, while showing interest in what we had done on a given day and what we thought of the places we had seen and the things we had done. We had very nice (sometimes extended) conversations with them in the afternoons or evenings. One afternoon, while I took a nap in our bedroom, my wife had a very pleasant and extended conversation with them in their courtyard where they provided wine, cheese and crackers.

Shortly after our arrival, they invited us to join them for the Tuesday Evening Farmers Market in Sonoma Plaza. This event is more like a weekly (summertime) big community picnic (picture lots of chairs, blankets, tables, food brought from home and, of course, wine) with, oh yeah, a Farmers Market (you know, fresh produce, crafts, prepared-to-order meals, etc.). We joined their picnic group, felt very welcome, and had a very pleasant time.

And, yes, the Collins' house IS a short pleasant walk from Sonoma Plaza. Their house is on a side street just a half block off Broadway (the main road heading south from Sonoma Plaza). Our room, although on the front of the house facing the street, was very quiet and pleasant. This is the only room they rent out, so we were (and you will be) the only guests in the house during the stay.

For our next visit to Sonoma, we have no reason whatsoever to consider any other accomodations.

  • Pat and Bobbie make you feel very welcome via their prompt response by e-mail, the friendly greeting at arrival, taking you to the farmers market, lending their bicycles and giving advice on the best places to go. The room and bathroom are nice (comfortable bed, bright, clean). There is a lot of space to sit out- and inside. The location is great, it is a few minutes walk to the Sonoma plaza. Parking was conveniently in front of the door.

We would love to stay there again.

  • Pat was a wonderful host! As soon as we got to their property, he greeted us very well and gave us a lot of good suggestions for things to do in and around. He also showed us the house which is very beautiful.
We would certainly recommend Pat and Bobbie's property listing and love to visit them again in future.

  • Very nice apartment in a beautiful and quiet area. Everything was clean and the room was very nice. Bobbie and Pat helped us a lot in finding the best spots and wineries in Sonoma and even gave us their bikes to use.

About
Pat and I love to bicycle, garden and read. And share our town of Sonoma with guests. Lots to do here in addition to wine tasting. We love Sonoma, there is a real sense of community here and a more relaxed pace of life. We've lived in Sonoma since 1999 and can direct you to some of the best places to eat, drink and play. We can also suggest bicycle and hiking routes that we enjoy.
