Magnificent and spacious apartment in the heart of Eixample Esquerra Barcelona. A bright and spacious apartment, reminiscent of the era wonderful apartments Modernist Barcelona. It has three spacious bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge. The dining area is kept lit by natural light from the interior facades so famous in Barcelona in the 50`s. Air conditioning and adjustable in each of the rooms, free wifi throughout the apartment high-speed hot air heating individual areas complete the description of this fantastic new apartment, which will make you feel like a citizen.
The apartment was great. It was clean and I can recomend it. We had a great time!
The apartment is great. Comfortable and clean, it is as you can see in the photos, in a very convenient and central location. You just need to make sure to clarify all charges with the host before you submit your reservation. I was asked to pay for a security deposit and a local tax upon arrival, which was not specified while booking or in the listing description.
Apartment was great and clean as in the photos. However, the ladies who gave us the keys at check in tried to charge us a late fee which was never discussed through email, even though I had advised them of my late check in in the weeks leading up to the trip. in the end, they didn't charge us the extra 35 late fee as I argued with them that it wasn't stated on airbnb, etc, it just made our check in less welcoming. Place is nice and clean. Just make sure they are clear on all fees and have print outs if required.
While the apartment was alright, the service was terrible.
When we arrived at the apartment, the person who was supposed to receive us was late and we were stranded outside for more than 15 minutes as we didn't have the keys to the apartment and couldn't even go up.
Thereafter, when we signed the contract and paid the deposit, we asked that person for places to eat around the area and she retorted "I don't know, I don't eat around here". That was extremely rude. When we asked her about the bus or walking tour, she similarly said "I don't travel, I don't know". Being in this line, the least you could do is to know some recommendations.
There was a light flickering in the kitchen, she said they would fix it tomorrow. No one came. I reminded them two days later, yet nothing was done.
I asked whether towels could be changed and the email I got was "NO towels". The caps were entirely unnecessary.
The apartment also lacks amenities and not much thought is placed into making the apartment comfortable. For instance, there is only one dustbin in the kitchen at the bottom of the sink. There are no other dustbins at places which normally require them, like the 2 bathrooms. For one of the bathrooms there was no shower curtain provided such that the floor and nearby basin would be wet.
This is my first time using airbnb and I'm not sure if I would use it again. I wanted to cancel the reservation on the first night, but the cancellation policy didn't allow me too.
On hindsight, I would rather pay more and stay in a hotel next time. I was in Barcelona last year, stayed in Hotel Jazz and had a much more pleasant experience.
To be fair, we stayed in a 5 star hotel in London just prior to arriving in Barcelona and perhaps we had higher expectations.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
