About this listing

This is our home away from home. It is perfect for quiet evenings at home or if you want to go out, the city of Tucson is at your finger tips.

The space

Our 2 bedroom 1947 bungalow is filled with charm and comfort. In the living room, there is a unique beehive fireplace to relax next to in the evening. Each bedroom has a queen bed and closet space. The fully equipped kitchen seats four but if you are having people for dinner, there is a separate area with a table for eight. We have a walled in patio which is shared with folks living in the casita in the back. You can barbecue in the yard or choose any one of the multitude of restaurants that are within a couple of miles of the house. A washer and dryer is also available. The one bathroom has a whirlpool tub that might be enjoyable after hiking in the desert all day.

We are centrally located and walking distance from Reid Park where you can jog, play tennis, golf, watch a baseball game, swim or go to the zoo. There is nearby public transportation but if you have a car, parking is no problem. The air force base is a little under 6 miles away. For the most part an occasional plane flies by but if you happen to stay when they are practicing for an air show, there will be quite a display overhead and it can be loud and exciting.

We don't allow animals, but there is a small dog living in the casita in the back, as well as a mysterious cat that loves the stroll through the yard and look in the windows.

Because this house was built in the 40s, it has loads of charm but also some idiosyncrasies. When you first walk in, there is a notebook on the table that explains the ins and outs of the house. In order to make your visit more pleasant, please read it at the beginning of your stay. You don't want to be stuck in the bathtub trying to get the shower going! :-))

Interaction with guests

Andy and I are always available by phone. The person who lives in the casita behind our house is your go-to person with any questions we can't answer by phone. I will share his number a few days before your arrival.

Annie's place was accurately described and very charming. We would recommend it as a base for anyone who knows the Tucson area. We especially loved the colorful decor and the backyard, although it is close to an airport. Though we never met Annie, she was very kind, helpful and thoughtful. Check-in was a breeze!

The authentic bungalow is an authentic gem in Tucson! The beehive fireplace was delightful. We enjoyed the patio and chiminea as well! Annie was a wonderful host, easy to reach. We will definitely hope to return for our next visit to Tucson!

We had the most wonderful stay at Annie's colorful, spacious, beautifully decorated home and very cute outdoor area. We particularly enjoyed the fireplace. Close to many good restaurants, downtown, and a bunch of hikes. Checking in was really easy and Annie always responded to any questions very quickly. Definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Everything was as expected and we felt comfortable and safe. Great location for the things we like to do, especially Reid park for walking and golf. The large dining table was great for visiting family. We would gladly stay again.

The Casita was neat and clean and sweetly decorated. Very comfortable chairs and couch in living area. Easy to get the keys and great instructions for hvac and general house tips.

We loved our stay at Annie's place in Tucson. The home is in a perfect location. Close to amenities, but very quiet. Loved the southwestern flair the home offers. Very comfortable and the host provides everything you need. Definitely a great pick.

The description is accurate, and the house is in a good, central location in Tucson. The caretaker is friendly and helpful, and has the cutest little dog that is very friendly and quiet. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to come back again.

Andy and I have been using Airbnb and love it so we decided to become hosts. It is much nicer to come back at the end of the day to a real home, not a hotel room. We have this great house in Tucson that we would love to share. At this point in our lives, business takes us out of town quite often but when we are there, it just feels right. We love to do the four mile walk around the park every morning before we start our day. Tucson is such a great city with so many things to do. Some times though we just sit in the yard and read. We are lucky to have a great person living in the casita in back with his friendly little dog.

When Andy and I are not working, we have lots of interests between us. Some of the things we are involved in include gardening, photography, technology, and pottery. Needless to say, we are never bored. Some of our favorite places to go in Tucson include Sabino Canyon, Degrazia Gallery in the Sun, and Larua's for great green corn tamales.
