The Space

This room is about 20 m2 with a loft. It has 2 double beds - one on the loft and one in the room. So in total there is space for 4 sleeping guests, an extra madras can be arranged upon request.

It is either rented out as one separate room or together with 2 other rooms in this large rooftop apartment. Please check "The Suite" + "Simple&Cheap" under my other listing for price and availability

THE ROOFTOP APARTMENT is located in NoAss, the area North of the Assistens Cementary, resting place of our grand author H.C. Andersen and a central spot on Nørrebro in Copenhagen.

THE AREA is the new center of coolness in Copenhagen offering urban farming in the park. Just outside the door you also find Michelin restaurants, world champion baristas, Mikkeler Beer Bar, authentic craftmakers in shoe and ceramics on the hip Jægersborgsgade which is a non profil shopping street. TAXA cafe on right on the corner serves delicious food all day long

The shared apartment is newly renovated with floor heating, high speed wifi, dishwasher, cleaning lady etc.

There are bikes for free disposal if you want to try to transport yourself around like other Copenhageners. It might be scary at first but it´s a fun experience and you will quickly learn.

WE ARE young creative professionals living here and happy to show you around or give you some very qualified insider tips of do´s and dont´s in the city.

Getting around

BIKING ~bikes are included, so you can get to anywhere in the city within 10-20 minutes. Copenhagen has biking first priorety and wide lanes for bikes only, so you'll be protected from cars and this is truly a luxury experience compared to cities like London & NY, where biking seems dang
WALKING is also a great way to get around. the city center is a beautiful 20 min walk through the cemetery of HC Andersen and crossing the old lakes defending the city in viking times.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION in Copenhagen is among the worlds best as the city has a always (email hidden) profile, making it very hard and expensive for you to drive a car. So Bus+Metro runs every 5-7 minutes and gets you everywhere.

  • Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the loft. I wish some information had been clearer from the listing, so I'll include some of that here in case it helps other folks considering staying here:

It seems Rasmus is not often in the apartment. We didn't meet him, or anyone else affiliated with the property, during our entire stay (six days). We had instructions on how to get keys. The individual rooms do not lock. I wish there were locks on the doors, as multiple rooms are rented through Airbnb, or that at least a small lockbox and key was provided in the room for valuables.

The room looked about as represented. The ladder to the loft is not the most steady, but we did okay with it. There are no curtains on the windows, which might be a problem for sensitive sleepers during the long summer mornings/days/nights.

There is a shared kitchen and washer. The cycle on the washer took two hours, which seemed weird. There are 1.5 bathrooms, and we never had an issue with waiting for a bathroom or shower. The bathrooms were clean enough, but not immaculate. I never really saw anyone coming in to clean.

The beds are super, super comfortable--maybe the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. There was also a hammock in our room, which was fun for hanging out and reading at night.

The neighborhood and location are great, and we really appreciated the bikes--we were on them every day. They are mostly beater fixies, but pretty easy for getting around town. A multi-tool for adjusting seats, etc. would be a nice touch. It's about a twenty minute walk into central Copenhagen, or a quick ten minute bike ride.

Overall, we had a great stay with only a few small quibbles (detailed above), but the minimal communication was a little weird, and I received a message from Rasmus asking us to change the sheets over for the next guests, which also seemed odd.

  • We didn't meet Rasmus, so he wasn't in Copenhagen during our stay in the city, but he wrote us by email to know if everything was okay. The room was so cozy, with confortable beds but the bathroom was a bit dirty, I guess it was because there were other rooms rented so we were a lot of people using the same shower, but never had to wait to take a bath, good coordination! The best about the apartment was the location, it was a cool neighborhood with so many beautiful bars and people, with a nice park just in front to the apartment and it was close to the city center.

  • Great price and nice location!

  • Thanks Rasmus! The room was nice and surroundings too. We had kids with us and they loved the loft, but in this area it would have been great to be without kids. So nice-looking restaurants. Thanks for the internet and bicycles too. Copenhagen is a great town for driving a bike.

  • Rasmus was very kind and helpful, his flat is beautiful, clean and you can meet a lot of friendly persons to chat, cook or hang out with!
    Thank you Rasmus and Leonardo

  • The host never contacted us during or after the stay just to check that everything was ok and/or if we needed anything.
also, as the apartment has 4 rooms, it ends up being about 8 to 10 people waiting for ONE SHOWER. you can imagine the mess it is. we ended up waiting for over an hour for the shower everyday.
Also, since there are so many people in such little space,it ends up being quite dirty in the common spaces. the bathroom was just disgusting.
lastly, no curtains in the largest bedroom. when you think that Copenhagen only has about 6 hours of night in the summer: good luck for sleeping!
