The Space

If you are going to stay in Siena and would also like to visit the marvelous surrounding places, this charming, little apartment is the best base point for you: in the heart of the city centre and,at the same time, few steps away from the bus station

***Please, read carefully the indications to get here that you'll receive after you have booked.***

A fully furnished apartment on the first floor in a big historic building in Via dei Montanini (pedestrian area in the historic centre of Siena).

The building is of historical interest and has been recently restored, like the apartment.

The apartment is situated right behind Piazza Gramsci (bus station for both urban and extraurban travels).
A very pleasant walk through the main shopping area of Siena (Via dei Montanini and Via Banchi di Sopra) will lead you to Piazza del Campo and the Duomo (Cathedral) in no more than 10 minutes.

The train station is easily reachable with buses from Piazza Gramsci or Piazza del Sale, or walking (15 mins). You will be able to see more detailed info on how to reach the apartment once you have booked.
There is a Taxi Station 200 m from the apt, Piazza Matteotti.
The apartment is 1 min walking from La Lizza and La Fortezza, two beautiful public gardens where you can have nice walks with a stunning view over Siena and the surrounding hills.

It is a loft type apartment with one bedroom, comfortable dining room, a bathroom and an equipped and functional kitchenette if you like to cook. It also has a small balcony with a washing machine.

We have just installed air conditioning. (July 2013).

Hairdryer, american coffee machine, iron and ironing board are provided.

There are 2 single beds in the bedroom (the loft area) (email hidden) large sofa bed in the living room for a third person. The single beds upstairs can be pushed together with bigger linens and blankets to make a double bed.

Smoking is forbidden, you can smoke outside (where there is the washing machine).

Via dei Montanini is a central pedestrian street (only residents are allowed to get in there by car) so there are many shops, bars, grocers and a supermarket nearby. The neighbourhood is very quiet and inhabitated mostly by families.

Minimum stay is 2 nights. You can stay 1 night for 100€ if you are two people, or 120€ if you are three people.

If you wish to stay for example 10 days, we will use the weekly price to make the total amount and I will send you a special offer. For 2 weeks stays (or longer), we will calculate the price with the monthly price (for example, 2 weeks will cost you 1800€:2=900€, instead of (phone number hidden)€).

Towels, sheets, WI-FI connection and the cleaning service are provided and included in the price.

The check in is from 2 to 9 pm and the check out is by 11 am, but if possibile we can arrange otherwise if you have specific needs (flight landing time, train etc)

Airbnb will block a security deposit of 150€ on your credit card or bank account, and will "unblock" it 48 hours after your check out if we do not find any damage in the apartment - we would obviously keep only the necessary amount to fix the damage, not the entire security deposit.

We kindly ask you to make your booking at least 3/4 days before your arrival, so that we are sure we can host you in the best way possible and provide you anything you need. Anyway we will to do our best also with a shorter notice!

The apartment is entirely reserved for the guests, I won't live there during your stay, but I'll always be easily reachable by phone, messages, e-mails, airbnb etc...

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Lysa's mother welcomed us to the apartment and there was plenty of local information and good recommendations for local shops, cafes and restaurants.
The apartment is comfortable, centrally located and quiet. We had an easy journey from Florence by bus, arriving at the bus station on Piazza Gramsci which is about 5 minutes walk from the apartment. The train station is not so convenient, but local buses and taxis are easy to find.
Three of us stayed there and although the bathroom and kitchen are small they are fully equipped. It was very good value and I would recommend the apartment.
We really enjoyed visiting Museo Civico and the view from the Torre del Mangia is well worth the climb. Complesso Museale, Santa Maria della Scala is an amazing and extensive museum. Do also go to the Natural History Museum, Accademia Dei Fisiocritici Onlus, which dates from1816 and is beautifully displayed with geological collections, birds, animals and plants and an extraordinary ceramic collection of accurate representations of fungi.

  • Lyza's apartment combines 'all mod. cons' with walking access to all the civilised delights of central Siena's nearly traffic free medieval city. These include lovingly conserved gothic architecture, exquisite collections of Sienese school paintings, food and wine to die for, a varied cultural life, smart shops, and elegantly charming citizens. With good transport links to the beautiful landscape of Tuscany and it's other cities, Siena lets the rest of the world into the secret that Italians really do not need to travel abroad for their holidays! Thank you for sharing it!

  • We had a wonderful stay, so I would not hesitate to unreservedly recommend this apartment to other airbnb travellers. It is a beautiful, well-kept, clean and immaculate apartment that has a lovely historic feel and is situated in the heart of Siena. We immediately felt at ease after the welcome from the lady who showed us around the flat, as well as appreciating a gift from Lyza of some local Siense biscuits - very yummy with a fresh coffee! It is generously stocked with a few little essentials, such as olive oil, towels and washing powder. All these special little touches made us both feel more relaxed and happy. This is very much to the credit of Lyza - the trust and hospitality was generous and made all the difference to our stay. The bed was comfy and coupled with the wooden shutters on the windows we had some of the best sleep in years! Lyza was incredibly helpful beforehand in emails. She promptly and quickly answered any queries we had about the stay. We greatly appreciated this as we had never travelled to Italy before. It is a beautiful place to stay and feels very in keeping with the stunning medieval town. It is very happily situated near the bus station and is not too far from the train station either. It was also incredibly close to the supermarket - which was great for us as we were keen to self cater for most of the days. There were lots of helpful guide books to read and plan local sightseeing. So for many reasons, it is a very convenient place to use as a base to travel further afield but it is also a great place to stay to experience the sights of beautiful Siena too.

  • This cosy and tasteful apartment offered everything we had hoped for. In a great position for seeing all Siena has to offer. Lyza's mother was very kind in getting me the medical assistance I needed.

    Grazie mille,

  • We had a great time at this perfect apartment, and felt like locals when we got to go behind the big doors that seemed so mysterious. We only had one bag each, and this apartment was an easy walk from the train station. There are also a ton of places nearby to explore. Lyza and her mom were continually gracious and we felt very welcome. Her mom let us leave our bags for our last day, and that was convenient. Thanks for a great opportunity, Rossi family.

  • Accueil charmant, l'hôte nous a aidé à trouver 1 parking gratuit à proximité. Appartement bien chauffée, propre, calme, agréable, non loin de tout ce qui est intéressant. Il manque juste de luminosité naturelle.

  • This is the best apartment to rent in Siena! Lyza was a great host and made our arrival and departure very easy. I would recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Siena.

  • You could not find a better location to stay in Siena. Central to the historic and artistic attractions of this wonderful city and very close to a main bus stop for side trips further afield. We were met by Lyza's mom who gave us an excellent orientation to the city and apartment and welcomed us with homemade baking. She even went out of her way and walked us to the grocery store. The immaculately clean apartment was just as pictured with lovely antique bits of furniture. We hope to return to Siena soon and Lyza's apartment would be our first choice for accommodation.

  • The apartment is super well located and Lyza's mom is an amazing host! She helped us with settling in Siena and preparing our car trip through Tuscany, and was very available for helping any time we needed.
The high point of this place is its location, you are in the city center, a short walk away from the main historic places to visit in Sienna, and a couple of minutes away from the bus station and a free(!) parking (ask Aida about it if you're comming by car).
It's a very convenient pit stop in Sienna!

  • Lyza's apartment in Siena is in the perfect location—just a quick stroll through the streets with great shopping to Piazza del Campo and 2 minutes from Piazza Gramsci, where you can easily grab a cab or hop on the bus. Lyza and her mother did everything possible to be sure we were comfortable, they even did some laundry for us since the washer was inoperable during our stay! We highly recommend this apartment. Thanks again for your hospitality!
