Adorable Creole Cottage in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans. Situated next to Bayou Saint John on Esplanade Ridge (high ground), two blocks from the Fairgrounds - great for Jazz Festival, two blocks to City Park - great for Voodoo Festival, one block from Bayou Boogallo, about a mile to French Quarter Festival, in other words it's really centrally located in a great area of town. There are two grocery stores you can walk one block to as well as bars and restaurants. A track is a brisk walk into City Park, the New Orleans Museum of Art is a 5 minutes walk, Interstate I10 is very close as is Uptown, Downtown, Old Metarie, Metarie. It goes on and on.....do you like to Kayak? Well you can 1/2 a block from this cute space. Walk into the living room with television, stereo and streaming internet to watch Netflix movies, the next room is the bedroom with an air conditioner as well as a furnace heater if you need it, temperapedic mattress, walk in closet, then the office room which leads into the kitchen and the bathroom. Outside the kitchen is a large back yard with a table and chairs for dinner with friends. *****Prices are higher when it's Mardi Gras or Superbowl, Jazz Fest, or Voodoo Fest - any big event the rate will be higher than slow season.
There is public transportation very close by, the street car goes from Canal up to Carrolton Ave and there is a bus line on Canal Street. Plus, rent a bike and speed around town, that's the best way.
I do have a cat, so if you are allergic to cats this is not the plays for you.

Elizabeth was a great host. We had everything we could possibly imagine in her sweet perfectly manicured cottage. The neighborhood is quaint with a great local coffee shop, market and cafe. The art museum, city park and lafayette cemetery no. 3 are just around the corner. It is located in the "mid-city" area which is good to know when getting around. I had a great time and would recommend to anyone.
Great stay at the cottage. A bit far from the French quarters 40min walk. Taxi always seemed to take much longer than what they would initially say. Renting bikes was our best move to really soak in the town.
The reservation was canceled 16 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
A gorgeous cottage in a quiet neighbourhood. Elizabeth made our stay comfortable, and she was very helpful and communicative too. The cottage was very pleasant to stay in, and with the centre of town being easy to get to by bus. There's also a nice café and yummy lunch bar nearby when you feel like staying local. We recommend.
