Walk to Smith College - Sunny Loft!

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Strong Ave, Northampton, MA 01060, United States

Bright open loft spaces in CENTER of town adjacent to Nagle Bike Path/Walkway. Steps to restos, bars, shopping! Two units available: a) one-bedroom loft upstairs; b) studio loft downstairs.

The Space

Beautiful loft in the center of America's #1 Small Liberal Arts Town (AKA Lesbianville, USA, so LGBT friendly:).

**Note: The $79 or $119 (weekends) is for the LOWER "studio" loft - same style as upper but with gas stove and 3-pc. bath w. shower - entry opens onto bike path/walkway.

I am currently living in the upper (described below) which is also available for $129 or $149 weekends/holidays), which has two QUEEN beds - so sleeps FOUR - single comfy mattress also available). If the upper is booked, I quickly put my life into a plastic bin and move downstairs during your stay: leaving a spotless, spartan space for you (I am a minimalist as you can see from the design and decoration).

Bright, spacious (800 sq. ft.), loft-style, 1+ bedroom apt. on the building's top floor with separate entrance of Strong Avenue.

Immaculate condition with plenty of parking, situated right on the Northampton Bike Path, this unit in the award winning Strong Block Condominiums (on Strong Avenue) is literally steps to the center of town, and a short 5-min. walk to Smith College.

Two queen-sized beds, the second sleeping area being a loft bed with a privacy curtain in the main room (the first is a separate bedroom with ensuite entrance to the bathroom).

HIghly recommended that you park in the City's covered garage, 2 short blocks away - rates are quite friendly - first hour is free:) Search "parking Northampton" for specifics and map - Airbnb does not allow us to post the link her in this description.

If you want to work more for your parking, there is plenty of metered 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. parking (free overnight) directly outside our condominium, including "longterm" 10-hr. meters.

Steps (200 steps:) to frequent PVTA buses - do a search for "PVTA" for up to date schedules. Several taxi companies in town (reasonable), and Smith College has a Zip Car location. Several taxi companies in town - including 24/7 service.

Freshly washed bedding (hypoallergenic pillow cases), towels, Swiffed floors, antibacterial wipe of all bathroom/kitchen surfaces between bookings. Forced air (allergy filter) heating, so you may find an occasional dust ball:)

Zero-fragrence for sensitive skin laundry powder available to wash your bedding - just email us the week prior to your visit:) Tide Sport the rest of the time.

The balancing side to being steps to bars and restaurants, is that this 10-unit Condo Development is still only "steps away" right up until local closing times of 1 a.m. (or in a few cases 2). Street side second floor windows should be latched to ensure an airtight seal, and blinds and curtains should be drawn to provide a sound barrier (complementary ear plugs provided for light sleepers:). The HVAC system is shared between the upper and lower unit - air vents can be closed (and magnetic covers can also be placed over them) to increase quiet.

Loft living features open spaces - in our case, the railing over the stairs is relatively open, and the loft bed in main area is accessed by a wooden ladder - and so to prevent any accidental mishaps with children, we recommend they be 11 and older (babies in cribs/strollers/held should be fine) in order to stay here.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • I was in the lower loft, which probably isn't as spectacular as the upper, but still very nice and flawlessly located right in the middle of town. Easy walking to everything. Very smooth in and out transaction, and Tim made sure I had everything I needed for my stay. Super professional setup.

  • The name the game is location. This is a perfectly located place. The bed was comfortable and noise was not an issue. The apartment is sunny and bright.

    April 2014
  • Tim was a wonderful and gracious host. The loft was better than the pictures. It came with great light, a comfortable bed, and sweet little kitchen. I will definitely stay there again.

    April 2014
  • tim's loft was superb. excellent location, fantastic light and very comfortable space. Tim was a terrific host: accommodating and very respectful of our privacy.

    March 2014
  • Tim's upstairs loft is gorgeous and impeccably clean. Everything is as described. Tim communicated with me quickly via text and was very flexible with check-in and check-out times.

    March 2014
  • My girlfriends and I found Tim's place super convenient for our weekend trip to Northampton. The Pearl Street Theater where we saw music was 60 seconds away! There was a little trouble finding overnight parking, but not too bad. We would love to visit again.

    March 2014
  • I rented the loft for my niece who said the room was nicely appointed and sparkling clean. The room rate is a bargain when compared to area hotels and it's in a terrific location to boot. Metered parking is the only slight draw-back. In my on-line dealings with Tim, I've found him to be pleasant, responsive and flexible. in the future, should I have a need to get a room in town, Tim's loft will be the first place I turn to.

    December 2012
  • Clean, comfortable and excellent location. Tim was a great host, respecting our privacy and very accommodating to our needs even staying up extremely late to make sure we arrived and got access to the unit. From coffee, hot chocolate and toiletries we were provided with everything we needed for a memorable stay in Massachusetts.

    November 2012
  • This was my second stay here, and it was just as good as the first. It's a nice place to stay and located close to the center of town.

    November 2012
  • This was the perfect place for us! Left 16 yr old at home while we walked to a huge choice of restaurants. Tim is a great host!
