Bright open loft space with two sleeping spaces in CENTER of town adjacent to Nagle Bike Path/Walkway. Steps to restos, bars, shopping, & city parking.
Beautiful loft in the center of America's #1 Small Liberal Arts Town (AKA Lesbianville, USA, so LGBT friendly:).
UPPER LOFT DESCRIPTION
Bright, spacious (850 sq. ft.), loft-style, 1+ bedroom apt. on the building's top floor with separate entrance of Strong Avenue.
(The lower loft space is currently leased and so unavailable).
Immaculate condition with plenty of parking, situated right on the Northampton Bike Path, this unit in the award winning Strong Block Condominiums (on Strong Avenue) is literally steps to the center of town, and a short 5-min. walk to Smith College.
Two queen-sized beds, the second sleeping area being a loft bed with a privacy curtain in the main room (the first is a separate bedroom with ensuite entrance to the bathroom).
HIghly recommended that you park in the City's covered garage, 2 short blocks away - rates are quite friendly - first hour is free:) Search "parking Northampton" for specifics and map - Airbnb does not allow us to post the link her in this description.
If you want to work more for your parking, there is plenty of metered 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. parking (free overnight) directly outside our condominium, including "longterm" 10-hr. meters.
Steps (200 steps:) to frequent PVTA buses - do a search for "PVTA" for up to date schedules. Several taxi companies in town (reasonable), and Smith College has a Zip Car location. Several taxi companies in town - including 24/7 service.
Freshly washed bedding (hypoallergenic pillow cases), towels, Swiffed floors, antibacterial wipe of all bathroom/kitchen surfaces between bookings. Forced air (allergy filter) heating, so you may find an occasional dust ball:)
Zero-fragrence for sensitive skin laundry powder available to wash your bedding - just email us the week prior to your visit:) Tide Sport the rest of the time.
AMBIENT NOISE - CITY LIFE
The balancing side to being steps to bars and restaurants, is that this 10-unit Condo Development is still only "steps away" right up until local closing times of 1 a.m. (or in a few cases 2). Street side second floor windows should be latched to ensure an airtight seal, and blinds and curtains should be drawn to provide a sound barrier (complementary ear plugs provided for light sleepers:). The HVAC system is shared between the upper and lower unit - air vents can be closed (and magnetic covers can also be placed over them) to increase quiet.
Loft living features open spaces - in our case, the railing over the stairs is relatively open, and the loft bed in main area is accessed by a wooden ladder - and so to prevent any accidental mishaps with children, we recommend they be 11 and older (babies in cribs/strollers/held should be fine) in order to stay here.
Smith College Professor live in the unit not being rented.

Interaction with Guests
Tim (owner) is available 24/5 via text for help or questions.
Right in the center of America's #1 Small Liberal Arts Town - AKA "Lesbianville, USA" :)
The PVTA bus stops are close, the Peter Pan bus station is two blocks, I-91 is a 3-minute drive - and now (Jan. 2015) the AMTRAK train stops 300 feet from our front door:) (and no sleep disturbance train noise:)
1. "Respectful" noise as the ventilation system is shared - relatively quiet by 11:00 pm (no loud music/TV).
2. You can reduce noise transmission to the downstairs unit by covering the A/C vents. Remember to open them up when the A/C starts - or turn off/down the thermostat.
2. We try and live "green" - so use recycling, turn off lights/appliances after use.
3. A quick text to Tim if you need anything.
4. During winter keep thermostat at 72F.
5. Wireless is "linksys" - ask for password.
6. Do NOT clean or wash dishes on departure - leave key on bar and use handle lock on departure.
Tim met us at the door and took us upstairs to the loft. Tim is available 24/7 to answer questions or help. We didn't need to get in touch this time, since we had already stayed here several times.
It is one of our favorite places to stay in Northampton. The loft is light filled and it looks down on Strong Avenue. It is only steps from the very center of the center of the city.
Tim's apartment is comfortable. It boasts a huge bathroom with a rain head shower and a large corner soaking tub. The bed in the bedroom provides a good night's sleep. The kitchen area is adequate. Although there is no real stove, there are a number of appliances to use for complicating cooking.
The only complication, and it is not at all TIm's fault, is the parking issue. We went through quite a few quarters in the late afternoons and early mornings. Sometimes finding spots near the apartment is difficult. BUT, it is free to park after 6 pm until 8 am and later in the evening it is possible to find spaces to park right in front of the building.
Tim's loft is very nice! It has good light, is clean, spacious, and very well organized. It is also very close to the train station and the shops and restaurants downtown. Tim is very communicative and agreed when we asked to check in later than originally planned.
The apartment was awesome, total dream loft. Couldn't ask for a better location, and we totally fell in love with Northampton. Our stay at Tim's place was absolutely great. The description accurately describes the space, it was perfectly accommodated for three people, everything was super clean, well decorated and organized. At check in Tim was friendly and answered all our questions about the apartment and the town. Northampton was a great weekend getaway. During the day there were endless shops and places to eat and we had a lot of options for nightlife as well including a live musical gong performance and drag queen show. The loft apartment is right downtown and walking distance (even with it snowing during our stay) from everything there is to do, eat and drink.
This apartment was beautiful, warm, and clean. We had an awesome visit here - it's super close to everything in Northampton and it was so pleasant to hang out in the space. Loved the bathtub/rain shower and natural light! Tim was great and super easy to deal with. Awesome stay, would absolutely recommend.
The apartment is very comfortable, clean, and perfectly located!! Tim was a great host and responded to our same-day request immediately.
What an awesome space! My partner and I stayed at Tim's Loft in downtown Northampton for a night and it was even better than described. Tim's loft is clean, cozy, and perfectly located. The loft has a very cool industrial feel to it. Tim was available from the moment we connected. There was a storm coming through during our stay and Tim was extremely helpful in giving us parking info and making sure to give us options if we weren't able to make our stay. I cannot say enough about how fabulous he was as a host. Overall great experience and looking forward to staying here again in the future!
Tim was extremely kind and helpful from the moment we got in touch. He answered the phone right when we called and even gave us some late restaurant ideas. Would definitely come back to his loft :)
