About this listing
This is a 2-story, 2-bedroom house in the East Village. It's a very unique space - a little cottage-like house in the middle of Manhattan surrounded by trees. Truly a rare find.
Located on East 3rd Street between Ave B and Ave C. The house is set back from the street so it's very private. There is a large front yard with a hammock, bonfire pit and outdoor seating. There are also several mature trees including two apple trees, an apricot tree, magnolia and cherry tree, all which bloom and produce fruit when they're in season.
Inside the house, is an open floor plan with 17 foot ceilings in the living room/kitchen area. There are three large skylights as well. The downstairs area contains the living room/kitchen (no microwave but all the other basics including dishware and cookware), bathroom (with huge soaking tub and shower)and one bedroom. The bedroom offers a full-size bed, 6-drawer dresser, desk, tv with DirectTv and a closet.
Upstairs is a second, larger bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The bedroom offers a full-sized bed, desk, tv and closet. The bathroom does not have a tub but it does have a shower. There is also a separate loft area/tv room upstairs, which can serve as an extra sleeping space for a 5th guest. Also, the couch in the living room fold down to a full-sized futon.
The house has DirecTV with DVR and wireless internet service.
There is also a gate house at the front of the property that can be rented with this house to accommodate larger parties. I have it posted separately on airbnb, entitled The Smallest House in the Village. It is a very tiny studio space with a full-sized loft bed and full-sized pullout couch. So technically, it sleeps 4 but, again, it's very small.
I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.
Guests have access to the entire house and the back part of the yard.
Interaction with Guests
I am not far if you need anything but you will have as much privacy as you want.
Other Things to Note
The internet has been unreliable lately. It seems to go out after it rains. If this happens, there is an internet router upstairs above the kitchen. Please go up there and unplug it for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Most of the time this solves the problem. If not, please let me know and I will call Verizon.
Please no smoking in the house. You may smoke outside. Please take out the trash, strip the beds and remove any food you brought before you depart.
