Many of our guests come here to attend a special project at the UC and are happy to be in a quiet environment. They like to borrow our bicycle to go to the UC or to explore the general area on the week ends.
This is the best neighborhood in Berkeley. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful. The "Gourmet Ghetto", the Cheese Board where the best pizzas are made daily with live music every day, Chez Panisse the well-known restaurant, all is within a short walking distance. A block away we have the Live Oak Park, where at certain times of the year are festivals and fairs, music and food.
Wifi, Electricity, cleaning all is included in the price.
Breakfast is served from (phone number hidden) in the mornings
It was summer and I was welcomed into a garden, it was quiet except for water gurgling in a fountain. I stayed upstairs, there were other guests. My bed was comfortable, my room was private and had a view across to the bay. The neighborhood is subdued, and near an art center. It is hilly. Patrice was more than welcoming, accommodating and really there. It was a perfect location for me.
First experience with airbnb and first experience with Berkeley.
This room is just as the description! I stayed in the room for a month as I studied on Berkeley Lab. The room is located close enough to the campus so that you can walk there. Otherwise there is good bus connections or you can use the bicycle which the host kindly provide! - I used the bicycle all the time when I was there. The area is really nice and safe, and gourmet ghetto with all its restaurants is near. The room was clean and nice and it was nice that you could stay in the beautiful garden behind the house and that you could use the kitchen in the house. The host is really friendly and helpfull. If I ever should go back to Berkeley I would definitely stay here again.
My Parents stayed with Patrice as I live up the road and this was their first visit to Cali, My Mum writes "we enjoyed staying at Patrice's home. The garden is full of color making a glass of wine on her terrace as the sun set one of many lovely memories of our time in Berkeley. The walk from there into town is easy and the room spacious, clean and comfortable. We met interesting people over her breakfast table and will stay again if we return."
I found communication and booking promt and efficient. Thank you Patrice!!!
This was my second stay with Patrice, and I enjoyed it even more than my first. She is a considerate host and made me a delicious breakfast every morning. We had lovely conversation, and she and her husband made me feel right at home.

About the Host, Patrice
Originally I am from Switzerland and have visited and lived in many different places in the world. Now I mostly share my time between Berkeley, California and Nayarit, Mexico.
I love to open my space to travelers, make them comfortable and show them what it is I find so special about the two places that I chose to live in.
I like the good things in life: an interesting conversation with friends, a good laugh and a glass of wine, or tequila to go with it. All kinds of Art, expressions of creativity, music, especially Latin & African rhythms, but also Opera.
But mostly I enjoy the quiet, natural surroundings, the gardens and the views both of my places offer. It brings me peace and happiness.
