2 room flat on 5th floor, in North Bucharest, fairly close to city-centre, 20 minutes by public transport to city-centre/railway/airport.
It is a quiet residential neighborhood, one of the 'posher' ones in Bucharest. The nearest supermarket and the nearest outdoor market are one bus stop away (7-10 minutes' walk). There's a small kiosk just around the corner which is open 24/7, where you can get the emergency stuff like drinks and cigarettes or snacks.
In the living room (which will be your room) I have a couch which extends wonderfully into a good sized bed. Clean sheets, pillows, blankets, duvets, towels, etc. available. You can even borrow a clean T-shirt or a comfy pajama until you do your laundry, if necessary.
You will have a roomy cupboard where you can keep all your belongings during your stay, if you hate living out of your suitcase :)
I have a cat called Saki. She spends 16 hours (minimum) per day sleeping, and generally sleeps on my bed during the night, so you will barely feel her presence.
My boyfriend, Dragos, moved in with us, so you get to meet him, too. We've been together 4 years, so we come as a bundle :)
Public transportation from my flat: metro station is 10 minutes' walk away; tram and bus to city centre and railway station are just outside building. If you let me know that you need one, I will have a travel card waiting for you at home when you arrive.
The flat is fully equipped with all sorts of appliances: washing machine, dishwasher, microwave oven, gas cooker, various kitchen appliances, iron and ironing board, sandwich maker, etc. There is a wireless internet network to which you will have the password. However, I don't own a TV.
I have a cleaning lady who comes every Thursday for a thorough cleaning, and I am myself on the border of OCD. I keep my flat clean and tidy. Everything has its rightful place. I will not charge you for cleaning as I'd clean my house weekly with or without guests in it, but if you arrive on a Tuesday, it might not be spotless, as it will on Thursday night :)
The style of the flat is classical. The bathroom is the only 'modern' room with bright colours, etc. The rest of the flat is decorated with antique furniture I inherited from my grandparents or bits and pieces I bought or made to order to fit in with the old furniture.
Parking outside building: all residents park on the street in front of the building. There's always a parking spot to be found in a range of maximum 50 meters from the entrance.
There is a gym nearby (7 minutes' walk) if you want to work out.
I'd say I have a very cozy and welcoming flat. I have been active on another hospitality website/community for over 4 years now, and I have hosted over 50 people during that time, for periods between 1 night and 3 weeks. I love to entertain guests, talk about life, the Universe and everything over a glass of wine (make it rum&coke!), and generally, to integrate guests into the atmosphere of my house, my family and my group of friends. If you want to be part of this, just drop me a line!
Andreea is the very open-hearted person, moreover she`s a perfect companion and cookey chef. I were extrimly surprised of the servise and all amenityes, that was provided. The homy atmosphere was the crutual thing, I was enjoyed of.
My super best recommendations for Andreea !
I stayed with Andrea and Dragos for 10 days. Upon acceptance of my request, I recieved an immediate response from Andrea and alot of information sent via email about things to do,eat, and see. Unfortanately I didn't do as much as I wanted to do probably because I was so busy getting to know my interesting hosts! I did However see and do a few things around Bucharest.(mainly eat!)...Octoberfest In Brasov was amazing and a cultural experience as well. There is a gym nearby if u so choose to work out. Overall my trip was a smooth and delightful...Even moreso with the friendly guidance/assistance from Andrea and Dragos. A very interesting couple that will take you in as part of the group and keep you laughing. I had the privalege to eat some homemade ice cream and drink some very special Romanian liquor also so if you are lucky like me, you might take part in all of this! Romania will not be forgotten and hope to return to continue the story...
Thank you Andreea for the nice stay and so careful hosting!
Andreea is a queen,we have only good things to say about her and her boyfriend, she's one of this persons who just knows how to make the people around them, feeling good with themself, thank you for all, will keep in touch.
I stayed with Andreea for two weeks while I looked for more permanent housing in Bucharest. She is very caring and wants you to feel like her home is yours. She shared great information about Bucharest, was truly helpful in informing me about the culture (especially the palinka) and I highly recommend her as a host!
Andreea was a very special host has a special apartment, and a special cat! She was open, intelligent and more so a great laugh.. We had a great time staying with her and her not so special boy friend (joking!)...it was fun :)
