About This Listing
Complety refurnished redesigned 1BR apartment with loftlike look in brooklynesque Amager. Quiet area close to both beach and city center, and 3 (really) minutes walk from metro.
Wifi, washing machine, cleaning and free Copenhagen advice (host works for local city guide) all included.
About the apartment:
The building (and the apartment) is from 1923 and i have kept and restored the original hard wood floors.
Other than that it's recently modernized the way I would have liked to live, had I not moved in with my girlfriend in another apartment: Spacious, simple, loftlike and very important: Properly insulated against noise and draft since i dislike both.
There is only one bed, but a comfortable sofa is also an option if you are not really that close :)
About the area:
As an old school blue collar area the island Amager is slightly less stylish compared to the general idea of cool Copenhagen.
Thus it has somewhat ironically been referred to as a "coming up area" throughout my time here, almost a decade. Things are definitely happening though: New metro, new beach and urbanite entrepeneurs have made it a much better place to be. Although it is still more rugged than cool. Some of us like it that way.
Finally, please don't book right away. Send me a note and I will get back to you within 24 hrs :)
Martin has been a great host and a very nice person to communicate with before and during the stay -note that I have stayed for 2 months and thus smooth communication has been very important-. The apartment is as described and very close to metro and bus stations. Martin was kind enough to buy additional things for the house and in general he has been very willing to help and quick in responding. It has been a great pleasure meeting him and staying at his place.
Great thanks to our host Martin!
Beginning with the first email contact he was very friendly and helpful. His understanding, help and diplomacy I have appreciated the most.
The person who stayed in Martin's home was my colleague. Martin trusted my description about him and then he took a lot of time and explained the city and the apartment. On top of this, on his arrival, he even picked him up with his car, because my friend got lost.
I was told by my colleague, that Martin's home was as advertised; definitely tasteful, clean and cozy. We recommend this place with open heart.
Thank you Martin for being fantastic!
Martin’s apartment is great! We had a wonderful time there. It has just the right size for two people, charming nordic interior design and all the amenities you need. The place is exactly as described — or even better: the Metro station is literally around the corner and the terrific ‘Meyer Bageri’ might be one of the best bakeries we’ve ever tried. The Metro line M2 took us 7 min to the city and 14 min to the airport. So the apartment is pretty well connected.
Martin himself was very obliging and friendly. He sent us a little guide with place recommendations via email in advance and let us into the flat ahead of time — even on morning of New Year’s Day.
Whenever we come back to Copenhagen we will most likely stay at Martin’s apartment again. Big recommendation!
I stayed at Martin's flat for a month when I moved to Copenhagen and the experience was very good. It's an ideal size, great location with close distance to metro and bus stops. The flat has pretty much everything you need; washing machine, dishwasher, pots and pan. There are shops, supermarket, bakery and coffee shops around the corner (very convenient!). Martin is friendly and very helpful, communication was great. All in all it was a great stay!
We had a fabulous stay in Copenhagen. This apartment is in a great location. Close to the supermarket, a really nice bakery cafe with great pastries and coffees and even evening pizza, and of course the futuristic metro line. Martin was very helpful with lots of advice before we arrived, and met us at the apartment to get us settled. If you're driving by car, there is a side alley in which you can unload, and the 2nd level stairs up isn't at all an ordeal, compared to some other apartments we've stayed at... There is free parking a 5 min walk away, which is a good thing in Copenhagen. I recommend Martin's apartment, and live like a local.
I stayed in Martin's apartment for 28 days. I feel very lucky with my choice as everything was great. It is within 5 minutes walk of a metro station, a shopping mall, and many other shops for daily needs. It is close to the center of town - for example, getting to Strøget takes about 10 minutes by bicycle or metro. Amagerbro is a quiet neighbourhood and is well connected. Everything in the apartment worked as it should, and I was extremely pleased that it had both a clothes washer and a dishwasher. Martin was an excellent host, waiting after 22:00 for me to arrive, giving me a quick tour of the apartment and the block's facilities, and being easily available for advice by email. Thanks again, Martin!
