The space
We would love for you to join us up in the mountains where you can fully relax while you enjoy the beautiful sounds of nature, incredible sunsets and the stars at night!

2022 at The Canopy will be a year of rebuilding, community, creativity and reconnecting with the people that mean most to us. A large portion of our property was affected by the Creek Fire back in September 2020 as you will see on your drive up, but our property is bouncing back with lots of green and all the big trees survived :)

You can follow the @thecanopysierras to stay up to date on what is happening and being built throughout the 2022 season.

We are constantly building and enhancing the property and trying to make your stay as comfortable and unique as possible. The Newly built-out Vanzanita is fully solar powered and offers a propane stove, BBQ stove, kitchen sink, amazing views, cozy bed, dimmable lights for both the outdoor kitchen and safari tent. The sink works on a foot pump to help conserve water as well and all gray water is used for watering our plants.

This is an off-grid glamping type of experience that requires a bit of preparation, but well worth it! . Here are a few Important things to know before booking.....

1.) SHARED SPACES - Although you will have your own private living space please note our fire pit, yoga deck, look out points, trails, hammock hangout, bathroom (flushing toilet), propane hot shower are shared with other guests renting out our Mountain School Bus and Chevy tiny Home. There is 20+ acres of space so it never feels crowded. We will give you all the space you need and if you need anything from us just come ask us.

2.) SHOWER - On Demand - Outdoor Shower is turned back on and pressurized and hot ready to go. Make sure to bring towels. :)

3.) BATHROOM - Toilet is a fully functioning flushing toilet with a sink. Toilet Paper is provided along with great views.

4.) COOLERS/FOOD STORAGE - There is no refrigerators. You will be responsible for keeping your food/drinks cold. We will provide the coolers but you will need to bring your own ice for your stay. You are in Nature and there is Wild & Wonderful Animals up there. Do Not Leave Food Outside and leave coolers in your vehicles!

5.) GETTING THERE - The Driveway (about 500 ft long) is a dirt road that is not paved and is dusty so your car will get dirty. While an SUV or 4x4 has no problem getting up there a sedan takes a little more time and you will need to drive slow. If you have a low clearance car, be careful and drive slow. We have a small hatchback and it makes it but we drive slow and careful.

6.) BEDDING - ) We do not have a washer to it’s hard to wash sheets, so we ask to bring their own. The bed is a full size bed. We do provide a Zero degree two person sleeping bag up there for the winter months and blankets in the spring/summer. If you are using the sleeping bag you really do not need to bring sheets, Just pillow cases for the provided pillows.
***If you are traveling from out of town/abroad m and need sheets please request ahead of time****

7.) DOGS/CATS - We love the furry friends and pets love it up here. They are more than welcome without an additional charge. We only ask that they do not sleep inside the sleeping bag and have their own blanket or spot to sleep. There is a perfect little couch for pets to sleep on inside the tent but just please make sure that couch is covered. If they do shed a lot we ask that you clean up after them.

We really encourage your feedback in the Guest Book we have on the land. There is a good chance that if you can dream it, we can build it. We find everyone who comes up sees something different and new that would benefit the space based on each persons unique set of skills and talents. Everything on the land was custom built by ourselves, family, friends and our wonderful guests. Thanks for being apart of the dream !

We are two brothers who grew up playing in the woods building tree-forts in a small town outside Philadelphia. As we spent more time living in cities after college, we knew we needed to create for ourselves and others a place in the mountains where people can stay, explore, play and embrace nature without distractions.

We started building the Canopy in May 2018 in Sierra National Forest. We lost a few structures including our first tiny home in September 2020 from the devastating Creek Fire. We began rebuilding shortly after and thanks to friends family and guests we we're fully recovered in July of 2021. We will be continuing to add new structures, amenities and upgrades to our spaces throughout the coming years.
