Sellwood/Moreland is one of the premier neighborhoods in Portland, and the home is in the heart of it. Voted the best family neighborhood by Portland Monthly Magazine, Sellwood/Moreland has it all. Portland is known for its public transportation. It has some of the best in the country. Two bus lines are within one block away. The 19 will take you directly downtown, and it only takes about 10 minutes. Cost is about $2.40. It's a great deal.
Pets are welcome! The fee is $5/day. Just consider the pet as one additional person and the fee will be automatically added.
This fully furnished home is one half of a duplex and is available for monthly rental at a discounted price. If you have any questions about it please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks!
I won't disturb you but if you need anything at all please don't hesitate to ask!
I love all the great restaurants, shops, stores, coffee shops, and even a movie theatre nearby. All within easy walking distance.
Public transit is very easy! The #19 bus goes right by the house and will take you directly into downtown Portland. Cost is about $2.40 round trip. Travel time is about 15 minutes.

The beds were comfy, the house is lovely and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. John was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.
Great place. Comfortable and quiet. Would definitely stay again. John was extremely accommodating and responsive. He even turned on a dime and got us an iron when we were pressed for time. Whole experience was top shelf.
This house was a great place to spend a few nights. It's really close to lots of shops, restaurants and even a grocery store. Very comfortable for my family with two little ones and the grandparents to stay all in one place.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay in Portland. John's home was very nice and clean. We loved the neighborhood with it's unique shops and restaurants. We would decently stay there again next time we are in Portland.
John's house was a warm and comfortable place to spend a cold and snowy weekend in Portland. We ended up eating in more than we thought (because many restaurants closed in the storm) and spent evenings curled up in the living room watching movies. Although this wasn't how we planned to spend the weekend, we were glad to have such a cozy place to hunker down. Much better than being stuck in a claustrophobic hotel room. We (like many others) never actually met John, but we sure appreciated the basket of extra blankets and towels he dropped off on the porch one morning.
We'd happily return (but maybe in the summer!!)
We didn't meet John, but the key was in a lock box and the suite was more then we expected. Everything was just perfect. The neighbourhood was most interesting with a great Mexican restaurant just around the corner.
So much better than staying in a hotel/motel.
Thanks John. We'll be back!
My family of 4, two adults and two children aged 5 & 7 stayed here for a month. The home is very comfortable and equipped with everything that a family could need. We enjoyed our stay here.
Sellwood is a lovely neighbourhood and this home is located very close to all everything. It's a child friendly area with places to eat and to take the kids as well as wonderful restaurants to have grown-up meals.
Some things to keep in mind - the home, when rented as a 3 bedroom does not have a washer/drier. The owner was wonderful at letting us use the washer/drier in the studio downstairs when it wasn't occupied. Also, because the home has hardwood floors I was a bit nervous the entire time that my children were disruptive to the other guests. Also, it's a wonderfully updated yet older home. If someone downstairs is having an animated or loud conversation and they leave the door to their laundry room open, you'll hear every word (and worry that they will do the same). Another minor inconvenience in the winter is that there is, IMHO, Portland's BEST Mexican restaurant around the corner and street parking can be difficult. It was only a hassle when it was rainy or we had a lot to carry from the car - but we could always find parking within a block.
The home has a very flexible floor plan with two bedrooms upstairs that are large. The bedroom downstairs is nice with a single bed and a great table to colour and draw on. Upstairs is very cozy and has plenty of closet space. We brought 9 suitcases with us and stored them away out of sight and had plenty of room for clothes and other storage. The bedrooms each have closets and dressers to unpack into as well, which is very nice.
The kitchen is lovely with everything that you need; John has even left a preferred buyer card for the closest supermarket! There is a breakfast table for two in the kitchen and then the dining room seats 4.
The owner goes above-and-beyond what is expected. He even put Christmas lights up for our family which my children loved.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this location for anyone.
This was the perfect place for my family to spend a couple of days in Portland. The neighborhood is a great place to take walks and there are several restaurants and coffee shops nearby. I particularly like Grand Central Bakery which is close by. Thank you for sharing your vacation rental with us. We'll be back.
Great house in a great location. Convenient to downtown, but everything you might want in the neighborhood. I didn't interact personally with John, but he was quick to respond to emails and gave us all the information we needed. Highly recommended.
Great place to stay. It is comfortable, simple and lovely. I have stayed in hotels, motels, vacation homes and I must say the bed in the master bedroom was so cozy and comfortable. The three night stay was the best sleep I've had away from home!
There were four of us staying and a minor drawback was one bathroom. But....we got our morning routine down and it all worked. Two things missing: a blender and an iron!
I hope to stay again in the future and I would certainly recommend it.
