Relax with coffee or tea in the morning inside or on the porch. Winding down on the porch with a night cap can be really sweet. This is an urban location that feels like an oasis. Whether you need a clean and comfy layover from the airport, a couple of days touring the town, or a furnished spot for several weeks while you consider relocating, I hope you will ...come be our guest!
Please, no smoking anywhere on the property, inside or out.
This is a home that recycles. Please do not put recyclable items in the garbage. :) There is a basket by the garbage for recyclable items.
Otherwise, have a great stay while you are here.
Front porch sittin' is all part of the culture in Atlanta...take some time to enjoy a bit of it.
Margie was a amazing host! Always ready with some great advice and useful suggestions. The room was nice and clean and so was the bathroom. Should we ever get the chance to visit Atlanta again we would love to stay at Margie's place.
Margie was an excellent host, and was able to accommodate me fairly last minute. The space she's created is clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. It was obvious Margie truly cared about the comfort and needs of her visitors. Everything I needed was provided. The house is also only a ten minute walk from a nice little downtown area with some solid bars and restaurants. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough to anyone traveling through ATL, especially anyone who needs access to the airport, only ten minutes away.
Margie was an awesome hostess! She had good recommendations for things to do. The house was neat and clean and she had coffee ready in the morning. I would definitely stay here again and would also recommend to a friend. Thanks for the hospitality Margie!
Margie & Joe were fantastic hosts. Joe picked us up from the Marta station which was a great help. They are well travelled and able to give us tips about our trip round USA. The told us about a great place that we never would have found without local knowledge. We only had 17 hours in Atlanta, and Margie & Joe made it a very worthwhile stop! We would absolutely recommend them.
Great stay, picked me up at the train station, very friendly, the room was very nice and clean. Highly recommended.
I really appreciated what Margie did for me. Her house is so spacious and nicely decorated. So worthwhile, so home coming, so happy!
I returned after an earlier stay at Margie's place. Felt like coming home. Most notable are the immaculate, clean sleeping & bath room.
But this place is just wunderful because of the cold beer in the evening with Margie & Joe and possible other guests, on the terrace, talking about traveling, politics in the US and in the Netherlands, Atlanta, ....
And getting a 5 min ride to the Marta Metro. Just great. Margie: hope you will pay me a visit when you come by in The Netherlands!!

About the Host, Margie
I have worked with organic farmers all around Atlanta and the Georgia area so I love supporting local eating. Currently I am a real estate agent focusing on helping owner occupants find a great deal in the foreclosure market here. I also host travelers like yourself in our home.
I am a native Atlantan but I have lived all over: New York City, Indiana, Greece, Nashville, and even Florida so chances are if you are traveling thru the US, I can introduce you to new friends if you like. Worked in the entertainment (film and music) industry, and the restaurant business before starting my veggie delivery service. I have always planned to one day run an urban bed and breakfast and I have been keeping great notes of what makes for great stays and not-so-great stays from my own travels. Help me out! Come see how my hostess skills are doing! I will always be up for a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine or cup of tea in the evening to help you plan your own itinerary, if you like. One thing I enjoy when I travel is a "little bit" of help from my host... and a lot of time on my own. We can visit if you are up for it ... or not. ;)
local bbq shack - Good!
our local watering hole. Good food for a pub but they still smoke inside (bleck!). In warm weather there is an outdoor balcony, and they serve food til 1am except Sun. fresh-made fries are great!
great raw restaurant. I am not even vegetarian much less a raw eater but I love the food here! The lasagna is amazing! The Irish Moss drink is incredible...bit pricey but all good! open 1pm to 9pm
great breakfast and lunch diner. Cash ONLY! the servings are BIG!
great local general hardware store - they sell anything from nuts and bolts to boiled peanuts.
this is a basic grocery store, not the fancy type with gourmet foods, but you can get most anything you need from beer or wine to sandwich bread, or veggies. They are open nightly til 10pm
solid place to drop the shirts to be laundered
Great little bar and restaurant in an old gas station just South of us and facing the railroad tracks.
a great meat and three. They are only open til 8pm but they are open for breakfast!
Good food, great little pub atmosphere and nonsmoking (yay). The folks are great that run this place but some items can be quite pricey for a community pub.
