The shared space is an open floor plan with dining table. Simple mid-century furnishings and local art are all around. If you do not like dogs, this is not the place for you. My dogs will make you feel guarded and loved while you are here. Blossom is a sweet 70 lb Akita / Shepherd mix. You will never sneak in without her or Brindle (our recent rescue) announcing your arrival so don't worry about it :)
Relax with coffee or tea in the morning inside or on the front porch The backyard is lovely with a mature Magnolia tree. Winding down on the porch or in the back with a night cap can be really sweet. This is an urban location that feels like an oasis. Whether you need a clean and comfy layover from the airport, a couple of days touring the town, or a furnished spot for several weeks while you consider relocating, I hope you will ...come be our guest!
Always be mindful of the dogs. We keep them separate from the guest area most of the time but occasionally Blossom will come to visit guests. It is difficult to get her back inside if she gets loose.
Please, no smoking anywhere on the property, inside or out. I am extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke.
This is a home that recycles. Please do not put recyclable items in the garbage. :) There is a basket by the garbage for recyclable items.
Otherwise, have a great stay while you are here.
Margie was wonderful. Her space was superclean. She thought of everything. Every recommendation she made was stellar. She went above and beyond the call of duty to accommodate me. As one who hosts, this was my first experience as a guest and I learned a lot to improve our experiences at sacred mountain.
I highly recommend staying here when you come to Atlanta. Especially if you have business at the airport.
stayed for 3 days between my long distance- flights. The location is convenient from the airport and it was so comfortable to stay at her place. It has such a cozy atomosphere. I liked its interiors and furnitures. She always gave me good tips on the nightbourhood and the city. I wish I could have stayed longer.
I had a good time in Atlanta, thanks to her hospitality.
We stayed here last minute because our flight was canceled and we were not disappointed. Margie was a wonderful, sweet and very kind host! She made us feel welcome and relaxed after our flight nightmare. If we are ever in Atlanta again we will most def. be staying with her if she will have us!
I was here for a really brief stay (around 6 hours) to crash before an early flight out if Atlanta. The bed was super comfortable, and the location is really ideal for getting to the airport. It took me less than 10 minutes to get there.
Staying with Margie was an absolute pleasure. The house is beautiful, the neighbourhood quiet, the bed amazingly comfortable. I loved waking up to coffee and granola bars in the morning, and the location was great for taking the train and seeing a less touristy side of the city.
Margie was the best host who went out of her way to show me the city and was instrumental in making my stay in Atlanta so much fun. More than just a comfortable place to stay, I feel like I made happy memories here too. If you're in any doubt about where to stay in Atlanta, stay here. You won't regret it.
Margie was an excellent host!! Firstly, she was so kind and offered to pick me up from the MARTA station the evening I arrived, which made it so easy to get to her place from the airport. She was also so helpful in helping me figure out how I would get around the next day and also helping locate an iron for me. The place itself is wonderful-- everything is so CLEAN! The living room furnishings are stylish, the room had just about everything you could need for a short stay, and the bathroom was conveniently located. Margie provides breakfast bars and coffee in the morning, as well, which was so helpful for me, as I was in a rush to leave very early in the morning when I had to check out and wouldn't have had time to get coffee anywhere else. I honestly can't imagine wanting to stay anywhere else while in Atlanta-- Thank you so much Margie!
Nicole, Thanks for the great note and thoughtfulness. As for your jumping in the bathroom to see your outfit, you provided me with a giggle, but there is a full length mirror just outside your room in the hall ;) Maybe I should list the locations of simple things like this...in case someone misses it. Come on back anytime!!
Just got back from a weekend at Margie's, and couldn't have asked for a better experience! There are four bedrooms with a shared common room for guests, which give it a real B&B vibe instead of a "stranger's guest room" vibe - which was perfect for me as a hesitant first time airbnb-er. The mid-century decor is so fun, and we awoke both mornings to a coffee pot poised for brewing. We were in and out a lot during the weekend, but the quick conversations with Margie were warm and interesting. If we lived in Georgia, I could see having coffee with her often just for fun. Possibly the softest bed I've ever slept in. The common area has a kitchen/dining area with fridge, toaster oven, microwave, etc. We truly had everything we needed. Thanks again!

I have worked with organic farmers all around Atlanta and the Georgia area so I love supporting local eating. Currently I am a real estate agent focusing on helping owner occupants find a great deal in the foreclosure market here. I also host travelers like yourself in our home.
I am a native Atlantan but I have lived all over: New York City, Indiana, Greece, Nashville, and even Florida so chances are if you are traveling thru the US, I can introduce you to new friends if you like. Worked in the entertainment (film and music) industry, and the restaurant business before starting my veggie delivery service. I have always planned to one day run an urban bed and breakfast and I have been keeping great notes of what makes for great stays and not-so-great stays from my own travels. Help me out! Come see how my hostess skills are doing! I will always be up for a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine or cup of tea in the evening to help you plan your own itinerary, if you like. One thing I enjoy when I travel is a "little bit" of help from my host... and a lot of time on my own. We can visit if you are up for it ... or not. ;)
