The shared space is an open floor plan with dining table. Simple mid-century furnishings and local art are all around. If you do not like dogs, this is not the place for you. My dogs will make you feel guarded and loved while you are here. Blossom is a sweet 70 lb Akita / Shepherd mix. You will never sneak in without her or Brindle (our recent rescue) announcing your arrival so don't worry about it :)

Relax with coffee or tea in the morning inside or on the front porch The backyard is lovely with a mature Magnolia tree. Winding down on the porch or in the back with a night cap can be really sweet. This is an urban location that feels like an oasis. Whether you need a clean and comfy layover from the airport, a couple of days touring the town, or a furnished spot for several weeks while you consider relocating, I hope you will ...come be our guest!

  • Margie is a great host! Very thoughtful and great communication. The house is set up great for guests and the coffee is excellent. Bed was comfortable, place was very clean and well appointed. I will stay here again. The neighborhood is safe and I went on a nice run each morning. Very convenient to commute from airport and downtown.

  • Our first experience at an AirBNB was with Margie. She has a lovely home and was very sweet and accommodating. She suggested local restaurants we could eat in and really made us feel welcome.

  • Margie is very friendly, and works hard to be a good host. The room itself is nice; you will share a bathroom with one other room, so remember not to lock them out! All and all, a nice place.

  • This was a great place and suited my needs perfectly. Margie made sure I could find the house and get access if she was not home. She is a very friendly host! The room was nice with a very comfortable new bed. I was only there for a short overnight and left early in the a.m. but would stay there again. It is very convenient to downtown and the airport.

  • This was the second time I have stayed with Margie. The house is clean and beautiful, and it has a kick ass back porch. Next time I hope to spend a little more time with Margie - she's a wonderful host, extremely kind and accommodating.

  • Ein wunderbares und ruhig gelegenes Haus mit dem typischen Charme eines Holzhauses in den USA! Alles was man für eine gute erholsame zeit braucht - und noch mehr :)
    Gerne wieder!!!

    Of course! Come back anytime!

  • The house and room were exactly as I expected, and perhaps even better because the bed was extraordinarily comfortable and the built-in, super closet (complete with shoe rack and shelves of felted recessions for holding jewelry, socks, keys, etc. ) was an unexpected plus. Also the room was perfectly quiet, the host was excellent and so was the coffee. I enjoyed the roommate aspect of the setup just fine though I can see where this might be a potential drawback if there happened to be clashing in schedules, for instance. I found it extremely easy to park at the nearby metro station and ride into downtown. I would say my overall experience was perfect.

    Response from Margie:

Anna, I so appreciate your comment since I too worry about consumption as a citizen of the world. Unfortunately I have been putting that repair off because I have been told it will require tearing out some of the vintage wall tiles and therefore creating either a bad asthetic with a patched tile area OR having to completely retile that wall to make the plumbing repair. Older homes sometimes are very hard to repair the simplest problems....Thanks for your stay and the feedback!!

  • Nice and comfy bed and bedroom with an adjacent wc and sink. The train station (MARTA) is at a walking distance from the house. However, I would not walk at night in this neighborhood, especially from the train station, because it does not seem safe to me. Moreover, missing sidewalks do not make the neighborhood attractive for walkers and people without a car. It is also difficult to walk uphill from the street level to the house. The neighborhood is in East Point, a small city in the Atlanta metro area.
Margie is a very nice hostess.

    Response from Margie:

Thank you for the comments on the bedroom but I will say that the area is comfortable walking at night since we do it regularly and the police department is just at the end of our street between the house and the train station. It is true that Atlanta in general is not a great pedestrian city but this neighborhood makes it as easy as possible. The walk from the train is past local businesses, the police dept and City Hall and then a few blocks of tree-lined streets and nice front porch architecture in older bungalows. My block is on a hill overlooking a large city park. We can find danger anywhere....but this is a walkable community.

  • The great reviews are 100% accurate! It's a lovely home with a FANTASTIC host, walking distance to local restaurants and a MARTA station that's 2 stops to ATL Internat'l airport. The house overlooks the park--tennis, family, picnic & runner's heaven--and has an enchanting back yard. This was my first time renting a room in a house. As a woman and POC traveling alone, I did my research and am thrilled that I chose Margie's place. She stopped by and we really hit it off. Also, I happened to have the whole house to myself and my three days there turned into a great, mini writing retreat. Margie generously offered to drive me to the MARTA and the timing was perfect. Otherwise, I would have gotten soaked in a sudden Spring downpour. These are just a taste of the many reasons that Margie's will be my go to place in Atlanta.

We will see which space is available when you return to see if we could accommodate the sweet furry children. It was so great meeting you as well!!

  • My sister and I stayed at Margie's for one night on the way back from a golf tournament. It is very close to the airport, but still quiet for a good night's sleep.

Margie's home is welcoming, clean, quiet, and comfortable. We'd absolutely stay again!

I have worked with organic farmers all around Atlanta and the Georgia area so I love supporting local eating. Currently I am a real estate agent focusing on helping owner occupants find a great deal in the foreclosure market here. I also host travelers like yourself in our home. I am a native Atlantan but I have lived all over: New York City, Indiana, Greece, Nashville, and even Florida so chances are if you are traveling thru the US, I can introduce you to new friends if you like. Worked in the entertainment (film and music) industry, and the restaurant business before starting my veggie delivery service. I have always planned to one day run an urban bed and breakfast and I am keeping great notes of what makes for great stays and not-so-great stays from my own travels. Help me out! Come see how my hostess skills are doing! I will always be up for a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine or cup of tea in the evening to help you plan your own itinerary, if you like. One thing I enjoy when I travel is a "little bit" of help from my host... and a lot of time on my own. We can visit if you are up for it ... or not. ;)
