About This Listing
3 newly refurnished and finely decorated rooms in the heart of the town of La Spezia, a few steps away from the railway station and the departure point of buses and ferries to the 5 Terre, Portovenere, Lerici, Tellaro, Portofino and the several amenities of the Poet's gulf. The closeness to the train station is an added value since it facilitates the arrival and departure to and from the structure at any time of the day and night, for example if you're returning from an excursion in the middle of the night or if you want to check out really early in the morning if your train leaves early, since it allows to go to the train station without needing a taxi or bus.
In the structure there are two couple rooms, the green and pink room, and a single room, aubergine colour.
The price in the couple rooms per person is 32 euros per night, for a total of 64 euros per night. The price for one person in the single room instead is 37 euros per night.
It is also possible to book the couple room even if you are alone, with a small extra fee on the price that you would pay for the single room (obviously I am not able to offer a double room at the same price as a single room).
On request it is possible to add a foldable bed for a third person in the pink bedroom.
Since the single room (aubergine color) has a very big and comfortable bed for a person alone (120cm wide) if the other couple bedrooms are all booked, it is possible to book the aubergine bedroom for two people, asking the host in advance.
All rooms have private bathroom, hairdrier, safe, tv, air conditioning, free wifi, mini fridge, key card, and obviously bed linen and towels.
Breakfast is not provided but there is plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as all sort of shops and the fruit and veg market.
Also, if you travel by car, it is possible to park it in either the streets around the structure or if you prefer, in an underground parking under the square of the station (100 meters away from the structure). The streets will require a payment only during the day from 8am to 8pm excluding Sundays when it is free, whilst the underground parking requires a payment both day and night, with a cheaper rate at night. If you wish to park for free there is a free parking area 900 meters away, where a free shuttle bus is available to take you to the town centre.
It is strictly forbidden to smoke inside
Alex is a great host. He doesn't live on the property but very close by. He has cleaners come to your room daily. The location is perfect. It's a lovely town and you can spend hours walking up and down the streets. It's proximity to Cinque Terre is perfect. The trains are somewhat easy to navigate, but ask Alex for help if necessary. His tips made my trip to La Spezia and surrounding cities unforgettable. Thank you
Awesome experience, this room was one if the best things that happened to me in the trip. Comfortable, clean an close to the station and downtown. At first i wasn't sure about the price, to high for a budget traveler like myself but, it worth every cent. 100% recommendable. The hosts are very kind and helpful there is nothing bad about this place.
Alex picked me up at the train station which is only a 10-min walk to the apartment. He does not live at this location.
The ground-floor apartment is partitioned into 3 hotel-room-like units, each with its own bathroom. There's no kitchen, shared spaces or living room.
My single room is the smallest of the 3 and it reminds me of the budget hotel room I once stayed in in Hong Kong except this one is even smaller, it's about the size of a 2-bedroom apartments kitchen.
The room is quite clean and looks to be freshly renovated.
A cabinet hangs over the head of the bed, this is something I'm not used to.
The TV panel is mounted at a rather odd position - instead of the wall facing the foot of the bed it is on the side of the bed and cannot tilt downward, so basically it is unwatchable.
Overall I like the hotel-rioom-like cleanliness and the location.
I just stayed in La Spezia for a day, but Alex was really helpful and gave me some tips about the city and Cinque Terre as well. The apartment is exactly like the photos, new, clean and very confortable. Im sure I would stay there again. Its 5 minutes walking from the central station, with some slopes, actually, but pretty close. Strongly recommended.
Andrea was a friendly host who was very helpful in explaining how to get around La Spezia and what are the good restaurants to go to. His apartment is newly renovated and very secure because of the key card system. The room we chose was a single room, so it was a bit too small for my partner and I. If you are a solo traveller the bed is more than big enough. The pillows are a bit too soft and flat. Also, the electricity cuts off when you leave the room so the fridge will also stop working. It also does not keep food inside very cold. Lastly, there's not much space for you to hang your clothes - It's a hassle to use the cabinet which is quite high up. Other than that, everything was great and we enjoyed our stay.
The bedroom is clean and warm, and the location is very good because it's near by the train station. And Andrea is a very good host, I followed his advice and really had a good time in La Spezia and Cinque Terre, the restaurant he recommended was great also! Cheap and delicious!
