You will walk directly to the best place as you are in the very center of Prague
The apartment is very sunny spacious with amazing view and you will find here everything you need for a pleasant stay. There is fully equipped kitchen (owen, dishes, cooker provided), sheets towels provided.
In the neighborhood, there are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, nice parks! Just 5 minutes walk and you will reach beautiful Strelecky island and Kampa park, great places, where you can enjoy morning jogging or cycling. Art loving people gonna love the location, there so many galleries and museum just couple minutes walk from the apartment!
My airbnb stay in Prague with my boyfriend and his mother was mostly okay. The greatest advantage was that the apartment was in a perfect location. We only had to walk out of the door and could reach many of the Prague districts by foot or tram easily. The biggest downside of the flat was that the plumbing made loud noises in the walls at night, and kept my boyfriend's mother awake. I spoke to Thomas about this after our trip, and he said he would look into it right away. The photos do make it seem larger than it is, and so we found it a bit expensive for how small it was. However, compared to a hotel price and for booking something only a week before we left, it was the best deal we could get. Thomas was also very kind and called me after our visit to check in and see how the visit went. As others have mentioned in reviews, there is a smell in the bathroom that has yet to be resolved, but we noticed this smell in many other Prague bathrooms (so perhaps it is just the smell of the city plumbing). If you are looking for a large apartment to spend lots of time in during your stay I would recommend somewhere else, but for our 3 day visit it worked out fine.
Location of the flat is great.
I was following the route on my mobile, and when I noticed that I am on the target, I remember , I was smiling.
Enterance of Apartment,
Stairs , even the elevator... it has a soul , you can feel the czechoslovakian mood around.
Flat is as described and shown , only a little darker maybe, but I cannot say that it is a dark place. It is having a good light inside, it is an attic flat in the end.
There are not much things around, which is nice.
Neat Flat !
Discover the rest by yourself, it is worthed.
I will be checking for Thomas' flat for my next time in Prague.
Really enjoyed our stay in Thomas' flat. Great apartment in a great location.. Loved the view from the window. It was clean and had all the necessary items. The communication with Thomas was also great. We really loved this city.
The good stuff first: The location and the view are both wonderful. We also enjoyed the old art nouveau decor throughout the apartment building (carvings and stained glass windows!) It's a top floor apartment, so the sunlight was beautiful. Thomas' friend met us on time and was friendly. We also liked the restaurant downstairs-- it's a true Czech hangout spot on the weekends! It takes about 10 minutes to walk to Charles Bridge. However, the apartment itself is just not as nice as it seems from the listing. Every aspect of it is dingier than the photos would have you think. The towels are really smokey smelling, and the beds are basically hard couches. Something that bothers me is that after reading other reviews, I specifically asked Thomas about the bathroom smell and the elevator before we arrived. He said the bathroom was fixed, and that "there is an elevator." Well, the bathroom may have worked, but it definitely still smelled. And the elevator begins after walking up a flight of stairs, and it doesn't go all the way up to the top floor, so you basically have to walk up 2 flights of stairs. We managed, but I feel this should be basic information for guests to know. And, just be warned-- it's unreal how unsafe the elevator itself is! If you're ready for an adventure, I'm sure you'll enjoy this place! But if you need class and convenience, this may not be for you.
Thomas was great at communicating with us and his local contact who met us was very gracious and was willing to meet us quite late in the evening so that we could check-in.
The location of the apartment was fantastic - walking distance to the downtown and Charles Bridge, right near a number of tram stops, and near some great places to eat. (The restaurant directly downstairs was superb.)
The apartment itself is the equivalent of a 2/3-star hotel (hence the rating). It was clean enough and had all the necessary items. However the bathroom was having a major smell issue during the time that we were there. We contacted Thomas and he said he would have someone out to look at it, so hopefully this is no longer an issue. With the bathroom problem fixed it would probably rate 3 stars.
One thing to note is that the bedroom is separated by a curtain across the door and not an actual door. This is not a major issue and our son was able to go to sleep in the other room while we sat in the kitchen/living room, but it is worth noting.
All in all: Disappointing.
The guy who should meet us there to let us in sent his mother - seems he was sick. Ok such things happen. But though we told him a few hours before, when we would be there, she was half an hour late.
We tried to call this guy again, but he did not answer. Standing on the sidewalk, lots of cars and trams passing by with all ozr luggage this was not amusing.
The apartement itself is smaller than we expected by the fotos - seems a really good fotographer took the pictures.
The tiny bathroom smelled bad from toilet or drain. So either you must keep it closed and the room stinking or you open the door to air the room and you have the smell spreading all over the flat... At least the ventilation was working and letting it run all over the day took the worst smell.
The shower was not clean, black edges and joints ....
The fridge did not work, nor did the coffee maker.
The great view is disabled by the fixed fly screens.
And though we asked Thomas in advance for a late check-out (as late as possible) one of the first things the lady told us was, that we have to check out at ten - at the latest!
However again we waited 20 minutes ... Finally we were really irritated.
It seems most things are not the owners fault himself - but maybe he should care for other people to care for his flat.
Alltogether the flat is ok, but way too expensive for the benefits.
There are lots of cheaper flats or hotels on similar locations in Prague.
Really enjoyed our stay in Thomas' flat. Great apartment in a great location in a very beautiful city. Loved the view on the river side. Perfect spot to explore from. Thanks again.
