The Space

Hello everyone! Come stay with us at our sweet little guest house in Ubud. Great for couples, families, and solo travellers, the guest house has room for four. Outdoor kitchen with fridge toaster, oven and sink ,and is nestled at the end of a quiet street in the friendly neighbourhood of Nyuh Kuning. The property is a five-minute walk to Ubud's famous monkey forest, and from there, a ten-minute walk into central Ubud.

The guest house is set on a private part of our property, next to our organic vegetable garden, and has it's own entrance (we share the main gate). It has an outside sitting area, a private bathroom with an outdoor shower, a fridge, a sink, and wifi. You are also welcome to use our huge salt water pool (which is empty all day while our kids are at school). There is also a badminton court, and lots of room to roam.

During your stay with us, we're happy to suggest things to do, places to see, and interesting people to meet. Some of our favourite things in Ubud are yoga classes, mountain biking, and visits to some of Bali's incredible temples. We can also connect you a local driver, or help rent a scooter. We'll even hook you up with a baby-sitter if you want a night off from your kids!

The room has a queen size bed and teak bunk beds, both which have mosquito nets. The room has AC. There is car parking if needed.

We're an active Canadian family of 5 - three boys, the oldest age 15, and twins age 10. Four years ago we relocated to Bali, and have been enjoying the change of pace and fresh air ever since. We love Bali, and love meeting new people, so thought we would put our guest house up for rent. Come stay with us!

  • We had a fantastic time staying here. The guest house is in a great location and perfect for a stay in Ubud. A massive thank you to Yoni who organised our stay and booked drivers, rafting and tours for us, everything worked out perfectly and the driver we had was great. Thank you all very much we would certainly recommend you.

  • Peter and Janet's guesthouse is fantastic! This was a perfect fit for us (2 adults & 2 boys). The pool was great way to cool off every afternoon. We loved the outdoor kitchen- much better than a hotel when traveling with kids. Yet the best part was how welcoming, friendly, and helpful Peter, Janet and their kids were. They really made our time in Ubud wonderful. We will recommend this place to anyone we know traveling to Ubud.

  • We really enjoyed a few days relaxing at this wonderful house in Ubud. It's clean, comfortable and a short walk to the main areas through the Monkey Forest. There are good restaurants and spas within a few minutes walk of the villa too.

Peter, Janet and the staff are tremendous hosts and really made sure we knew what to see and where to go and how to get there, they were quick to help organize anything we needed.

  • Our stay at Janet and Peter's guesthouse was great! The property is very clean, has everything you need. The outdoor bathroom concept was my favorite. Peter was extremely helpful. He made sure we were always taken care of and even helped us make an itinerary for things to see/do during our short stay. He also recommended a few restaurants (one in particular: Sari Organic) which we tried and were very impressed. The location is perfect. It is a 5 min walk to the monkey forest, which leads you directly into the main area of Ubud where you can find tons of restaurants and shops. I highly recommend staying here. When I come back to Bali I will definitely stay here again.

  • Just back from Ubud few days ago. Already miss Janet and Peter's villa and hope will go back to spend another wonderful vacation soon. Their location just quite convient by walking or riding motobike, you could easy find nice place to eat just nearby that area. Yoni is very helpful and provide useful information you need. I definitely will recommend friends to stay in the villa.

  • We had a great experience with the hospitality of peter and janet. Altought we could not stay at there place due last minute changes we had a great stay nearby at Chili Villa, but with the same service as we would have at there place.
We also enjoyed and explored Ubud alot. Just rent a motobike and drive carefully since traffic is super busy some times! There are many nice restaurants for lunch (sari organic in the ricefields is a must!) and dinner (bali buddha) and some realy nice places to have coffie (senimen). Ubud is growing fast and getting busy but ist still worth a visit!
We would recommend this place to friends and family for sure!!

  • My son Leander and I travelled for the first time to Bali and were very happy to have found such a paradise like place! It was perfect to stay in this very hidden but at the same time very central little cottage in this marvellous garden of Janet and Peter very close to Monkey Forest. The salt water pool is huge and fantastic to swim in! The right place to start with and get adjusted to the climate after a long flight. We had lots of privacy and still were able to ask Peter and his family for their advice and help. It`s easy to walk into the center of Ubud from here. And the close Café Copper is such a great place to have a nice drink and delicious food! Thank you Janet and Peter. We love to come again!

  • I can wholeheartedly recommend Janet's and Peter's place. It's gorgeous and has everything a family needs. I stayed there with my partner and our 5 months old son and would definitely come back in the future. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. We felt very welcomed and safe. Thumbs up!

  • Great location. Very central. Me and my kids loved walking to and from Ubud through Monkey Forest. The guesthouse is only 100m from the back gate of Monkey Forest. And we loved the huge saltwater pool. So great in the heat and you can swim laps. Many of the other places I looked the pools were very small. Peter and the staff looked after us very well. Especially booking transport. Thank you Yoni! The air con was very patchy so the bunk beds next to it were freezing while the rest of the room didn't seem to get any but it also had a ceiling fan so it was ok. Good bathroom and attached kitchenette. No stove but we asked the villa manager and she let us use the stove in the staff kitchen. For this price range I think it is a great place to stay and will stay there again next time I'm passing through. Peter also has other rooms for rent next door so check those out too. Claire

  • Staying at Peter and Janet was a wonderful experience. It's close to Ubud town, but far enough away to feel like your in a secluded jungle. The town is very clean and many places to eat. We also had a private driver while we were there and he was wonderful too! The property manager and our driver were well organized and reccomend great places to visit and see. Peter is very friendly and answered any questions we had. I would highly reccomend staying here. I hope to return again one day!

About
We're a family of 5 from Canada living in Indonesia. This is our fourth year abroad and we don't know if we will ever leave! In 2011, we bought and renovated our dream house, in Nyuh Kuning, a neighourhood just south of the Monkey Forest in Ubud, where we now live. Our three children (a teenager and twin tweens) attend the famous 'Green School' here in Bali, about 25 minutes away. Janet runs a magazine called Inspired Bali, as well as teaching various yoga retreats throughout the year. Peter is a former journalist turned entrepreneur, and is the cofounder of a coworking space in Ubud called Hubud. Come stay with us!
