Discovery Green park is just a short walk away. It's a beautiful park that just opened a few years ago. There are always events going on so check their site for more info.
If you want to grab a bite or get a drink or two, head over to GreenStreet just a few blocks away. There you will find a tapas, Mexican, steak, seafood & steak, Italian, salad and American restaurant. You'll also find several bars and shops there.
One of my favorite stores is the Phoenicia Specialty Foods, they carry more than 15,000 products from more than 50 countries. Fresh-baked artisan breads, European pastries, boutique wines and beers, quality meats and cheeses, fresh seafood and meat, hot grille items, catering, prepared foods, exotic produce and housewares are all available there, near Discovery Green Park - 10 minutes on foot.
If you're into independent movies, check out the Sundance Cinema located in the theater district - an impressive cultural and entertainment center. The district features nine renowned performing arts organizations.
With your rental, you get one parking space inside the parking garage.
There's a free bus that will take you around Downtown Monday - Friday 6:30 - 6:30.

Kate was a great host! Loved the balcony and the big bed! Location was also great. Apartment was spacious and had everything you needed, especially extra linens and towels. Had some trouble with the parking. Super tight if you drive an SUV or truck, but Kate offered another spot to accommodate. The apartment was clean and cozy. Thanks again!
thanks it was great stay !!
i hope to stay next time as well

Kate is a pro at Airbnb! Everything was beyond expectations. A wonderful manual was provided and Kate was very attentive to any of our needs. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. Loved the gym and balcony!!
The host was not there to welcome us. We had to walk into the lobby to get out keys. Tried to call the number given to us to talk to host and it the number was set up to " not accept calls at this time." Wasn't happy to see that the lock on the front door had pry marks all around it looking like someone tried to break in. The floor in the bedroom looked like a lot of the shifted leaving gaps between floor boards. Glass windows were broke and taped together. In the bedroom above the door there were looked like paper towels or card board taped over holes. Bugs crawling in bathroom. If you don't like getting sleep then you'll love the next door neighbors that love to blast their music at 1230 am and talk loudly. We did not get much sleep. Two of the threes nights we were there they did this. Location was good centrally located to everything. Other than that did not like the place. I'm sorry but we will not be staying at this location again.
As mentioned in the booking detail, you pick up keys in the lobby so that shouldn't have been a surprise. Peter was given the number to my assistant, which he failed to use. He called me when I was sleeping already, wish he would have followed instructions, as I mentioned to contact my assistant if he needed anything. The door lock had some issues, the apartment maintenance man tried to pull out the lock which left marks. I didn't know it was an issue - had he mentioned it, I would have told him he was done by the apartment not by any break-ins. Regarding the paper towels above the door, sorry but it's something that the housekeepers overlooked. Unless you actually stayed in the apartment it is hard to notice. Seems one of my guests hung an over-the-door pull up equipment and put some dents in the wall which they tried to cover up. About the noise - all that was needed was a simple call to my assistant or to even let me know. We both would have contacted security and the noise would have stopped right away. Overall, poor communications with this guest. His experience would have been a lot better if he had mentioned this during his stay instead of after he left.
Two of us stayed in this very nice apt. for 3 nights.
Apt. was very clean, bright and spacious. Kitchen very well equipped. Located in very nice building.
Easy check-in/check-out with concierge desk.
Located downtown with very easy access to restaurants, transit, shopping, grocery etc.
Would certainly recommend this property.
Very nice place to stay while in Houston. Essentially, like a short-stay executive apartment. Very clean, modern furnishings, very fast wifi. Reasonably close to convention center (10 min walk) where I was at a conference. The best part, which was sort of a hidden gem, is that there is this really good cafe downstairs that is dirt-cheap and offers cooked-to-order meals. Very good food when I needed some and totally unexpected! I would definitely stay again if I'm in Houston.
As a host, Kate was very responsive, and everything was exactly per her very detailed arrival email, so no worries there.
Kate was extremely responsive to the questions I had, before and during my stay. She made it very easy! The apartment was as described, and the neighborhood, which is well known to me as a frequent visitor to downtown Houston, was as expected. Everything was just fine.

One summer years ago I discovered airbnb while traveling across Europe. I had really nice experiences with my hosts so I decided I would try out hosting when I got back home. I listed my condo and immediately had bookings, in fact I had so many bookings that I decided to turn it into a business. What a lucky break for me. Airbnb has been amazing and I've been able to travel the world, as my business has given me a lot of flexibility and free time.
I owe everything to one book that has changed my life completely, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Let me know if you're a fan. I love positive people and especially love to hear about positive experiences.
Before traveling, I do extensive research on where to stay. I prefer modern style private homes over hotels and would only book a hotel if I had no other option. One of my favorite places of all time is the Desert Nomad House in Tucson. I got to stay there before it was sold. What an experience! It is a Rick Roy designed home in the desert of Arizona, but more like a piece of art constructed of three boxes. One box was the living room, one was the study and the other was the bedroom and bathroom. I'd give anything to go back!
I love photography, food, wine, and meeting new people. The perks of being an airbnb host is that you're constantly meeting new people, people you wouldn't have otherwise met from all over the world.
When I'm not traveling, I split my time between Houston and London so that I can be with my family & friends and my husband. Most of the time I am traveling overseas but don't worry. I have an international plan on my mobile and I have staff to take care of you when I am not around.
