Donna welcomed me upon arrival, and showed me to my little room as its not part of the main house. Rustic is an understate-
ment. The door isn't opened and closed, its wedged and unwedged. The room contains a two-burner stove and cube refrigerator, but no area to prepare food or clean-up as the only sink is the small one in the bathroom. When I discovered no soap in the room, I went to Donna's and felt like a peon at the big house. The shower is small, so be careful about bumping your head.
As the room is quite small, I found the noise from the refrigerator keeping me awake, so I turned it off.
The property is up a rather severe hill which should be kept in mind.
As it rained every day, there's an area walking to the room that collects water to form a sizeable puddle. If Donna doesn't sweep the water, your feet and shoes get wet. This area is right under an overhang of vegetation that you must push away with your hand which is a real pain when you're carrying something.
Also a pain is the toilet handle which must be pulled forward first, then flushed. Donna pointed this out, but I'm left wondering why she isn't fixing a known problem.
I was there for 4 nights and found Donna inaccessible, and uninterested in how my stay was going.
This room is not an apartment, however, has grill and a mini-refrigerator: obviously is not a kitchen. However I showed you a place where to washing dishes and clothes (by hand). I hate having bars on windows or doors, the feeling of living in a cage it's not for me. So, have a division with hanging plants it’s the natural and human way of feeling integrated. If the weather is cold or hot, you will feel cold or have sweat, but if the weather is rainy, you will get wet, it’s totally normal !!! what is the problem? So, on the way home, you don’t got wet, but, when you get home, you got wet - HA! Thanks for explaining the detail of the toilet handle. Sorry, my house has no reception desk, it’s not a hostel; Privacy is important, so, when guests need more information or ask for something extra, they just send a cell message or leave a note (on a paper) and left at my door. The pictures not lie; Why to expect the opposite? … If you like to dress as a peon, maybe you will feel like one, sorry but you mood it's not something that I can solve, low self-esteem are personal issues.
Donna is well prepared for tourists. After arriving at the room she gave me a map and explained how to enjoy there.
The location is pretty nice! I was able to enjoy walking to the centro every day.
Overall I'm satisfied with my stay in Guanajato. Gracias Donna!
Donna was right there when I arrived in a taxi, gave me maps of town, and shoes to wear because it was so rainy and my feet were already soaking wet! It was cold and she gave me an extra blanket, too!
Donna es una excelente anfitriona. Siempre preocupada de que conociera bien la ciudad y que estuviera informado de los atractivos turísticos. La habitación estaba impecable cuando llegue y tenia todas las comodidades necesarias. Excelente lugar!
Donna is a easy going and elegant lady. She provided me a lot of travel information before I went to Guanajuato, which were absolutely useful. When I arrived her house, she gave me a map of Guanajuato and explained how to get to landmarks in detail. Donna's house is very large and beautiful!

About the Host, Donna
I have been living in Guanajuato Capital for many years, and can't seem to leave. After a week in Guanajuato, I knew I belonged here ¡Love Guanajuato! I stared as a host since 2004 through Internet and with wall ads since 1996. I like to travel and meeting new people. I’m often in house, usually working in my garden, tax accounting or decorating any area of the house. When I'm not in my gardening work I keep to myself, read, yoga, listening music, relax and take life in, so you will have lot of space and privacy.
Ex Hacienda La Escalera has been our home for many years, and I love living here with my small but great family; We live surrounded by more family and them houses, all together formed our own private gated community. We are very laid back, and love the community aspect of our lives and rental business; love our neighborhood and happy to share it.
I live in an amazing city! It's a special feeling that people rarely experience, and I know through the friends I've made here that a lot of them instantly felt the same about this place. It's well worth a visit!
There is always something fun to do in Guanajuato whether it's going to a museum, a galleries event, or just taking a walk by the city. And it's always more enjoyable when you share it with someone you love! The people here are young student, especially in the school season. Guanajuato is flooded with activities, from free concerts to outdoor, Mimes, multitude of other interesting places off the beaten path that you can't find anywhere else in the world. The energy here is so free and relaxed; you'll forget which city you are in.
I have amazing hosting reviews on airbnb, thanks guys! So feel free to ask any questions you may have. All my experiences with Airbnb have been fantastic thus far and I appreciate any all feedback from my guests so
