We had a great time at the studio. Everything was clean and functional and the studio was cozy and comfortable. Gene was accommodating and friendly. The neighborhood was quiet and a lovely place to take walks. Highly recommend!
Very cozy, functional place to stay. Kitchen was well stocked with things we would need for cooking, internet was fast, bed was comfortable, everything was conducive to a relaxing stay. Pretty cool books to read on the shelves too. The neighborhood was quiet and getting to restaurants/grocery stores was not at all difficult. I liked opening the windows and hearing the birds right outside.
The Yellow Door studio in Diamond Park Oakland was perfect for our Mother/Daughter trip. Gene and his wife were kind and generous hosts. We rented a car and the 25 minute drive to the airport was very convenient. The immaculate apartment was a short drive to Berkeley where we spent the day visiting the law school and indulging in gastronomic delights. We also trekked to Yosemite National Park for a day trip. We made a few meals in the apartment which was well equipped with all the basics that we needed. Safeway, Peets Coffee and a well stocked organic market were all close by. Diamond Park was a short walk away and we ventured to Joaquin Park for a wonderful hiking adventure as a tune up to Yosemite. Looking forward to returning to the Yellow Door.
Our stay at the studio with the yellow door was absolutely wonderful. The unit is just as pictured, along with tons of windows and natural light. Me and my girlfriend were visiting the area for job interviews, so it was nice to have a quiet, relaxing place to come back to. Our host Gene was very accommodating, he let us have our space but was available if needed. The yellow door studio is highly recommended!
I love staying at the Yellow Door. Gene and Joann are such gracious hosts. The studio is warm and welcoming and there are flowers to welcome you plus pastry and coffee for breakfast.
It is close to where my family lives in the Dimond district.
Our hosts were very nice as was the room. The location was perfect for our needs. We will definitely return.
I loved this little studio in Oakland so much! It is in a dreamy little neighborhood in Oakland that I wish I could afford to live in. The actual studio is perfect for a long weekend, it has everything you need. Clean, it has a nice little kitchen to keep your snacks. The only thing I wish it had was a firmer mattress but that was the only thing that I have any complaints about. Gene is awesome, he gets back to you with any questions that you may have immediately.
