Room in apartment located in Santiago Centro, Parque O'Higgins metro station, 10 minutes from historic downtown. Close to a supermarket, stores, pharmacies and public transport. Shared bathroom and internet wifi. Daily and monthly prices
The apartment is very simple but comfortable. It's located in a closed building with elevator. There's internet wi-fi and a complete kitchen (including washing machine). I don't have TV but there are many books if you like reading. We don't smoke inside the apartment, but there's a balcony where you can do it. You can freely use the kitchen (including the washing machine), living room and dining room. The bedroom is 8 square meters and has a bed with bedclothes, a desk and a wardrobe and in winter there is a heater and an electric bed heater. The bathroom is shared.
You can use all shared spaces in the apartment, cook and wash clothes if you need. There's wifi internet. the room includes sheets, blankets and a towel. I have maps of the neighborhood and Santiago tourist places and a transport card to use the public transport.
Interaction with Guests
My idea of hosting, besides being a monetary help, is about meeting people, talking and sharing experiences. If you stay at my place, you won't be a client, you'll be my guest. I use to work a lot so I don't have much free time but I always manage to share with my guests at least one meal or cup of coffee and a chat
Come to live traditional Santiago Centro, in a neighborhood that soon will be declared Zona Típica and famous for its thematic comercial streets (10 de Julio, Av. Matta, San Diego), traditional houses from the beginning of 1900s and Parque O'Higgins, one of the most important parks in the city, the heart of Fiestas Patrias in Santiago (September) and location of important music festivals and concerts (Lollapalooza, The Metal Fest). Also it's near several Universities (Faculty of Engineering of Universidad de Chile, Universidad Mayor and the university Republica Neighborhood), concert theaters (Caupolicán, Movistar Arena) and typical chilean restaurants where you can eat, drink and dance cueca. From the apartment you can visit the historic and administrative centre of Santiago, where you can find museums, churches and patrimonial buildings. There are restaurants and cafes in Paseo Bulnes (700 mts). Also you can buy whatever you need in the supermarket (400 mts) and move easily around the city by metro (300 mts) and bus.
Excellent acces to public transport. Parque O'Higgins metro station is 5 minutes walking. There are micros (city buses) to all directions. If you like walking, it takes 20 minutes to get downtown, or 10 minutes if you use public transport
We don't smoke at home, so if you do there is a balcony where you can smoke.
Usually I don't go inside the room if I have a guest, so if you want the room to be cleaned please let me know (only for short stays)
You are my guest so you don't have to clean shared spaces of the apartment. However, if you help me cleaning what you use I'd be grateful
This is the second time at Javiera's and she was just as lovely as ever. The room and house are clean, you get a bit of noise from the city through the window and the metro train station is really close. There is a restaurant strip 10-15min walk from the apartment which Javiera points out on the map she provides. She was also lovely enough to help me order a Transvip (shared taxi) back to the airport for my departure. It was perfect for Lollapalooza!
Javiera is lovely! I am back on the weekend for Lollapalooza and her apartment is perfect to access Parque O'Higgins. A little far if you want to be in the centre of town but still accessible by metro or a good walk. The bed was comfy and I am looking forward to spending more time getting to know Javiera.
Great space and fun neighborhood. Javiera was incredibly nice and even arranged a ride to the airport for me. Highly recommended.
Javiera is a very nice host. I was really busy exploring the city, so I didn't get to spend a lot of time with her. Her place is located close to the metro which is very nice. My room and the bathroom were clean.
Javiera was lovely and even arranged for a friend of hers (another airbnb host) to greet me once I arrived as she was at work. She was more than happy to answer any of my questions. The apartment is close to the metro, though I didn't use it as prefer walking to get to know local areas. It's about a 20-30 min walk to La Moneda - takes longer in the afternoon as it's so hot in summer :)
The room and bathroom were very clean. The shower is cosy but considering the cheap price and kindness of Javiera it's not an issue at all.

My name is Javiera, I'm 31 and I work as a biologist. I usually work a lot but I love my job, doing research, teaching and spending time making science closer to people. I like photography and trekking so when I have some free time I mix them. In any trip, my camera is my best partner, even around my own city.
I love dancing, walking and traveling. I don't know many foreign countries but I'd love to!. My best experiences outside my country have been with local people, so I like to give back some of that, making visitors feel like they were at home when they are at my place. I really enjoy sharing and learning new things from them
