Room in apartment located in Santiago Centro, Parque O'Higgins metro station, 10 minutes from historic downtown. Close to a supermarket, stores, pharmacies and public transport. Shared bathroom and internet wifi. Daily and monthly prices

The Space

The apartment is very simple but comfortable. It's located in a closed building with elevator. There's internet wi-fi and a complete kitchen (including washing machine). I don't have TV but there are many books if you like reading. We don't smoke inside the apartment, but there's a balcony where you can do it. You can freely use the kitchen (including the washing machine), living room and dining room. The bedroom is 8 square meters and has a bed with bedclothes, a desk and a wardrobe and in winter there is a heater and an electric bed heater. The bathroom is shared.

Guest Access

You can use all shared spaces in the apartment, cook and wash clothes if you need. There's wifi internet. the room includes sheets, blankets and a towel. I have maps of the neighborhood and Santiago tourist places and a transport card to use the public transport.

Interaction with Guests

My idea of hosting, besides being a monetary help, is about meeting people, talking and sharing experiences. If you stay at my place, you won't be a client, you'll be my guest. I use to work a lot so I don't have much free time but I always manage to share with my guests at least one meal or cup of coffee and a chat

The Neighborhood

Come to live traditional Santiago Centro, in a neighborhood that soon will be declared Zona Típica and famous for its thematic comercial streets (10 de Julio, Av. Matta, San Diego), traditional houses from the beginning of 1900s and Parque O'Higgins, one of the most important parks in the city, the heart of Fiestas Patrias in Santiago (September) and location of important music festivals and concerts (Lollapalooza, The Metal Fest). Also it's near several Universities (Faculty of Engineering of Universidad de Chile, Universidad Mayor and the university Republica Neighborhood), concert theaters (Caupolicán, Movistar Arena) and typical chilean restaurants where you can eat, drink and dance cueca. From the apartment you can visit the historic and administrative centre of Santiago, where you can find museums, churches and patrimonial buildings. There are restaurants and cafes in Paseo Bulnes (700 mts). Also you can buy whatever you need in the supermarket (400 mts) and move easily around the city by metro (300 mts) and bus.

Getting around

Excellent acces to public transport. Parque O'Higgins metro station is 5 minutes walking. There are micros (city buses) to all directions. If you like walking, it takes 20 minutes to get downtown, or 10 minutes if you use public transport

  • Javiera was a great host. Her apartment is just a few blocks from the metro station and walking distance to the supermarket, Tottus. It was a bit cold since it was winter, but Javiera provided a heater and an electric blanket. Overall, I was very comfortable during my stay and would recommend Javiera's apartment to anyone visiting Santiago.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Javier. She is just darling and speaks English very well. The apartment is on a main road, with lots of busses nearby to get into the center of town, if you don't feel like walking or want to get there in just a few minutes. The BIP card she provided was a huge asset, as you need it to talk the bus, or it is a short walk to the metro station. We went to the Saturday morning market located nearby and she had lots of information on things to do and see. It was getting cold in Santiago and she provided a heater in the room. In Chile they don't quite insulate windows like in the US. She also has another room, so you could try to book that one too. I would happily stay with her again.

  • Javiera's apartment is very cute and cosy. I stayed for Lollapalooza and the apartment was so close to the stadium. There is a train station just there too! Javiera is a great helpful host. She is very sweet and friendly and her English is great! I would definatly recommend Javiera!

  • Javiera is a wonderful host and a very lovely person. She is very easy going and gives great tips on Santiago, making sure your visit is top notch. Javiera's responds quickly on email and is very interesting and informative to talk to in person. Her English is excellent. She even provides a handy metro/bip card for your use. The apartment is as advertised, has all the basics, with a washing machine being a big plus. Javiera keeps her place very clean and tidy, it is a short walk to the metro stop Parque Ohiggins or an easy 15-20 minute walk to everything downtown, BellaVista, etc. A large supermarket is 5 minutes away. Highly recommend Javiera's place and Javiera!

  • Javier was a delightful friendly host during my brief time in Santiago. She cheerfully accommodated my middle of the night airport arrival and departure, gave me terrific ideas and directions for my day in the city, and I enjoyed getting to know her in the little time we had. I'll be back if I can!

This is a very good deal if you want to stay in a cheap, nice and central place in Santiago. Javiera is a very nice host, who will make her best for you to have a nice stay. The room is clean, the mattress is good. The only thing is that the room is on a busy road, but this is perfectly fine with earplugs. Don't hesitate to book !

    Gracias Javiera

  • All I needed was a clean, quiet room during my stay in Santiago and this turned out to be an excellent choice. If you read the description you'll know what to expect. The inclusion of a BIP card turned out to be very useful for getting around Santiago (I think I used the subway every day I was there). It was my first time in Santiago and Javiera was helpful in answering questions during my visit. No complaints - highly recommended.

  • I booked Javiera's room from China; it was my first Airbnb experience so I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but she and her roommate Jose could not have been more understanding, helpful and considerate. I can easily recommend anyone staying there.

About
My name is Javiera, I'm 30 and I work as a biologist. I usually work a lot but I love my job, doing research, teaching and spending time making science closer to people. I like photography and trekking so when I have some free time I mix them. In any trip, my camera is my best partner, even around my own city. I love dancing, walking and traveling. I don't know many foreign countries but I'd love to!. My best experiences outside my country have been with local people, so I like to give back some of that making visitors feel like they were at home when they are at my place. I really enjoy sharing and learning new things from them
