Interaction with Guests
You can always email, text, or call with questions!
Greenpoint is a cool, young neighborhood with an old-world Polish vibe. It's up and coming, with a mixture of long-time residents and new young energy. Removed from some of the more central transit lines, Greenpoint is quieter, quainter, and has a bit of a throw-back feeling. There are some amazing parks, great waterfront views, and quiet streets with plenty of boutique shopping. People really LIVE in Greenpoint, and you won't see as many tourists as you would in neighboring Williamsburg (which we love!).
The apartment is on the corner of Calyer and Manhattan Avenue, between the Dime Bank and the USA Deli. The G train is 1 block from the apartment, and the L train at Bedford or Lorimer is about a 10-15 minute walk away. Lots of busses will also give you options. Give yourself 30-45 minutes to get to where you're going. Traffic and transit will generally always get in the way - it's a NYC tradition!
Uber and yellow cabs are also a quick, but slightly pricier, way to get around.
Other Things to Note
There is no AC for the summer renters. Fans are provided for comfort, but there's a great cross-breeze in the apartment.
The apartment is on the corner of a well-trafficked street. While street-noise is always a part of city life, if you are particularly sensitive, please bring ear-plugs or look for a quieter abode.
There are no blinds on the windows of the apartment. Located on the top floor, privacy isn't an issue and we've chosen to let the sunlight flood in. If you're a sensitive sleeper, please note that the apartment brightens up as soon as the sun rises.
