This is a great little apt. in an awesome neighborhood. It is set off the street and so is very quiet. It has everything you need for cooking, reading, getting work done, or just chilling with the tv. It is very clean, too! Rod was a timely and communicative host. I had a flight cancelled and had to rearrange my check in time and Rod was very flexible about all that.
I enjoyed my 2 week stay at Rod's flat. The flat itself, albeit small, had all I needed: clean bathroom and kitchen, fast internet, comfortable bed, TV and heating. It's located centrally, and no more than half an hour away from all of New York's attractions. I will say, however, the walls are thin so I heard quite a bit of movement from the neighboring flats through the ceilings and walls. Apart from this, the area itself is quiet; perfect for first time travelers to the city. Will visit again!
This lovely apartment was very clean, warm and cozy (our stay was in January). It was also a very quiet apartment building; very little noise. The kitchen met all of my needs to prepare some simple breakfast meals. Rod is super nice! He is very enthusiastic about providing us with information with things to do in the neighborhood. He also gave us some tips on how to get into a sold out show at the Comedy Cellar... and it worked! I would stay here again.
My wife and I stayed at Kate & Rod's place for four nights on a hit and run trip to NYC, and it was just what we were looking for, and it served are purpose very well.
Rod was very friendly and gave us some very good recommendations. The apartment was in a good condition and ok clean; being situated in a back-house it was nice and quiet; and the location was just great in hte midst of a very cool neighbourhood and not far from public transportation. Besides that the nearby Café Ost is cosy and makes very good coffee. The only caveats are that it is a bit small (but isn't it always like that in NYC?); there is no zink in the bathroom; there are some stairs; and the bed is on the soft side. So, perhaps it is better for younger couples without children, and if you are - then this is a good place to stay.
Great place, awesome location and really accommodating hosts!!
