The apartment was great! We found it easily, and found good parking close by. The views out of all of the windows were breathtaking, and waking every morning to the sound of birds was great. It had everything you could need. We made dinner and ate in front of the windows with a view of the mountain, very nice.
Great place in a quite and child friendly area.
Would certainly come back
The apartment was better than the description. It was spacious and well-equipped. It was the best of four places we rented in different cities on this trip. The house has a small garden most suitable for drinking tea with jam and bread. Marco's picture of the fortress is taken from the garden. The views to the mountains from the many windows were terrific. Frau Fotiou, Marco's grandmother, greeted us and made us feel comfortably at home immediately. She was charming, gracious and helpful throughout our stay. Situated in a real locals neighbourhood below the Abbey and around the corner from Old Town, we found the location very convenient for either city excursions or traveling the paths outside town along the river. If you want to ride a bike along the river you can be in the countryside in about ten minutes.
Spar and Billa grocery stores were a six minute walk and there were many restaurants nearby.. A short ride on the #5 bus was a convenient way to get to and from the train station.
The bathroom was on the small side but had the necessary equipment and a good supply of hot water. It also had hooks for hanging clothes or towels while you showered. It is surprising to us that so many hotels motels and other rentals fail to do this. Anyway, when you're on a vacation with many splendid things to do, the bathroom is probably the place you want to spend the least time in. We like to have toast for breakfast, so a toaster would have been nice, but the top element in the oven did a reasonable job.
In summary, this charming historic apartment was excellent value and we would recommend it highly to anyone who wants to feel they are living in Salzburg and not just visiting.
This is a wonderful space within a 5 minute walk to the main activity center. It is in an old building and is quite charming. The apartment is spacious but cozy and a little quircky as would be expected from an old building. We absolutely loved staying there and would do so again. Frieda was there to greet us and give us the particulars about the place. The door to the bathroom is pretty short.
We were greeted at the door by Marco's mother who showed us around the apartment. She helped us with a phone call we needed to make to the airport and we so appreciated that. The apartment is very comfortable and is in a great location. The garden was coming in to bloom and is very inviting.
