The Space

Find us on F B for more photos, guest book entries, and links.
PLEASE NOTE: Narrow uphill driveway not ideal for full size/oversize vehicles. 4wd recommended in winter conditions.

Our renovated midcentury cabin is nestled between trees with extraordinary unobstructed PANORAMIC views of the mountains and ski slopes! Bright and open floor plan makes it easy for everyone to be together, and large windows and open beam vaulted ceilings bring nature indoors. Natural stone wood-burning fireplace will be a focal point for your gathering. Throw a log on the fire, stare out the window at the incredible views, and enjoy eachother's company. At night, star gazing from the deck will take you away. Enjoy cooking in the modern kitchen with stainless appliances or do some grilling on the deck while breathing in the fresh mountain air! A perfect and cozy getaway without having to sacrifice modern conveniences.

Features: Flatscreen HDTV with smart Blu-ray player accessing online content such as Youtube, Pandora, and your accounts with Netflix, Hulu, etc. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook up a storm. Linens and towels are provided. Other features include mountain views from all rooms, deck with charcoal BBQ grill/smoker, wood burning fireplace, washer/dryer, microwave, dishwasher, wireless high speed internet, DVD & VHS in one bedroom, speakers for your ipod/computer in living room, jacuzzi bathtub, board games, and foosball table.

Bedrooms are downstairs, where they stay surprisingly toasty and warm due to central heating. Bedroom 1 has a plush queen mattress and a log frame bed. Bedroom 2 also has a queen log bed, and an additional twin roll-away bed stored in the closet. Upstairs there is a sectional sofa that could easily sleep 2 more people. One bathroom is upstairs (jacuzzi tub) and one jack & jill bathroom is downstairs.

Located in the Moonridge neighborhood, the Treehaus Chalet is close to it all and easy to find. Just a short drive or walk to Bear Mountain shuttle (approx 1/2 mile away), 1 mile drive to the Bear Mtn parking lot, minutes from grocery stores, and within a few miles of Snow Summit and the quaint Village!

Your well-behaved and house-trained pooch is welcome. The front deck is a great perch for Fido to survey the neighborhood and watch the birds and squirrels. But be advised the yard is not fenced.

The uphill driveway can park 3 cars in tandem. At 108" wide between wall and railing, it is difficult for full size trucks and SUVs to maneuver and unload. 4wd recommended during winter conditions and low clearance vehicles not recommended due to steep approach from street. Ask if you're unsure if your car will be suitable.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Fantastic chalet! Amazing views with everything you need for a break in Big Bear. The cabin is a great size over 2 floors with really comfortable beds, great location ( 5 min drive from the village) and everything was spotless. My parents and I had a great weekend break here relaxing on the balcony with the BBQ and then using the wood fire in the evenings. We would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. The owners Sara and Eric were also great and very easy to deal with. I can't recommend this place enough and will definitely return!

  • We had the best time staying here. The view was amazing as was the location - right by the slopes. It was a perfect spot to end up after a day of skiing. The beds were cozy - we will rent this cabin again for sure!

  • This was my first time using this site and Sara and Eric made it such a great experience. They were extremely accommodating and overall amazing hosts. They answered all my questions thoroughly and promptly. I will definitely recommend them to my family and friends.

Their place is beautiful and truly has breathtaking views. The appliances and furniture is well kept! In sum, I loved them and their gorgeous cabin!

  • I had a lovely stay here with a friend for my birthday. It was my first time in Big Bear and the Treehaus Chalet was perfect. I especially enjoyed the balcony view. Communicating with them was very easy; Sara responded to my texts very quickly. Everything was clean and worked fine. Highly recommended.

  • Great place! I rented the home for a business planning get away and it was perfect. The location is close but secluded from town, the owners are accessible for questions and the home is very cozy for friends and family trips.

  • A group of college student tour guides (uci campus reps) stayed at the Treehausechalet for 3 nights and we had an absolutely wonderful stay! Check in/out was so easy, and Sara and Erick were extremely available via email for any questions or concerns we had both prior to the trip as well as during. Ski resorts (two!) are just a mile away, the view in winter couldn't be better, and the space was comfy cozy for a perfect winter retreat. Thank you for sharing your home!

  • It was very cozy and the views were awesome!! Hope to come back again soon!

    November 2013
  • We loved this little cabin! We had snow on the first day we were there which was amazing and made the house look like a Christmas card, it was such a perfect place to stay. We also couldn't get enough of the view from the living room. Others have already commented on the driveway - we were not able to make it up in our car but there was ice on the road so that's probably why. Maybe not as much of an issue for those more accustomed to driving on snow & ice. The bathrooms were really nice and the bathroom wall heater was cozy for a bath even though we didn't want to keep the entire cabin too warm. Overall great experience.
