New York NY
*Our neighborhood within NYC is called Astoria. We think Astoria is a hidden gem within the New York NY metropolitan area. We are located in a serene and very SAFE neighborhood. It is a wonderful and interesting neighborhood.......
Astoria is very close to midtown Manhattan and so it is an ideal location in which base yourself to enjoy and explore NYC. This is especially true for our house because we are so close to a major subway stop and subway line.
Astoria is known as a "Greek" community (people from Greece live here). Our area of Astoria is a vibrant mix of greeks, italians, "hipsters", midsters, oldsters, brazilians, yuppies, japanese, chinese, and just about everyone else in the world is represented. It is fun and interesting to be mixed into the multi-cultural atmosphere.
Astoria has a unique small town atmosphere but located very close to Manhattan.
Astoria is loaded with restaurants, bars, clubs, and shopping galore. Just about anything that you would want to buy you can find it here. Marshalls and many other discount retailers are very close to our house.
Our neighborhood is considered to be one of the most "up and coming" and popular neighborhoods in NYC.. People often describe Astoria as the east part of Midtown or the east side of the east side of Manhattan. Astoria is a much sought after neighborhood. It is easy and fun to walk around Astoria and soak in the many different subcultures of people groups within Astoria. You will find authentic and inexpensive restaurants from literally all over the world. There are coffee shops, pubs, bars, clubs and parks galore.
It's fun here.

* The 46th st. station for the subway trains (R and M lines) is less than a block away from our house so it is easy access to the NYC subway system. From the 46th st. station, it is approximately a 15 minute subway ride (4 stops) to the first stop in Manhattan (the Lexington station).
It is relatively easy to park your car in our neighborhood.

Other Things to Note
*We are located very close to Manhattan and we have much more peace and calm in our neighborhood than you will find in Manhattan.
*Our backyard has a porch and patio area and a garden. The sun hits the back porch nicely in the a.m.
The beds are ikea beds. We have only heard positive comments about the mattress quality
*2 Ikea beds with a queen size mattress (for two people each). Plus there is 1 Ikea twin sized bed (for one person). So there are 3 total beds.
*We have a small refrigerator, a sink, a microwave, a toaster and an electric kettle in your room. And we provide the linens, towels, a hairdryer and essentials like soap, shampoo and t.p.
We recommend our place for up to 3 adults but we can accomodate up to 5 adults if you don't mind being a bit crowded.
Our home was built in the late 1930's. We particulary admire American design from this time period so we have some vintage furniture from the 1930's in the apartment.

New York NY
It was a great experience staying at this place. Dennis and Naoko were great and their son was so cute. Close enough to Manhattan. I really enjoyed my NY trip with my son because of this place. Thank you very much.
Dennis was there to meet me as I arrived and immediately made me feel welcome, showed me around and gave me some tips on the local neighbourhood, and was there as I left to make sure I'd had a good stay.
The space itself is ideal as a base for visiting the city. It's clean and comfortable, with all the essentials you need. At the end of the street, not two minutes walk away, are a 24hr market and a 24hr pharmacy, and the neighbourhood is full of other restaurants and take outs. And perhaps best of all, the subway is also right at the end of the street, easily connecting you to the rest of the city (including Midtown Manhattan inside 15 minutes). The location could hardly be better.
I would absolutely recommend Dennis's place to anyone visiting New York.
지하철에서 가까워서 좋구요..
데니스 아저씨 너무 친절하셔요
체크아웃한 후에도 짐 맡아주신 덕분에 편하게 다녔구요..
우산도 빌려주셔서 너무 감사했네요
Staying at Dennis' place was great. It's a safe neighborhood, incredibly convenient to get to Laguardia, and there are accessible restaurants and shops located nearby. Dennis was very hospitable and kind. He was very friendly to communicate with and quick to respond. We enjoyed our stay!
We enjoyed our stay in Dennis' apartment. It was clean and comfortable and was just what we wanted for our short trip to NYC. It was less than a 5 minute walk to the subway, a great corner market, a good breakfast place, and some solid pizza. We would definitely stay here again.
Dennis was a wonderful host and his apartment was exactly as described. This location is safe with it's own entrance and a short walk to an MTA station. I traveled with two 18yr old teens and we were out till after midnight and still felt safe walking back. Staying at this location made traveling to NYC affordable.
Tutto perfetto, metropolitana vicina, ambiente pulito, supermercato, frutta e verdura vicini. Dennis è stato un ottimo host cordiale e disponibile.Grazie di tutto
