We felt at home from the moment we walked into John's lovely home. It was the perfect environment to return to at the end of a long day of being out and about. Nothing takes away the chill of a cold and rainy Portland night than sitting around a fire in the beautiful fireplace in the living room. Everyone in my family also commented on the total comfort of the beds... I slept like a baby every night I was there. We also thoroughly enjoyed John's extensive book collection. John was a wonderful host and we loved every part of our air b&b experience. I highly recommend this home.
Thank you Katy. I am so glad that now have some sweet memories that include my home. And i love that you had a chance to take advantage of my love of books. i spent some time picking those beds so it's always refreshing to hear that I made good choices. I'm thinking the high thread count sheets helps also.
I hope we get to see your sweet faces again some time soon.
John's place was a great base for exploring Portland. Above all it is really quiet, and it just has a really great energy. It's a little bit out of the bustle of downtown but the Powell Street bus is a quick and direct link, and there were several places nearby to grab groceries and coffee. John is very friendly and easy to contact if needed. All three bedrooms were clean and comfortable and the bathroom has vintage trim and tiling for those interested in interior design. A great choice for those needing a larger space.
Jon was a great host - his house is quiet and peaceful just what we needed. He was so thoughtful and kind and left plenty of space for us to spread out and make ourselves at home. Artist to artist, he knows how to make travelers feel welcome! Thanks Jon!
John was a lovely and generous host. We loved staying in the house. It was relaxing and spacious and we enjoyed sitting in the sunshine on the deck, in the peace and quiet of the back garden.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable and it felt very inviting just like being at home.
I definitely recommend staying here! The house is located in a quiet, peaceful, cute little neighborhood and is convenient to downtown. It was nice and clean with fresh towels, chocolates, and water bottles waiting for us in each room. There was also a bottle of delicious wine waiting for us on the kitchen counter upon our arrival...so sweet! John was out of town during our stay, however, he called to assure we found the place and everything was okay, and was available for any questions. The house has a very comfortable vibe, wonderful yard, and AWESOME books! I would have to say my favorite surprise was the guest drawer in the bathroom, with essential oils for the chakras and a chart explaining the chakras :) Loved it!
